Dear Panera Guest Care, I am writing to share a very disappointing experience I had today at your Bowie Town Center, Maryland location. I want to begin by saying that I am a loyal Panera customer. I use the Panera app regularly and order from Panera frequently. This was my first time visiting the Bowie Town Center location, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. I placed my order through the Panera app, as I normally do, and purchased two sandwiches for approximately $24. After picking up my order and taking only a couple of bites of my sandwich, I realized it had been made incorrectly because the tomatoes were missing. Since we had not yet left the shopping center, I returned to the restaurant to have the sandwich corrected. I politely explained to the employee at the front counter that my sandwich had been made without tomatoes. She suggested that she simply give me a few tomato slices, but I explained that I would prefer the sandwich be remade correctly with the ingredients I had paid for. At that point, the interaction became very unprofessional. The employee took my bag with an obvious attitude, dropped it on the counter, rolled her eyes at a coworker, and walked away without saying anything further. When I asked if my sandwich was being remade, she replied "yes," asked another employee to make it, and then walked away without even telling the kitchen staff which sandwich needed to be remade. Because of this lack of communication, I had to walk over to the food preparation area myself and ask who was making my sandwich to ensure the correct order was being prepared. I then requested to speak with the supervisor. After waiting several minutes, the supervisor came out but appeared more concerned with speaking to the employee than addressing my concerns. His demeanor made me feel as though my complaint was an inconvenience rather than a legitimate customer concern. I did not feel that my concerns were taken seriously, nor did I receive the level of customer service I have come to expect from Panera. I understand that mistakes happen. My concern is not that tomatoes were forgotten. My concern is how I was treated after politely asking for my order to be corrected. As a paying customer, I should not have been met with attitude, dismissiveness, or disrespect for requesting that my food be prepared as ordered. Because I visit Panera so often, this experience was especially disappointing. I have always enjoyed your food and service at other locations, which is why this interaction at the Bowie Town Center restaurant stood out so negatively. I sincerely hope this feedback is shared with the management team so that additional customer service training can be provided. Every customer deserves to be treated with courtesy and respect, especially when simply asking that an order be corrected. Thank you for taking the time to review my experience. Making my morning rounds and decide to stop in for a cup of coffee, and a breakfast sandwich. The place not too crowded, plenty of seating and the young lady at the counter was pleasant and welcoming. Ordered the steak and wake, a cup of coffee, and a Drink. The unitial Steak and Wake was horrible. The young man made initial sandwich without the steak. I brought this to his attention he said no problem. He took the sandwich and placed steak on the sandwich and put back into oven for a second time instead of remaking the entire sandwich. I took the sandwich and called for the manager...the meat was still cold to the touch. The manager had the sandwich remade. The coffee was suppose to be bold however, it was the color of Tea. Panera has always been a favorite of our girls' youth sports teams, as it seems to appeal to their diet and makes for a nice mid- or post-tournament stop. They have a very relaxing atmosphere and a quick/efficient ordering/pickup process. This location is just up the road from the local sports park, making it an ideal stop as mentioned above. They serve Republic of Tea brand here. I almost didn't get my egg soufflé. It was 11:05. I asked for one and the gal behind the counter hesitated. She said she was just about to throw them away! No! I've been to this Panera Bread for several years and have yet to be disappointed. The customer service works like a well oiled machine and the staff have always been friendly to me. The place is kept clean and it flows well. There are plenty of seating inside that are spaced apart and great for working. There are outlets but not every outlet works so check and find the one that works if you need one for work. They pick up station is close to the front and easy accessible to grab and go. They also have carry out as well if you prefer that. The last time I was there the hot water station did get low a few times but it is cold outside and hot beverages as popular now. Once I told the manager he filled it up. On my most recent experience I had the margarita pizza and that was very filling and taste like it could have been from an Italian restaurant. It didn't take long to make either. I would recommend trying it. Oh yeah and grab some cookies for dessert or a snack :-) read more

She was friendly, and was able to remember most of the customers that came through the line which helped her prepared to drink even faster. I've ordered here several times and the food has been good and fresh as well as the customer service timely and accommodating. I love that they are making bread and pastries in small batches to ensure they are the freshest for the customer (I don't even mind waiting if I have too but I haven't). The limited menu is a bummer, especially when you have a taste for something but I totally get. There are still great choices from which to select. I just left this location and something I've never experienced happened. My friend and I both ordered salads. Both salads didn't appear to have any salad dressing on them. When I went back inside to get some I was denied. The woman behind the counter told me "we don't sell salad dressing". I said I just picked up my salad from you 2 minutes ago. Then another woman told me the salads had salad dressing. When I told her I didn't think so, but even then, I'd like more salad dressing. I never got any salad dressing. I'm on their lovely mailing list and received an email to watch a video in order to save some duckets on the new broth bowls, I do this, and POW! a half off coupon is loaded onto my myPanera card. Pretty exciting, huh? So I tried the soba noodle and chicken bowl. What I got was a hearty bowl of yummy broth, and semi seasoned chicken....lol. I think it is better than what comes in the salad, I mean way better. The flavors in the broth were on point and the added veggies (think cabbage, carrots and the like) were so very fresh. The noodles tasted good and weren't soggy either. The bowl was a total treat (low fat too), and a surprise from what I'm used to. Like most meals, you get your choice of a side, and there is a slight upcharge for a salad or sandwich. In my opinion though, it is totally filling by itself. I thought I ordered a half of a panini what I got was barely a quarter of a panini. The saving grace is the mac and cheese which is always good. This location can get pretty crowded at lunchtime but I think it's worth the wait. The food has always been tasty and they have plenty of choices. Sometimes I'll do the 'you pick 2' with either a sandwich/salad, sandwich/soup or salad/soup. My current favorite sandwich is the frontega chicken. It's warm with mozzarella cheese; yum. I also like the smokehouse turkey sandwich. Some of the soups can be a little bland but the cream of chicken and wild rice is good. The bakery has tons of devilish choices. The cobblestone sweet roll looks heavenly but I'm afraid that it won't taste as good as it looks, so I haven't tried it. Love the scones, especially the tart cherry. I was on my way to the area for an appointment so I needed my food quick! I have the panera app and it was easy to order my food and set a time for pick up. Parking exactly in front of panera may be hard but there is some side parking. They do have outside seating to enjoy the nice weather to come. When I walked in, I walked straight to the counter where they dispense food and asked Taylor about my pickup. Their pickup section was right on the right when you came in, I totally missed it but she led me in the right direction and told me to come back to her if I didn't see it.
