Stir fried rice noodles with pork
    Sophie Y.

First time here since we were craving some veggies and soup. Clear broth was hot and flavorful but the pork wontons didn't taste good, too mushy skin and ingredients. Wish there were some green onions or leafy greens other than white cabbage. The stir fried noodles was ok and some noodles were still stuck together. Again, more bean sprouts would be appreciated. Both were edible in ok portions. They were $13 to $14 per entree which seemed reasoning in Asheville. Waiter was friendly and nice. We seated in the patio.

Clear soup with chicken, mixed veggies and rice noodles

We had the clear broth soup w chicken, mixed veggies and thin rice noodles. So simple and yummy! Spring rolls were great too. Highly recommend it!

Came here as a recommendation from a friend who loves the place. It was not my favorite, but I didn't read any reviews ahead of time because she said everything was good. The pan fried dumplings were pretty good but my peanut noodles were sort of bland. I was expecting more flavor but it was really like eating noodles and peanut butter. My husband enjoyed his soup... We also sat outside because they allow dogs (bonus!) but the people watching was a bit unnerving. Of course this is not the restaurants fault but it's unpleasant witnessing screeching on a microphone on one end and someone blasting heavy metal, playing with a dumbbell, and getting into fights on the other end. I'm aware this might be entertaining for some.

Nice selection of good quality, mom and pop style cuisine. Efficient service. Cozy space, can feel a little cramped at times but this doesn't bother me.

I need a noodle shop where I live!!! Absolutely loved my vegan dumplings and rice noodle dish from The Noodle Shop! My hubby and I visited Asheville a couple weeks ago, and after walking around and shopping we need a hearty lunch. Nothing too greasy or indulgent though because we were heading to a wedding that night. The Noodle Shop perfectly hit the spot! It's a cute little casual restaurant with indoor & outdoor seating. We enjoyed sitting outside people watching & listening to the street performers. My vegan dumplings (Bao Zi) were SOOOOO GOOD- especially the soup broth that came with it for dipping. I also liked my vegan rice noodle dish, lots of fresh veggies, and too big a portion to finish. Our waitress was sweet & attentive. If I'm ever in town again I will def try some more of their menu! Heads up make sure u check their hours they close between lunch & dinner

The service was great today, however we were disappointed with the atmosphere and cleanliness inside. I saw a cook picking at his nose. The water in the bathroom was either piping hot or not warm enough for proper handwashing. The sesame noodles was simply smothered with peanut butter (NOT a peanut butter sauce) so I returned it for home style tofu recommended by server. That was fine. My husband's stir fry noodles was basic with no flavor, and to top it off, a piece of metal found in his dish.

This is a small little noodle shop wedged in downtown Asheville. Overall it was pretty good. We were seated right when it opened, and they kept on top of our drink refills. First off the pan fried dumpling are amazing! I could have eaten several orders. Definitely get an order of those. They are crispy and juicy. We ordered the pad Thai and the wonton soup. It is nice that you can chose what type of noodle you would like with your dish. The pad Thai had a good amount of flavor, but had to add a little more spice to it. The wontons in the wontons soup were flavorful, but the actual soup was missing something. I would come back, but I would try other dishes.

Such a genius place!!! I'm such an Asian food junkie and this hit every spot possible! I will have to come get it again. We asked our server for options and he quickly knew the best options! Highly recommend any of the noodle soups!

The staff were extremely helpful. I mentioned I was looking for vegetarian options, and the bar tender thoughtfully guided me through the various options on both the tapas and ramen menus. That made for a great experience. In terms of the food, I opted for the miso eggplant and the garlic butter broccoli. Both were excellent. The miso eggplant is served as well cooked Japanese eggplant with a light tempura treatment and somewhat sweet miso glaze. Not too heavy, but still delicious and nicely textured. The broccoli was perfectly cooked with lots of flavor. It made for a nice pairing. In terms of beer, they had a few different local beers on tap. I went for a local pale ale. Great. In any case, this place is highly recommended. I suspect their vegetarian ramen would probably be pretty good, but that was a little heavier than what I was looking for. It was nice to have a few other vegetable forward options available as a backup.

The entire bowl was phenomenal & I wished we had gone back there, the boiled egg they gave was also roasted and the bamboo shoots were fresh, the meat so tender and juicy, and the broth is very tasty!! I craving it while typing and a watery mouth! My partner and I shared a Miso Ramen and I wish we had something similar where I live!!! The decorations were cool and retro and the staff were nice, just an odd waitress but food is amazing!

It is located in downtown Asheville so there is no immediate parking lot but there are some places nearby or street parking, The inside is very modern and there is seating both inside and outside. Our server was very friendly and service was very prompt! My family got the Lo Mein with Chicken, Chow Fun with Beef, Sautéed String Bean, Buddha Bean Curd Rolls, Crystal Shrimp Dumplings, and Spicy Chicken. I loved the Crystal Shrimp Dumplings! The wrapper was very tender and the shrimp filling was delicious. It tasted very authentic to me. I also loved the Sautéed String Bean as it had the right amount of garlicky sauce. The Lo Mein was made with thinner than usual noodles but still tasted good. I think the Chow Fun tasted a bit off. It kind of tasted a bit sweet and like drunken noodles at some points as opposed to the traditional smoky flavor that the dish has. The rice noodles that were used were also thin as opposed to the usual wider noodles. As for the Spicy Chicken, it tasted solid. I liked the slight crisp before biting into each piece and it was not really spicy. I definitely tasted the cumin (I am not a super big fan of), which is a popular flavor found in Szechuan cuisine. Overall, I think this is a nice spot for some Chinese food, especially being near the mountains which is more isolated. I wish chicken feet were part of their dim sum menu (it is pretty small and there are no rolling carts in case anyone is wondering). I do think some flavors of the food I tasted seem to cater a bit more to the Western taste palate (my parents agree as well), but I enjoyed my time here.
