I try different things depending on the season but the broccoli and cheddar soup is a staple for me. The customer service isn't 5 stars. I love this location, it's always a pleasant experience when I go. The staff is always friendly and service swift. I don't really experiment too much with the menu. My favorites are the Asiago bacon egg and cheese, chicken avocado salad and the orange scone. All 3 are great but that orange scone is something special. This was my 3rd time at this particular Panera. I always get the same thing. You Pick Two: low-fat chicken noodle soup and the half turkey artichoke panini. You canNOT go wrong with these items. Delicious. This time, the place was PACKED! Students, parents, old-people, young 'uns on 'dates', everybody was in this Panera. You could barely get a seat. 2.5 stars I am obviously in the minority here, but once again I am not impressed by Panera, and this one is no different. I think if I just stick to pastries and bakery items, it's fine and a solid 3 stars. But the lunch/dinner menu - not that good. I must say whoever is in charge of describing the menu items and taking the photo of how the item is supposed to look gets FIVE STARS. Their perfect use of the right adjectives to make their sandwiches, salads, and soups *sound* superb is just amazing. However the appearance and more importantly taste of said items is poor. I get fooled everytime, since everytime I want to give Panera "one more chance" since everyone else seems to like it so much. I just need to stick the pastries. On my most recent visit, I got an asian-inspired salad with shrimp (not good - barely ate half) and a chicken salad sandwich (too "wet") on some soggy boring bread. Not impressed As far as this location, the dining room was a bit unkept...at least the day I went. The floor was full of crumbs and food as were multiple tables. Maybe it was just that day? I don't know. I will check it out again next time I go (just for pastries - cinnamon crunch bagel - YUM!) and update my review as needed. But I must say the staff was very nice and patient. Why do I mention patience? Because this menu is the most confusing thing ever. Seriously. I had the cashier review it with me a couple times because the combinations had my head spinning. I'm pretty much a fan of Panera Bread, but today I went in for a Lemonade and walked out with a Lobster Roll, chicken soup with a side of Lemonade. Let's talk about that Lobster Roll for a moment, I highly suggest it! None of this barely there lobster with a lot of filling, it literally was an overflow of lobster. It's def worth the price. This is exactly what you would expect when you visit a Panera Bread location. The only real pain about this location is the parking. It is located in the Bowie Town Center and this location is on one of the exit/entrance roads. If you were standing in front of the Panera there are only about 20 parking spots or so being shared by a large 6-10 stores. There is ample additional parking in surrounding lots but it is a short walk. read more

Long time Panera fan, first time at this location. The manager sent me to the pickup shelf for my online order as if it was ridiculous to him that I even ask to pickup an online order at the counter. I was not aware of their pickup counter and was displeased with the dismissive response, especially from a supervisor. Consistently runs out of basic items. Second time I have tried this location, second time they couldn't fill my order. At 9:30 AM on a Sunday and they are out of everything! I tried to place an order on the app for this location and it said they were out of all egg quiches, every kind of bagel except 3, croissants, over easy eggs. I thought that must be a mistake so I called them...nope they could not fill even half of my family's breakfast order. The other week was around the same time, not as bad but still annoying. Isn't this supposed to be a bread/bagel/breakfast place?!? What kind of business is so unprepared for breakfast that they are out of 75% of their breakfast items in the middle of breakfast time on a Sunday? Panera has been my go to multiple times a week for about 7 years, in 3 different states, and I have never had such a disappointing experience as I have had at this location. It does not get much better than Panera when you want a snack. The pastries are DELICIOUS. I love the cinnamon crunch bagel and the peanut butter cookies. They have pretty good drinks as well. We have a Panera right across the street from Starbucks and it is maybe the best combination ever. Great restaurant to grab a quick bite. I have been here multiple times and every time I eat the same people who are smiling and are eady to help you. I love all the foods in here, but my favorite is the Napa Valley almond chicken sandwich. I would like to go there once a week. Very poor service when I went on Sunday morning for breakfast. The worst is there was a manager standing next to the cash register and he was absolutely worthless. They wanted to rush everyone out as fast as possible. I understand breakfast can be busy but quickness should not be substituted for service. I ordered a spinach and artichoke souffle, a sesame bagel toasted with cream cheese and a large coffee. Each of the food items came out lukewarm, and my bagel was not toasted. I ordered the dish, and before I knew it, the manager had it bagged up and presented to me -- nothing was fresh or even warmed up. To top it off I was given a large soda cup for my large coffee and then had to wait to get that fixed. In the end, I ended up spending 50 cents more because they rang me up for a large soda instead of a large coffee and it was too much of a pain to try to get their attention to correct it. Some guy who was making the drinks just gave me a large coffee cup and so I just poured my coffee and left. Terrible service and there are so many other options, so I'll definitely think twice about visiting this location again. read more

My issue for this review is the bad customer service i was given. I eat at Panera bread every so often. Love the food. Tuesday I stopped by just to get a green passion smoothie. When I walked into the cashier isle to order my smoothie there was a co worker who had her back turned to me talking to her fellow co worker who was working the drink & pastry side. With no one ahead of me in line I approached the female and asked her if I could make my order since she was in my way of walking up to the cashier I needed to order from. She then looked at me for a moment, then told me I could order what I wanted from the other cashier area where you order the Sandwiches. I was taken aback and walked there, however there was no cashier ringing anyone up there. A manager later redirected the woman who was working the Drink& Pastry side to ring up my order at the Sandwich order side.I payed for my drink, to then hear that co worker complain about how she diddnt want to make the drink.She then asked another co worker to do it, while talking to the co worker who had her back turned to me.The co worker who was asked to make my drink ended up spilling it in the middle of making it, persuading the cashier who was working the drink&pastry stand to finally make my drink herself, all the while, she was having very loud personal conversations among her co workers without saying a word to me. read more

Drove 20 minutes on my lunch break just to go to Panera today 7/26/17 - this was the closest location to my office. After waiting in a short line, an older man not in line walked up to the counter adjacent to the next available cash register to get a closer look at the menu board; the cashier - literally 3 feet in front of me asked him if he was ready to order. I walked up to the counter and said, "are you just going to skip me?!?". She looked panicked, but told me to hold on while she finished taking this man's order. I walked straight out. read more

The best part: I was pleasantly surprised to discover that a chain could deliver personalized service when I asked for one scrambled egg to accompany my danish and mocha. The place is bright and clean, with lots of seating for single customers like me who want to sit and use my laptop while enjoying coffee or lunch. It also seems to be the local haven for groups, both biz and social. The only negative for me is the way things are organized. You have to get your own coffee near the door but pick up your food at the opposite extreme. And if you want to warm your danish pastry, you have to dodge folks who are getting their coffee to use a microwave at knee height on the shelf under it. I needed a couple of visits to figure out where everything was. The staff is pleasant, reasonable efficient, but not particularly friendly (compared to Starbucks across the street, for example) to customers (but yes among themselves). read more
