Nice new and clean. The chicken in the Cesar salad had a weird seasoning. This was different from the chicken on the sandwich. There was too much apple & coleslaw and it made for a messy sandwich. I have been to this location twice and echo most of the other reviews. Service is slow, employees are rude and orders are incorrect. My first visit was shortly after the location opened. I ordered a salad. It took 30 minutes to make it to my table and it fair. Gave them the benefit of the doubt since they had just opened. Gave them a second chance today. Ordered a salad to go. It arrived faster today (15 minutes instead of 30 longer than I wait at other restaurants in the area). Got into my car and had the wrong salad. Went back inside and snotty employee never acknowledged that they messed up my order and acted as if I had changed my mind (despite the slip I thus bag not matching the salad in the box) There will not be a third visit. read more

Very rude people working there. Bad customer service. They treat customers like criminals. When I was in line, only 1 customer ahead of my family of 4, and no one behind, the staff at the cashier yelled out loudly for us to stand on the side and not blocking the area where the kiosks were. But there were nobody there! The staff asked me if I wanted any drink and was at other Panera Breads and they offered free coffee with purchase so I asked her if they offered the same. The staff there said "What was that? Never heard of that. I guess that means no drinks." Then later after my ordering, I found out they also did not offer 99 cents pastry when I ordered a meal with a beverage unlike other Panera Bread restaurants. Incredibly excited to have this Panera open! Not only is it clean, but the customer service is excellent. The inside is clean and feels spacious...plus there is outdoor seating. The have a variety of items, including healthy options! The service was pretty quick (I came in for breakfast) and the hazelnut coffee is pretty good. They have soups, sandwiches, baked goods and are vegetarian-friendly! read more

Advice: Check your order before leaving the store Food quality is fairly good. Items for rapid pickup have been there when promised. Like others, I also had problems with missing items, so be sure to check your order before leaving the store. CalledPanera customer service once and they said "this Panera store is independently owned" (meaning they don't have to adhere to the same guidleines as a company store?). Noticed Panera does not seem to have an online feedback process, or I could not find it. The bottom of the receipt says to let an associate know if there is a problem with an order - but there is no contact info once you have left the store. read more

I've been a loyal Panera customer for years and that's why I was so thrilled when this place opened up. I was somewhat disappointed at the beginning because the place was not that organized. After waiting for over 20 min for a coffee one time I even told myself to never come back. But I'm glad I did come back to see this place getting better and better over time. I mostly order rapid pickups and for the past at least 10 times there had not been any mistakes in my orders, which were always ready on time. I know this place is still quite some distance away from being perfect, but the 5 stars is for their great food quality and their big effort for trying. read more

So upset!!!! They bring me my food with a hair on the plate. The guy couldn't even put it down before I noticed the hair. I am a regular Panera customer. But this particular Panera Branch is the worst of all Paneras. Not only once, twice but almost ten times that I have been here, soup was always served cold, service was worst than BAD, people are just plain LAZY. Six out of the ten times that I have been here, I had to pick up my own food from the counter because if I waited for it to be served to my table, it would have been very very cold. BAD Place to go. I love Panera but definitely not this branch. I think the manager is just as lazy, or simply does not know how to manage. I'm a vegetarian and was never impressed with Panera's vegetarian options in years past. This week, I thought I'd give them another try. At first glance, I was delighted to see a few additions to their menu, including a quinoa bowl. I was surprised to see so little information on the wall behind the registers, but at least they had an ample supply of paper menus. Also, unlike other reviewers, I thought the young woman who took my order was pleasant and helpful. I ordered an Italian sandwich for my husband, a couple of blueberry muffins, a loaf of bread, and the hummus sandwich. I asked when it came to my hummus sandwich that they please hold the feta and the onions - which they did. The only problem is that I didn't see or taste any hummus. I checked the receipt and they had indeed taken my order correctly. The sandwich was skimpy with just a few vegetables, as if it was made at home for a child. I've made far better sandwiches at home. In fact, my sandwich was so dry and skimpy that I added some mayo and a slice of vegan cheese at home. My husband's Italian sandwich was good - he said he'd give it a "B." The muffins were excellent. The fresh whole grain bread was also quite good. So - we may return someday, especially for some fresh bread and muffins, but I'd be reluctant to order a sandwich. I can't complain about the service apart from the missing hummus. The young woman at the register was kind, efficient, and professional. read more

I very much enjoy coming to this Panera location! The restaurant is clean and there is plenty of (very comfortable) seating. The menu has a ton of customizable options and the servers are friendly. Definitely a great lunch option! read more

Came in for a cookie after a meal at The Habit. There were several people ahead of me using the ordering machines so I checked to see what cookies were in the display. I only saw one kind of cookie there but I couldn't tell what kind they were because they weren't labeled and the person at the register was busy so I returned to the line and a machine became available. It was easy to use. When I got to the cookie screen it showed several types of cookies of varying prices. I hoped the one I saw was a Kitchen Sink cookie ($4.59) but I wasn't sure if it was just chocolate chip ($2.99) and then I wondered how difficult it would be if I ordered the wrong one to either get a refund or make up the difference so I just ordered the KS cookie which I chose to eat there which added an extra 50 cents (!) for tax so I changed my mind to eat to go because then I wouldn't need to pay tax and $4.59 is enough to pay for a cookie so I got to the check out page and then the card reader wouldn't work and another customer let me know she also couldn't get it to work and then I remembered that I hate shopping at cashless businesses and walked out without buying anything! read more

Oh Panera, I have been fan for a long time. This location just can't seem to EVER get it right. Out of soufflés and bagels at 8:15, out of mac and cheese at 2 pm. Every time I place an order there is something they are out of stock on (that their app lets me order) There is a 50/50 chance something is going to be missing from my order, or something is wrong. Today i came back after 4 months of not wanting to deal with the disappointment, and again, out of soufflés even though the app said they were available ... not just out of one or two kinds, but out of any and all soufflés at 8:15 am. was told I would have to wait till 8:45 for my soufflé. Sorry thats not exactly rapid pick up. if this was the first time I could understand, perhaps there was a last minute rush on soufflé orders, but the last 4 times I have ordered a soufflé its been the same inventory issues. I'm done there are plenty of better breakfast options in the area that know how to properly stock their restaurants. Skip Panera and go to specialties, or Apple Fritter Eatery. read more

I went into Panera for a quick sandwich. When I first walked in I had to order with the iPad in the entryway... Waited in line for that as people were undecided what to order. Next I placed my order, paid with a credit card and for whatever reason it would not go through. I then went up to the front counter and they said I hadn't paid yet. Long process too confusing so I left. Now I just noticed my card was charged $12... please educate the staff on how to service customers, place orders, and receive their lunch. Waited 25 minutes for a take out soup on a bread bowl. When I complained, they said they ran out of bread bowls. Why not let me know before? Why allow me to place the order if they are out of stock? I was really excited to try this place and unfortunately came away very underwhelmed. While I did like the taste of their food (kids size mac and cheese, chicken salad sandwich), to order and subsequently getting the food was insane. Everyone who works there appear to not have graduated kindergarten...duh. I waited forever!!!! for my order and when it finally made it to the table, half of what I ordered was missing! Too much chaos-hopefully staff will be better trained in the future. Also, I'm not a big eater but I thought the portion sizes were on the stingy side (maybe a tablespoon of chicken salad on a whole sandwich?). We have been waiting over an hour. They didn't say it would take this long. After 25 minutes they said it will take 15 more minutes. Its been 1 hour 5 minutes !! It turns out that they have poor staffing for the long weekend, apologized, and refunded our money. Had they told us the wait time ahead we would have eithwe left or killed time shopping. Communication needs some work. Hopefully management Will get it undwe control cause panera is a great place usually ! Manager who helped me was nice. Better staff training needed ! I am a regular customer and have noticed how empty the shelves are at the Foster City location. In comparison, the Millbrae location always has an abundance of breads and pastries. This morning, I called the Foster City Panera to request that they hold a loaf of sour dough bread for me to pick up later this morning. I was informed that they did not have any left as they had only baked 2 loaves and both had been sold. It is 9am and they have no loaves of bread!!!! For a bakery to have only baked 2 loaves of sour dough bread is unacceptable. I would be interested to hear if others have had this same experience. read more

I've never been to a Panera that took this long to get our food. We placed our order at 4:52 and our food arrived to our table at 5:18..... that is an excessively long wait for Panera. At the time we arrived the restaurant was hardly busy as I would understand a long wait if there were more people. Do not recommend this location at all. I have only been to Panera Bread once and I highly doubt that I will be back again soon. You can expect lines to be very long and I don't even know why! The food wasn't great. I had the chipotle chicken avocado melt and the avocado was not fresh. It seems like it was sitting out for a good day or two. There was nothing appetizing about it either. One bite of it and I felt like I was eating salt. I really expected more from this place. One bad experience was enough for me. read more

This is my second time coming, got the same cashier. First off, the customer service is horrible. My family and I got bad stares which is unwelcoming. Not surprised that most of the reviews for this location are bad. I went there 2 weeks ago and was highly disappointed with the whole experience. We ordered take out and were informed they were out of the traditional grilled cheese...really? its bread and cheese, so we ordered a different version. The sandwiches we ordered were not grilled at all and the cheese not even melted. We had to wait almost a half an hour for our food when there were barely any customers in the restaurant. Luckily, we ordered to go as the hanging lights over our table were filled with dust that would have likely fallen in our food. Our dinner cost about 45.00 bucks and seriously it was bad. Sorry..but for a chain restaurant you can do MUCH better. read more

I always have either a hit or a miss experience whenever I go here. Today was a miss. I went here for lunch and used one of the kiosks to order. I ordered a broccoli cheddar soup in a bowl, and a tomato soup in a cup (side of fruit cup, which was about a dollar extra). Now, fast forward to me getting my food. I quickly scan through my bag to make sure they got everything (because they have gotten my order wrong on numerous occasions) and find that they forgot my fruit cup. So I told them and they told me that they were out of fruit cups. I was a bit annoyed because no one bothered to tell me and I had already paid that extra dollar. When I wouldn't go away, one of the cooks finally told a passing manager, but I decided it wasn't worth it and asked for an apple instead. The manager hardly spared me a glance before proceeding to converse with the cooks about something else entirely. It was just super annoying because this isn't the first time my order was incorrect and they were so dismissive about it. And then, when I got home, I saw that the broccoli cheddar soup only filled half the bowl. Overall, this place has such bad service and the food isn't even good enough to compensate for it. read more

Ordered a bread bowl broccoli cheddar soup and sandwich. Sandwich was cold and it was the wrong soup. Asian cashier was RUDE!! Cook barely spoke English yelling and arguing with the cashier in front of customers. Don't come to this Panera!! Bad customer service!! Why give us the buzzer button if you ain't gonna use it!! Wow waited over 25 minutes for a cold sandwich. When I asked how much longer the cook said he couldn't even find my order. That was fantastic. I told them after to refund me my money so I could go else where. That took another 10 minutes. I love Panera but this location is horrible.
