Another horrible customer service experience at Panera. I walked in at 12:45 pm on a weekday and wanted to order 18 cookies. I'm told by the cashier that for such a "huge"'order, I need to give them 24 hours notice. I told her ok, I can leave, at which point she changed her tune and said she'll see what she can do. I pay for the cookies, and then she reminds me again that next time, I need to give them 24 hours notice. I'm thinking...don't worry about it, I won't ever be back. Really?? You add these cookies to almost every meal that you sell, but you can't sell me 18 individual cookies without 24 hours notice? There were 50 cookies sitting on the counter to be sold! Next time, when a customer walks in ready to drop $50 for cookies, you might want to consider greeting them at the start and end of your customer interaction with something other than a scolding. read more

Food is ok. The delivery is SOOOO SLOW!!! Twice now my girlfriend has waited over an hour and a half to get food from them when they quote 35 to 45 minutes on the site. Her work is only 2-3 miles from them, Drake Power Plant, but it takes over an hour to deliver???? I try to be nice and buy her lunch online and all I get is heat for their slow delivery... This Panera was great! I called in my order in advance and everything was ready to go! I ordered (my usual) the Mediterranean Veggie sandwich and it was great as always! I also tried the ancient grain and arugula salad which was fantastic too (and only 200 calories for a half). I love the veggie sandwich because it is only 440 calories. TAKE FLATBREAD OFF THE MENU IF YOU WON'T SELL IT. I like to eat at Panera Bread BUT they are ALWAYS out of flatbread after 2 pm. I can buy a BBQ Chicken Flatbread Sandwich at lunch most of the time. But they are ALWAYS out of flatbread after 2 pm. Never have I been able to buy a flatbread sandwich for dinner at 5 pm or 6 pm. Is that too late for dinner??? Change the name of the store if you can't make flatbread. I hate driving to your store when you are ALWAYS out of flatbread. Are you unable to figure out how much to buy ahead of time??? Sandwhich was ok but I ordered it to go, got home didn't have my chunk of bread that comes with it . So now I have to go behind them if I go back and check to make sure everything is right. I wouldn't be tripping if they were busy or crowded but it was 8:40 and I was the only order and they still forgot it. So I know they def mess things up when they are busy. When I think about bread, and I think about bread frequently, I think Panera bread. They've got it down to a science. When I first heard they had bread bowls, my first reaction was, "Science has gone too far!" What's next? Cloning? Insane human experiments? Bread FORKS, KNIVES and SPOONS? Then I calmed down; breathed in and breathed out. I quickly grabbed by BREAD brown paper bag and took some quick inhales and exhales. This particular location has a clean dining area, friendly staff and all the food is prepared in a timely fashion. They have a variety of different soups like broccoli cheese. If you've have had this soup, you know what a game changer it is. I once was driving back from Panera with a warm bowl of B/C (broccoli cheese) and I saw a man on a bridge about to jump. Without hesitation, I jumped out of the car, soup in hand, and ran over to him. I said, "Sir! Don't you dare jump....you've got so much to live for." He replied, "My wife just left me, my kids won't talk to me and I just lost my job!" I actually didn't know how to respond to that, it sounded like this guy had a pretty tough life. So I finally responded, "Take a slurp of this broccoli cheese soup. If you still want to jump after trying it, then I'll understand" The man reached out for a spoonful of the still hot soup thanks to Panera's reliable and temperature-sustaining to-go containers. It was pouring rain and on a particularly dreary Colorado Springs night. The yellowy goodness touched his lips and his taste buds met the soup for the first time. The man decided to get off the side of the bridge and didn't jump, all because of Panera's delicious broccoli cheese soup served hot and with love! This place is magical, and my story (which is 100% real and not fabricated) is proof positive of this! read more

I went two times while visiting- thinking the first visit, the workers may have been very busy, as we went just after traditional lunch times. The second visit was worse than the first! My daughter and I stopped in on Wednesday, April 29th. She got a lunch and some bagels. I just got four bagels and cream cheese to take home. While we were waiting for her food to completed, a woman came in who I assume was an employee because she walked to the back, laughing. All of the employees were wearing masks, except for her. I found that to be completely disrespectful to customers. We got our order and left. When we got home to Pueblo, I discovered that one of my bagels looked like it was a fail. See the photo. I don't know what in the heck it was supposed to be, but I'm astounded that the person who put in the bag thought that it was suitable for sale. We go to the Springs regularly for doctor appointments for my daughter, and my daughter is a big fan of Panera, but between the unmasked employee and the failure bagel, I just am not impressed. I'm editing to say that I see that there's such a thing as a "flagel" or flattened bagel. Should it really be smaller than a regular bagel? Flatter, yes. I know Panera does a crazy busy lunch service and come 2pm, when we arrived there, the place looked like a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Dirty tables, napkins strewn along floors and booths. Suddenly instead of two working cash register people there was one older lady who said her machine wasn't turned on. She didn't offer a solution and just stared at me till I asked her, "Well then where do I go to place an order?" She pointed me to the register next to hers where a lady whose name tag said "trainer" stood chatting with another employee. Maybe she was decompressing after the lunch rush. Still, we shouldn't have been made to feel like we were causing some major inconvenience. The restaurant wasn't at all crowded. We weren't there just asking to use the public restroom. The food was safe and predictable. The soups will always taste the way you'd expect. I don't know that they're made in house. I don't know that I mind eating reheated bagged soup so long as it tastes like I need it to. The menu has become overwhelming over the years but I'm glad to see most sandwiches are now prepared fresh. read more

Came here today while visiting my daughter for the holidays. ..I have never had such horrible service and been treated so badly at a restaurant. My food order was wrong, i went to say something was given attitude by the girl behind the counter, I took my wrong order and ate it anyway. When cleaning up my dishes the girl who worked there almost knocked me over to get the dirty dishes never saying 1 word like excuse me or sorry to bump into you. When leaving I wanted a refill of lemonade I stood waiting for 5 min before the manager asked if I needed a refill, and did not put any ice in, just room temperature lemonade. First of all I placed an order 3 days in advance of my business meeting, where I had a presentation. I had ordered 8 sandwiches, and only received 6. Clearly over $20.00 worth of order was missing. The staff was friendly, but the Manager was curt and rude to us. Seemed that they were short a cashier or two. No big deal. We patiently waited in line. The Manger took over the cash register when we got to the front of the line. No greeting or even acknowledgment. She was obviously is a bad mood and basically took it out on us with curt single word answers to every question or comment we made. Figured better to cut our losses. So, I quickly ordered the pre-made Souffle. As she was grabbing it from the warming plate, the other cashier called to the Manager that she had already sold that last variety. Well, there was this pregnant pause... and you could nearly cut the tension in the air from the steam coming out of the Manager's ears. But before the she could explode, I jumped in and said, "No problem. I'll take whatever you have left." The Manager grabbed another Souffle variety and basically threw it down in front me without a word. Well, we paid for our food and as we headed to a table. Then, I suddenly realized that with all that drama in ordering, I forgotten to get my coffee. I went back to the register and the Manager wouldn't give me the time of day. I stood there for quite a while trying to get her attention until the other cashier at the far end of the bar noticed me and beckoned me over. I explained that I simply wanted a coffee to go with my breakfast, which was getting cold. She was very apologetic and got me a cup right away. This is THE only reason this Panera got 2 stars. I've spent thousands of dollars at Panera in my life - much of it at Southgate. Never will I again step foot in any Panera anywhere ever. This is not the first time this sort of thing has happened, but today was final straw. Lost online order. I paid for it with Apple Pay and got a confirmation, so presume I'll have to dispute the charge. Tried to reorder in the store with one of the kiosks. All the way through the order and then it times out after repeated "Does not appear to be a credit card" type of error. Literally just erases my order and says "Welcome to Panera." I try the other kiosk. All the way through the order and same thing. Now, finally, another customer walks up to me and says "I tried that one earlier and they told me it was broken." NO SIGN!!! THEY KNOW IT'S BROKEN??? As I said, this is not the first time with this sort of nonsense, so done wit Panera forever. No excuses of short staffing with this sort of shenanigans. I love this Panera. They have rapid pick-up and delivery. For people with social anxiety, you don't even have to interact with a human being if you don't want to, though the employees are very friendly. The food is amazing. There's a ton of healthy options. Any other location is worth the drive, especially for take out since it takes two trips and a phone call to receive your complete order. Usually they apologize and offer to replace it when u return. However, if the working manager is named Ashley, plan for five minutes of "we never sold a 32 oz frozen caramel coffee, I've been here nine years, blah blah etc" before she says, "oh, I thought u meant something other than what u were saying" Then if u reply, "seriously?"
