I placed an order today online through door dash. I ordered a large Mac and cheese and I received in its place two soups. And no chips. I ordered a steak and cheese sandwich and it came on a grinder roll styled bread. and not Bread like it's advertised. I clearly think I got someone else's order but they probably have so many people there they're so untrained that they don't know what they're doing and don't get anything correct. Extraordinarily terrible. We ordered take out. I got the Green Goddess Salad. Apparently when you get takeout, they retrieve an old, pre-packaged salad from the back of the fridge, throw it in a bag, and hope you don't complain. The salad was rotten and inedible. The wilted, brown lettuce was floating in some kind of brownish liquid at the bottom of the container. The chicken was old, squishy, and coated in some kind of suspicious liquid. There was almost no dressing at all - although they gave me TWO cups for dressing, each cup had maybe 1/4 teaspoon of dressing. Not sure what happened there. I threw the entire thing in the garbage. Do not go to Panera in Chicopee. I ordered a double steak and cheese, Marta ordered two chicken salad sandwiches. When I got home there were four chicken salad sandwiches, I had no meat or cheese in the sandwich. I spoke with the manager and she was combative from word go. She claimed that I screwed up half my order but not the other half and just argued that it was all our fault. Management sets the tone. If you've read my reviews, you know how I feel about management in chain and all restaurant businesses. Bravo to the manager at the Chicopee MA Panera who was circulating the dining room. I was literally trying to figure out how to make a comment on Facebook about my fruit cup that was only half full. When she asked if I needed anything, I Presented her with my half full cup and she responded in a way that showed she understood my problem. She responded with a full cup. I just hope that she spoke to her workers and didn't just fix the problem herself. The Teriyaki chicken grain bowl (or whatever it is called) was delicious as was the fresh fruit cup. I enjoyed this healthy grain and healthy carb meal. Thanks for the good management training (I'm assuming) that you provide. read more

My wife and I went in a little after 9 for some dinner, as we often do. The staff that waited on us, Shawn, was clearly perturbed by our existence. He was cutting us off while ordering to ask the next question, pounding away on the touch pad like a court stenographer all while tapping his fingers from his other hand on the counter as if he wanted to advertise his irritation. Now I know it was almost closing time and he probably wanted to get out of there, but treating people as if they are bothering you to do what you are literally there to do, is unacceptable. Once it came down to him asking if we wanted any drinks, he had made the situation so uncomfortable we declined. The staff that made our food was super nice and assured us that it was okay that we came in close to closing time. Food was good as expected, we always order the same thing. Fast forward to ordering cookies. I went over to the bakery area, and our irritated friend Shawn was there to wait on him. I said excuse me i would like to get some cookies. Shawn was looking at a paper, looked up to see who was talking and sighed as if lost his check at the races. He threw the paper down, and ran back over to the touch pad and began practicing for stenographer olympics again. I kindly let him know that all the extra antics were not needed, and reminded him all i wanted was to purchase some cookies. Shawn interrupted to apologize, but his demeanor did not change one bit. A lady who appeared to be the manager was there, but she seemed way to stressed with whatever paperwork was consuming her attention and having a solo conversation with to address this employees behavior with her. We will definitely return because we are frequent flyers, but hopefully Shawn will have landed his dream stenographer job by our next visit because if he's there we will not be. 3 stars for the nice man who made our food, 0 for Shawn and the manager who was oblivious to see what was going on. read more

Unprofessional manager. Somehow our order got forgotten or lost and we waited almost 20 minutes. When inquiring about our order the manager was rude, snarky, and did not even do as much as apologize. My watermelon feta salad, a seasonal special, tasted like watered-down watermelon and salty cheese and green stuff, so basically good, if a bit heavy on the squeaky crunchy grainy stuff (perhaps quinoa?). They probably don't have a guy in the back carving up whole watermelons, so I'll call it a fine salad. Normally, at fast-casual places, I find the portions to be huge. This was, instead, a perfectly normal portion. The woman taking orders was patient with our ridiculous enthusiasm about being at a Panera at 3 p.m. on a Friday afternoon buying lunch, so that was good, too. My husband had precisely nothing to say about his sandwich (and he loves everything), so I think it safe to assume he was not particularly enthused (or appalled). I tried the iced green tea and it tasted like sewage (OK, probably a moldy spigot), so I switched to Dr Pepper. No mold! Yay! read more

Manager (?) old lady, blue polo, was completely condescending and rude in explaining how 'you know you're in Panera and there's gluten all over the store' when dealing with my having said I have a gluten allergy and would like no croutons on my salad. As a celiac person, I did my homework and my girls wanted Panera, so I knew what I wanted. I've literally never been so humiliated in all my life. I just paid $10 for their chick tort pasta and it looks like 2 or 3 chunk chicken pieces from a can, and even taste worse, either the brand has gone to hell or it's just managed that bad. I do go here a few times a week. Panera's food has always been extremely fresh and hot. The setting of the restaurant puts me into a great mood as soon as i get to sit down, grab my laptop a coffee and wait for my food. All the service has always been quick, by the time my laptop is booted up i'm able to sit down and enjoy my meal and do some work! I love the fact that they have comfy chairs and great design.
