We are shocked by how dirty this restaurant is, carpet is littered with crumbs and garbage. We searched for a acceptable table to eat at. For this location a person would expect more. I've been a patron for awhile but over time, the music was so loud, it became a challenge to sit in this restaurant. I asked the Mgr(woman) to turn it down a bit and was told Corporate wanted it at this level. Really? That was the best response she could give? I checked with several other customers and they thanked me for speaking up. They too felt the music was way too loud. I told the Manager I am not shopping at one of those Clothing stores we all know plays the music extremely loud. Panera prides themselves on serving natural whole foods and I acknowledge this but based on their high prices and loud annoying music environment, I am NO longer a patron. I come to this location probably at least once a week. Depending on who I get at the register, it is almost always a good experience. Sometimes the cashiers seem bored or tired, but I usually associate that with the rush out tiredness I am familiar with from working customer service myself. You dont mean it, it just happens. I visited Panera Bread in Folsom tonight to purchase four $25 gift cards for the secretaries I work with. My co-workers and I pitched in to buy four $25 gift cards. I had a $100 bill and was told Panera Bread doesn't accept $100 bills. I didn't want to put the gift cards on my credit card but was forced to since the $100 bill was the only cash I had. The gift cards were sitting behind the counter in a card board container. I asked for two purple and two pink gift cards that said "Thanks". When I got home I realized the pink gift cards said "Thanks Mom". The word Mom was not visible from where I was standing. The card board case the gift cards were sitting in covered the word Mom. I immediately returned to Panera Bread and simply asked if they could transfer the amounts to gift cards that said "Thanks" not "Thanks Mom". No can do I was told. I needed the gift cards so I had to buy two more gift cards that said "Thanks" on them. Now I have $50 worth of gift cards I hadn't intended on buying. A very frustrating experience!!!! I will use my $50 worth of gift cards and NEVER patronize Panera Bread again. read more

Panera has got it together. Only complaint is that they could do with more seating because the place is always rocking crowded. Sandwhiches salads and soups are perfection, muffins and bread awesome, They have the ordering and pick up counters down to a science. The staff is friendly and accomodating, the portions are a generous value. Good menu, never less than a filling, satisfying and pleasant experience eating lunch at Panera. I ordered online for a dozen bagels and two bags of assorted scones. When I picked it up I expected the bagels to be in a box. I asked the manager for a box so I can present it better to my client. He said no problem. Andrew, the cashier, asked me if I wanted the bagels sliced. I said that would be great! She arranged the bagels with cream cheese in a nice box with handles. At Christmas Eve I ordered 30 sour dough rolls. Picked them, up that morning. At dinner no one could eat them they were so tough! I had 23 adults over and I would say we had at least 20 of the rolls left on the plates after my guest tried to eat them. They should remove these rolls from the menu! read more

I was greeted with thinly veiled impatience by a stuck up teenager. Get over yourself sweetheart, you serve bagels. We can agree money is earned by selling your time, I am spending my money at your location, SO do not disrespect my finite time on this earth with rude service while I am doing nothing but being nice (I'm all about showing respect and kindness regardless of how I feel inside). However, I admit I was on my phone when I should have been reading the menu. If I recall the facts though, I was in line to buy one of their way over priced sandwiches so she can wait 30 seconds while I decide. When picking up my order I was greeted by yet another snobby teen. I get she was busy but customer service is not rocket science and serving food is far from difficult work. Hunker down for a difficult life because if you can't handle the stress of minwage work, adulthood is going to hurt. Now all that is easily forgotten as long as I am well fed. I go to Panera Bread as infrequently as possible, but it's sometimes convenient and my wife finds them acceptable. Our dinner at Panera Bread after the movie yesterday was completely mediocre. I had the Napa Chicken Salad sandwich and squash soup, which was over priced and small on the portion size. My wife had a salad and the chili, which had garbanzo beans and carrots. I mean the chili, not the salad. Who would have thought that chili would be good with garbanzo beans and carrots? It wasn't! My wife and I had lunch today at the Folsom Panera. When we got the signal that our food was ready, my wife and I both left the table to pick up our order. We were gone 15 seconds and left our stuff on the table to let people know we would be right back. In that 15 seconds, some other diners came by, took our table, and gave our stuff to the "lost and found" (by the way, there is no "lost and found"). After asking where our stuff was, a cook said she knew where it was, and she would get it for me. But apparently, it wasn't where she expected it to be and she ignored me. The manager, who overheard my conversation with the cook, was busy standing there and collecting buzzers, let me stand there for a while longer. He finally told me to go check for our stuff at the cash register. I had to spend five minutes trying to get our stuff back from the "lost and found." The problem is both of us had to leave our seats because one person cannot carry food for two people because they don't give you a tray. We had to find a new table. Let's talk about the food now: My wife hated her soup and her Greek Salad. Whatever they did to change the recipe on the Greek salad did not go over well. And, according to my wife, the soup was tasteless and just gross. My wife never leaves a spec of food on her plate, but she could only eat half her meal. I had the same salad and a sandwich, and I didn't feel quite so put off by my meal as my wife did. She has told me that we will not be going to lunch at Panera anymore. About the cleanliness of Panera's dining rooms: This has been an issue for years whenever we have gone to any of the Panera in the Sacramento area, and it seems like management still has a low priority on cleanliness of their dining rooms. That alone is a big turnoff for diners and one of the reasons we did not go as often to Panera in recent years. The order takers are not well trained. They have gotten our order wrong many times. And other staff are often not very friendly. A restaurant and management that don't value their customers or make constructive changes won't last long. read more

Panera used to be one of my favorite places for a quick bite, but this location is a disappointment every time. The last 4 times I've gone they were out of baguettes. The dinner rolls just don't cut it when it comes to dipping in my soup. The soup options have also changed so my favorite ones are only available two days a week now (not this particular Panera's fault, but Panera in general... bring back the soup and forget the pasta). This one also has a weird layout and feels really separated. There are three different dining areas, so if you go find a seat while your spouse brings the food he will get lost. I've been to other locations that feel nice and cozy and inviting, I just don't get that here. It is a very modern and clean building, it just lost the atmosphere I like. This company and this specific store has always provided great food and service. Today they topped themselves. I came in to pick up my rapid order and found my order wasn't on the shelf. A first! When I asked about it, we realized I had ordered for pick up at another store. Totally my mistake!! Without hesitation, they quickly made my order and they called the other store to cancel the order for me. I felt so silly bout my mistake but they were so nice and just got on top of things to ensure I got my order. After I left with my food, I called the store just to make sure we were good with payment since I had pre-paid for the other store. They told me not to worry about it and to just have a great day. They made an embarrassing experience less horrifying for me and were so nice and provided me with the best customer service, I can honestly say, that I have ever had. I would give zero stars if I could. We go to Panera weekly for the same sandwich but they can not get it correct. And there motto on the sales receipt does not exist for the Assistant Manager Melissa, but she states she is the manager so be warned. I called Wednesday night after i realized they put mustard on my sandwich. When I called I was told the manger was too busy to come to the phone. But I was told I did not need the sandwich for a refund and could deal with the issue another day. So today when my husband went into get the refund the very rude and unprofessional Mellisa said she was the manager and that she could not help us because we had returned a sandwich before. I would not have to return them if you made them properly the first time, Mellisa! I then called and shared my experience with her and she continued to be rude and said her "no name" General Manager would call me. The first time we came here was just before Christmas and it was insanely busy so we decided to wait and try it another day. I'm glad we came back. Tonight the place was not near as busy but still doing good business. The manager, Stacie, was extremely friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to make sure we were happy. Our food, broccoli cheddar soup, steak sandwich, chicken noodle soup and chicken bacon sandwich were all delicious. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!! My husband and I ordered our dinner to go from the new Panera Bread in Folsom... very long process and the cashier did not know what was on the menu. When we arrived home we found our order to be incorrect. My chicken caeser salad was no more than a cup of lettuce in a clear box. It had no chicken or dressing. We didn't get one of the soups we ordered and the other was not what we ordered, but a different soup altogether! There was no bread (as promises with the soup). My husbands steak salad was too rare to eat and the size of a kids meal. The cost compared to the meal and portions was not good $30.00+. I immediately contacted the restaurant and explained my disappointment to the shift supervisor... she was really sorry. I was told they would put my name in a book and the next time I was in I would get a free meal. I asked if they would just remake it and we would come and pick it up and they said sorry we are closed. It was 15 minutes to closing and we live 8 minutes away? When I shared that with the supervisor I was told sorry again. I was very frustrated, so I contacted the general manager the following day and she too was very sorry, took all my information and said I would receive a gift card in the mail. The was a month ago and I never received the card. I would never return to a place that cannot follow through after several calls and complaints. Very poor customer service!!!! read more

Panera is generally a safe bet for a decent healthy meal. Overall, I find Panera to have good quality but a bit on the expensive side. I've been to several Panera's throughout Sacramento and the food is fairly consistent. However, the Panera in Folsom Palladio has the WORST customer service ever. I've given this location more than a handful of tries and each time the customer service has been less than satisfactory. Today, I visited the Folsom Panera in the Palladio and once again the service worker that took my order was either unhappy, tired, did not want to be working, or all of the above. After paying $7 for a cup of coffee (using my own cup) and a pastry the poor customer service topped it off for me to write this review. I'm sorry, but after a long work week it would be nice to go to an eating establishment where you feel welcomed and the atmosphere is pleasant and this is not the case in Folsom where as a customer you are bothering the workers. I did talk to the manager on duty and she defended her employee saying she had allergies. Wow! This type of response and service would not suffice in most industries if they want to stay in business. I won't be back and instead will visit eating establishments that want customers. read more

Do not eat at this Panera. They are by far the biggest joke of all Paneras. Walked in on a Friday morning at 7am to them being out of almost half of their menu, waited 45 min for them to cut fruit for a fruit cup (which you would think for a mostly breakfast place those would be prepped the night before) and THEY BAGGED MY FOOD ON THE FLOOR. I spend 45 min with only one person in line ahead of me (not surprised they were not busy during their prime time because the service sucks and their management here doesn't know to order more food.) when I called the embarrassment of a manager Gary to tell him that that was not right to be out of that much food he was completely uninterested and said he didn't have time to even address my complaint because to him "these things happen". When I reminded him that his staff bagged my food on the floor which is a hazard and he also said he did not care and that to him that was no issue even though he agreed he saw the person bag my food on the floor and his response was "well you got your food didn't you?". Gary doesn't know his head from his ass and the lack of sales and lack of business at the Folsom Panera have are due to him not knowing how to manage and not caring that he is setting his staff up to fail. When I called corporate to inform them of him not caring that he allowed his staff to bag my food on the floor they were beyond mortified and appalled at how defensive he when I called to complain. You don't want to eat at this location as your food was probably laying on the floor at some point before being served to you. When a "manager" or should I say Gary who doesn't know left from right doesn't care your food was TOUCHING the floor you definitely don't want to eat there. read more

Ok, well yesterday for dinner before our show at the Harris Center, we went here for a quick meal. I wasn't all that impressed the last time I was here, but decided to give them another chance. Glad I did! Turns out that my bonus for November is a free daily bagel, no other purchase required, plus their service was quick, friendly, and very pleasant. Not only did the cashier speak clearly to us, she was present! Then I went to pick up our order after we got a table in the back and needed help to get the trays to our table. A server came right up, asked me if I would like some help, and had no issue with helping me take it to the back. The Roast Turkey, apple & cheddar cheese on a cranberry wheat bread was delicious (my spouse had it, but I had a bite) and large for a somewhat more expensive than usual price of $9.69, but worth it. The Cranberry Wheat bagel I got for free was pretty good with the Autumn Squash Soup absolutely delicious and only $5.49 for a large bowl that I couldn't finish. So, after having a good meal, plus dropping by today for a Cinnamon Crunch bagel for free, I can honestly now recommend this place. Clean, open environment with plenty of seating, tho the booth seat cushions are a bit soft for me, friendly servers/cashiers, good food, and quick service. read more

Fist off I really love Panera bread! I have eaten at almost ever location close to folsom and the food is ALWAYS consistently good! However this is my favorite location! And it's not only because it's close to my house, but because it's the most consistent and best service and food out of every location I have ever visited! The staff are always in a good mood, the food is ALWAYS good! And the best part is when I order rapid pick up, it's ALWAYS ready when I show up, even if I am early. Not to mention every time I go inside, it's clean and smells really good (I'm assuming from all the really amazing breads they have cooking). I went in last night to get an order for my sister and I, and talked to a girl named Rachel and she spent time with me talking to me about where to write a review, and what to do with a survey if I get one! I frequent this restaurant regularly, I enjoy their bread and pastries, but the past two visits they were short ingredients. The first time bread for a lunch sandwich, the last time tomato's for a breakfast sandwich. Spending several dollars for a sandwich at a restaurant specializing in bread, and being out of bread is ridiculous; last time I purchased a breakfast sandwich that costs $5, and they were out of tomato's (seriously tomato's run to Whole foods next door and buy some). Based on the past two visits I'm discouraged to eat their again. I'd rather go next door to Starbucks, although they are fabricated sandwiches, at least they don't run out of produce! Nearby are other restaurants including Toby Keith's and FreeBirds burritos, they both have good lunch items comparable or better than Panera (for the money).
