Panera continues to be a decent place for lunch. We usually order takeout. This time we opted to dine in. There are several ordering kiosks. Since there was no line at the counter, we ordered there. The menu is above the counter and easy to read. We each selected the 1/2 salad 1/2 sandwich + side - the best combo in my opinion. The bread was sliced roughly leaving a hole in the sandwich. If I had ordered soup only, I would have given the experience 1 star. Ordered French Onion soup and a sandwich. The soup was served at room temperature with about a 1/2 teaspoon of grated cheese, unmelted of course. The sandwich was warm, as it should have been, and very good. Instead of using the pager issued, name was simply screamed from the back of the resturant. This was not a big problem since they had only 3-4 patrons, but going through the expense of installation of kiosk ordering and pagers seemed odd and counter intuitive. It comes with arugula, quinoa, cucumber, grape tomatoes, kalamata olives, Greek yogurt, hummus, and lemon tahini sauce. I also decided to add chicken. Crappy Panera Bread Update #3. Well, my wife and I have continued to go this Panera, because for the most part, they have not screwed up the Fuji Apple salad yet, but I'm sure it's coming. I always try to ensure to set expectation for folks so you know what you are getting yourself in to... we now go at least a couple of times per month and there is always issues...it gotten to be comical. One evening they ran out of bread, a on other evening ...no coffee... tonight was hilarious... the guy in front of us said he wanted a coke. The counter worker rung him up and he went in his way. We stepped up to order and the guy comes back and says "the soft drinks are out of order." The young lady behind the counter said "oh yea, I know we have tee and other stuff...". The guy was totally confused. My wife and looked at each and said "score"!! We are continuing to go to see just how bad they and suck at service or mess something up...and we have now been let down. There is something every time. Tonight I voted on them messing up the Fuji Apple salad, which they came close, but she won... she picked coffee, and they had no 1/2 and 1/2.... I stopped in here for lunch yesterday. My Mom and Sis gave me Panera gift cards for my birthday, so I've been livin' it up at lunch time! This location is brand new and I love that they have the kiosk ordering system. It really gives you time to browse the menu. Once you have placed and paid for your order, you enter the number on one of the "pagers" and you will be notified once your order is ready. They also have the in-person ordering and the drive-thru, but I prefer the kiosk. I almost always get a "pick 2" of a sandwich or soup or salad. Today I ordered the chicken chipotle avocado sandwich and the Cobb salad. Both were delicious!! I also received a giant piece of bread, but I didn't have room for that carby deliciousness, because I got a pumpkin shortbread cookie. I also love their Plum Ginger Hibiscus tea which is unsweetened, but is amazing. This location is definitely my favorite. read more

For some reason they just can't get my order right. They were out of onion, tomato, and the dressing I wanted, which you will see on my receipt. I wanted it all but they didn't have it. Then I specifically asked for no bacon, which she documented, and my salad is covered in bacon. How difficult is it to look at a screen, and put ingredients on a salad. Murky, room temp soup, something that looked like a piece of cold tough chicken thrown in between two slices of bread, trash piling up everywhere, and the only drink options were sodas. We've been customers at this location since it opened. We have eaten inside and used the pick-up at least once a month. It's expensive but I am aware of this and accept this fact before placing the order. Not sure why anyone would complain about the cost. We have never not received what we have ordered. For a long time Panera Bread has been a favorite place to eat. This location is the worst. Service is slow. Your food is cold when you get. Customer service is non-existent. I was told the reason service is slow is that they are short staffed. We have been in a pandemic for almost 18 months. By now they should have figured out how to make this work for them. Chick-fila is booming. Stop making excuses and use your imagination or management skills that got you the job. I don't mind waiting because the food is good but if I have to wait almost an hour to find my food cold that is unacceptable. On top of the workers do not seem happy. We'll here's another food Resturant disappointment. Have been going to Panera Bread over 5 years was excited when they opened a store in My area of Clayton. Unfortunately there service has started declining. Several times have visited during dinner time, not looking to drive though, but actually to sit down and dine in. Several times have found you might as well forget going during early evening because they are out of bread as choice with soup. This evening went there and the have changed their whole menu. You would think they were the new subway. They eliminate the pizza, a favorite for kids. For a place that has a bakery you would think the would have enough breads for all meals. Instead we choose another option to substitute for baguette but it was not in the bag when we got home. That's really too bad because they had a good brand. Also, I''m not opposed to drive through, in this fast passed culture but how hard is it to get the order right and everything in the bag! What causes that... well the supervisor told me they were very busy when we ordered .... My wife, who was frustrated she did not get all her order, watched several workers standing around talking to each other and on iPhones while she waited for the order. I was told to bring the receipt in next time and receive a piece of bread! Wow thanks a lot, how about just a little more diligence in getting the order complete. I haven't had any issues with this location. Their service has always been great. I've been reading the comments about this place having bad service, my only guess is that the people in charge have stepped up and fixed the problem because it's been great for me so far. I usually don't write reviews for "good" or "great" services, but my last visit was just excellent. My wife, kids and myself went for a late morning breakfast. We were really pleased by the attentiveness and professionalism of the lady that was helping us. I've had nothing but positive experiences here, and considering I live around the corner- I'm a frequent flyer. I standardly order the same thing (you pick 2!), and while Panera is significantly pricier than normal fast food, the food is just better. My sandwich is always fresh and NOT thrown together, the soups are always delicious, and when I get a salad it's always crisp and crunchy! Went to Panera today to order a coffee with vanilla and was told they didn't have vanilla. I then asked for an iced vanilla latte and they said that they don't have vanilla at all. I asked if they were out of vanilla? The lady at the drive thru informed me that they weren't out, but that they don't carry vanilla at all at their location -- that it was only at select locations. I have never heard of such a thing. I know it is not the employee's fault and I am not upset with them. I thought Panera was trying to compete with Starbucks? They will lose major business on not carrying these types of drinks in their restaurants. I will just take my business to Starbucks, Dunkin', or McDonalds. How does McDonalds have vanilla but Panera does not. That is mind-blowing to me. I will not be returning. read more
