Me and my family ordered $70 worth of food online and they forgot the chicken Cesar salad so I went inside to get it and I got ignored by the employees for a few minutes and then finally got someone to make my Cesar salad. While it was being made I looked behind the counter and it was absolutely disgusting back there! Paper and food everywhere! With Covid still being a thing I feel like sanitation should be high priority! When I got home, which is two minutes away, our food was stone cold amd not good! It seems like Management is incapable! I contacted the divison manager (Cheryl) directly about this matter and there was no response! I feel like the customer doesn't matter to them! I would not go back to Panera ever again! First time I've been in a Panera Bread outside of California. I'm very not impressed. They were totally out of dark roast coffee and didn't seem to care much. Said they would brew some more but wasn't ready by time I was ready to leave. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich but didn't come with all of the advertised ingredients. Ordered a 2 nd time and called the store directly to be sure that they would double check my order before out for delivery. They called to let me know of a substitute. They delivered my order with 4 missing things- one was the substitution. Another one of my kids had no dinner. Service is deplorable. When we took the notification device to the counter to get the food, a staff member seemed to have an attitude when I placed it on the counter to get the food. She abruptly picked it up and threw it into a basket and turned her back. The soup had been spilled all over the plate when we picked it up. They ran out of ingredients for the salad we ordered and didn't tell us until asked about it. This place....... I have been a fan for many years, and the company has a great concept of utilizing all natural, whole ingredients in their food. So - yeah for that!!!! However, the downhill slide is apparent. For some reason it appears they are unable to keep the restaurant clean and the beverage/ utensil Bar well stocked or clean. The floors were a mess! Covered in trash throughout the restaurant, did they just get done serving 100+ people that unloaded from 2 charter buses bound for Ohio? He then said I had to go see someone else after waiting 15 mins (with a bag in hand and on the counter). He didn't want to help, and was arguing about who's job that was. Take 15 minutes plus to clear the line, partly by never having more than one person at the registers at any one time. 3. We went to Panera Bread tonight (9-12-18) around 8:25 pm and we went in and Alice, black girl at the cashier, was rude and ever! She didnt ask "How are you doing tonight". She didn't smile or say "You're welcome". She took our money and didn't say anything. Well I was in the mood for soup and salad and based on MANY previous visits to many different Panera Bread restaurants, including this location, we stopped in for dinner (party of 5). Similar layout of all other Panera Breads so if your not familiar I guess you live in a cave or under a rock. This visit the location was not busy only a couple of patrons so we immediately placed our order at the counter. Great so far right... The wait for our food was typical and was as expected. Looks great at the counter until we sit down to enjoy our HOT soup but wait it was NO WHERE NEAR HOT Luke warm AT BEST!!! NOTE: 4 OUY OF THE 5 OF OUR PARTY HAD DIFFERENT SOUPS AND THEY WERE ALL NEAR OR BELOW ROOM TEMP No biggie right we will just go have them warmed up or exchanged....ALL FOUR I REMIND YOU. I understand stuff happens. Well hold up their sparky!!! MGMT take note and train ALL of your employees!!!! Reply from person at counter. "YOU can use the microwave to warm up your soup". I REMIND you all four of us that JUST picked up our orders not less than ONE MINUTE" ago. Notice he said "you" not that HE WOULD heat up our soup. He stated this would better if you heated it up in the microwave near the FRONT OF THE STORE rather than me having to remake it....WTF Really? I believe it is the establishment and persons BEHIND THE COUNTER not in front of the counter, those are called customer's!!!, to make sure the food is prepared correctly and at the SAFE TEMPS THAT DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH HAS SET AS GUIDELINES which these were well below!!! I'm going to become known as the Panera reviewer if I'm not careful... Oh well. So I visited this Panera while one of my friends in Asheville was at work. The coffee and muffins here are - hands down - the best I've ever had at a Panera, which is odd, since I thought their stuff was pretty uniform across the country. After finishing my reduced fat blueberry muffin, I surfed the net for a while until they booted me because of the stupid "High Traffic Volume Time Limitation" thing, which was annoying, since the restaurant was mostly empty. I suppose it's broader corporate policy, but the manager ought to be able to turn this off if he sees it's not a problem on a given day. I then ordered lunch, which was a little disappointing. They skimped on the cheese and dressing on my Caesar salad and the side of whole grain bread that I got was a stump, essentially. I'm not complaining about getting the end piece - I like that - but rather that it was SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than other pieces I saw people wandering off with. Alas. I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to come here, if I'm ever in Asheville again, but it was certainly a decent place to kill a few hours on a long Thursday. read more

I am usually here during the morning hours. I needed to send off some emails so I stopped in for a late lunch early dinner. They have a new menu but the manager was informing people that they did not have the pasta for these new items. I ordered a half Turkey apple and cheddar. I know to expect a small sandwich 2 inches by 2 1/2 inches. The sandwich I received was cut that way. It had a strip of cheddar that was 1 inch by 2 inches, the turkey was ripped up but all together covered a single layer 1 inch by 2 inch and finished with a pinch of arugula (very thin layer for half of my half of a sandwich or 1/4 sandwich). The menu says that this comes with apple and cabbage slaw and mustard horseradish sauce, this was no ware to be found. Very disappointing for a $6 sandwich. read more

This review is only for their lunches as i work nearby and there always isn't time to go much farther. On the plus side, their place is clean and if not too busy you get waited on pretty quick. I am writing this review for "Panera" in South Asheville. I have eaten at this location twice now and both times the food has been amazing. My first time trying Panera I was unsure of what I would like. I decided to try the "Pick Two" option off of the menu. I decided to try the Broccoli Cheddar Soup and the Grilled Cheese. The food was fast to come out, and the food was delicious. The Broccoli Cheddar Soup reminded me of my Mom's recipe. My second time trying this location was equally the same. This time, I only got a bowl of Broccoli Cheddar Soup. The soup again was amazing. I honestly don't know how the make this soup so perfect. I ate here with my best friend both times and we had a great time. The staff has been friendly both times, and it is always busy. If you don't mind waiting in line and you don't mind waiting for good food, then this is the place you need to come to. Keep up the good work Panera! read more

They opened a short time ago, during the covid restrictions. We have used both online and drive-in. The service is awful; maybe they are unwilling to pay a living wage. The food is no better than Chick Fil A, Burger King, etc., at least at this location. And way overpriced by comparison.to those fast food places that I choose not to patroniz. The restaurant has a problem with customer service. I ordered curbside service, let them know when I arrived and nothing for 10 minutes. I realized that no food had come out during that time even though the cars were lined up. I went in, waited 5 more minutes to talk to an employee who pointed me to a shelf where my food was sitting. I asked that my 20 percent tip be refunded, got an okay...no sorry, but okay. That didn't happen. The sandwich had sat long enough to be soggy and inedible. I tried to contact online customer service and couldn't get that to work. I called, waited 35 minutes and gave up. Too expensive for mediocre food and a decent chance at horrible service. read more

This place is the worst!!! The worst service ever with biggest tools ever on the morning shift. Three bad experiences. Tried to phone in bagel order but no one ever answered. Complained to manager who said phone never rang. Really!! Maybe you should get your phones checked or get a new hearing aid! Next time tried mobile order. Went to pick it up but not done. My mom and I went, I ordered a sandwich and a SIDE of macaroni. My mom ordered a half sandwich with a side of macaroni. The cashier was very rude, she rung our meal up as a sandwich with a side of chips, and a whole separate macaroni MEAL with another side of chips. My moms order was wrung up as the half sandwich and a side of macaroni and she got a tiny apple. THIS WAS 29.97 with only one drink. I could have gone to a way nicer restaurant for this. We then asked the manager about it and why it was wrung up like this and he couldn't even tell us really.
