Very disappointed with my mango smoothie. In fact, there was no mango flavor, just tasted like yogurt. It was a waste of $6 that could have been on some charged lemonades or any other drink true to their names. The strawberry banana smoothie had an overpowering banana flavor-- still more flavor than my mango smoothie. Besides this, the place was clean, and decor minimal. The staff sounded nice though. The value duet cost I guess is regional because it is a dollar less here ($6.99) than the Panera at my college. read more

I used the self serve computer at the front to order my meal and asked the old lady at the front counter was where I collected my cup. She huffed and pointed "over there" so I clarified that I meant cups, not the drink machine, and she simply repeated "over there." So I waited for my food to see if the people making the sandwiches suddenly started giving out cups. Shockingly, yes. The old lady just didn't bother clarifying the difference between the drink machine I referenced, and the workers who made the food giving out actual cups. Considering there was no line, not even anyone walking up behind me, clarification would have been courteous, but I guess that's too much to ask. The food was good, no issues there, and the workers who made my food got my drink for me. Good location for takeout like online order and pickup or even delivery, but the customer service leaves much to be desired. But seriously, pretentious and uppity. Very annoying and not the best fit for a lunch time worker. read more

We have used this panera often in the past, but it has really lost its way. I think a new manager or something is needed. We ordered a large coffee and two breakfast sandwiches off the mobile app. No changes or special instructions. It said be ready in 10 min. 25 minutes later we got the sandwiches and coffee.. However dark and light roast coffee dispensers were empty and there were no covers for med or large coffees.... Then when we got to the car and were driving down the road, we found out that both of the sandwiches were wrong.. Although our name was on the bag.. I guess someone else had a surprise as well this morning. Hopefully this place gets turned around, it is in a good location when in the Glen Allen area of Richmond. read more

I went to Panera for breakfast and the manager Jen was very rude. I ordered on the kiosk and when my name was called the order was wrong and when I told her she rolled her eyes and said no it wasn't and walked away. All of the other staff was super helpful and were trying to figure out have they could help me. She was also rude to her staff when they were trying to figure out the issue and was making the situation even more stressful than it needed to be. Do better next time! read more

Pictures can be very deceiving. The picture with the writing on it is what I ordered, but it came out much differently than expected. For a high cost sandwich I expected to have more than a half a slice of bacon and cheese on it. I visit Panera often and order lunches for my teams from there. This experience was very disappointing and I hope this is not the new trend for Panera. read more

I ordered pick two delivered I received the 10 veggie soup fairly warm, not hot but warm, and it was delivery, so I think it was warm when it left, they just don't make an effort to keep it that way. I received my sesame chicken salad, extra chicken, with NO extra chicken though I was charged, no dressing and I kid you not 4 slivers if almonds and 5 shedded pieces of cilantro. I know I counted them. I tried to email their customer support, but the website is broken and won't submit. I tried to call the location, a machine answers and asks you to press 5 for a manager, no matter what number you press you are relooked to the welcome message. I guess putting the issue here won't getting me the dressing or chicken in time to eat my lunch before my meeting, but hopefully it will help other business professionals from experiencing my salad sadness. I love Panera and this is usually a great lunch, but maybe just not this location. read more

I feel very safe with all the COVID-19 safeguards they have in place here. Markings for where to stand; a designated entrance and exit; hand sanitizers....Ordering online was easy peasy. I only wish there was more ApplePay integration in the app. It wasn't busy when i visited.- probably because of the location and the fact most surrounding business offices are probably not reopened yet :(. The cashier forgot to up sell me on the cream cheese with my bagel order - tsk tsk! ;) I added it to my order as a second order. I forget there's a drive-thru option - i tried the curbside and earlier time and it went well. I appreciate the fact they have labels on food for potential peanut allergies. With kids' orthodontist office across the street, I'll probably be frequenting this location often in the next couple years :p. read more

TL; DR: Panera fails to deliver an order 2 hours after placed, does not notify us, turned off their phone, staff rude when we drive over to resolve the issue. Fiance ordered at 12:30 PM for lunch. Order says out for delivery at 1:30 or so. Very frustrated at the delay. Order says it has arrived at the building. I go down to meet a driver, who does not have our order. Fiance calls the store 13 total times in the between 1:30 and 2:15. No answer at all. Order is marked as delivered.I drive us to the store. The store is EMPTY. We are reasonably irritated. We see that the phone is TURNED OFF. When we ask for a refund, the manager goes to give it to us, and then a driver points to a bag and says they just brought it back. They LIED about delivery! The manager, without a word, refunds us and hands us the food. An employee, who was not involved, inserts himself and rudely "explains" that they were EXTREMELY BUSY. As if that is justification for not answering the phone in a delivery business...let alone turning it off. I state that its unacceptable either way and as we're well off in the distance the employee cowardly invites us to "have a great day" in that sarcastic way that means "F you". read more

The employee working the cashier was very friendly and helpful when taking my order. The reason why I have to give this location one star is because my food was very cold. Since I chose to dine in, I was given a buzzer that would notify me when my food was ready to pick up. After sitting at my table for about 10/15 minutes I noticed the device never lit up so I decided to check on my order myself. When picking up my food I noticed that my order was just sitting there and I wondered how long it had been there. My flatbread was very cold. When I explained this to the woman that took my order she told me that she could have the food remade and I could keep the 1st order. After receiving my 2nd flatbread it was still cold and still did not seem fresh out of the oven. At this point I was already hungry and frustrated, so I just decided to eat it anyway. I was very dissatisfied. The only thing that I was happy about was the fact that I could save one of the flatbreads for lunch the next day. read more

I got a simple salad and specified no nuts which was on the receipt, well guess what there was a lot of nuts. Good grief. After a three hour drive, I just wanted a quick, easy dinner in my hotel room. I placed an order online for pick up at the Glen Allen Panera and they got almost everything wrong. I ordered a plain Caesar, no croutons, and it came with croutons and chicken (I'm vegetarian), a Baja Mac and cheese, no cilantro, which came with cilantro, and I ordered a bottle of lemonade, which was missing completely. Then, when I called to try to speak with a manager, no one picked up. I had to try three times and eventually had to choose the "place an order" option to speak to someone. Panera is usually a solid option, but this one was a disappointment, and there are lots of other options in the area. read more

I removed my previous critical review because this place has improved so much in the past six months that it doesn't even seem like the same Panera. The coffee is the best and the monthly unlimited coffee is a great deal. The new duets are perfect for a small-meal person like me. Service here is now generally friendly and quick. We told the lady at the front our order. We asked for smoky buffalo chicken melt-toasted baguettes and instead she ordered 2 spicy chicken sandwich. We had also ordered 2 waters with the meal and the receipt says no drinks. Also the the cashier had an attitude because we aren't Panera professionals. There is no reason for messing up an order that bad. read more

I have to say this particular location is quick and the food has a great taste. The customer service is good. They get your order pretty fast and do not try to over sell you on products. Theres also free wifi with no limit, a great fireplace to enjoy those cold winter days. The location is very clean, especially the bathroom. I recommend this location. 4 stars. read more

I'm never disappointed with Panera! There's so many options and the you pick two makes double the options available!! Breakfast=Check, Lunch=Check, Dinner=Check, Dessert=Check! It has it all. The calorie information is on the menu right there so you can see what you're getting yourself into, because lets me honest, it sounds healthy, but NOT EVERYTHING at Panera is haha. Especially those delish pastries. Yummm! Normally I grab my meals to go using the rapid rush option on line. You place your order, and in 10 minutes it's ready, waiting on the shelf! No line, No crowds, just grab your bag and go. (Well make sure it's yours and that its correct). The more you use your panera card, the more perks you get as well. I get multiple $2 off here and free coffee and pastries there in a month. They've had a promo all of April where you get a free coffee everyday! Ummm YES Please!! I dont think my coworkers appreciate it during the afternoon as my "buzz" hits and makes me talk more than normal!! Sorry guys ;) read more

Whenever I am feeling sick or icky I head to Panera for some of their soup to make me feel better. All their soups are so yummy and full of fresh ingredients. This location is always bustling and full of people. The service here is always great. Their staff is always smiling and cheerful. Panera always has a new menu item every season to try. My most recent visit was just for some tomato soup and a grilled cheese. So simple but delicious. Panera's tomato soup is so creamy and filling and is complimented with croutons that embellish the savory soup. Their homemade bread and use of high quality cheese makes a child hood classic staple taste like a million bucks. I can always depend on Panera to make me feel a tad bit better with their signature soups. read more

I decided to order a delivery order for lunch today. I ordered a tomato soup and a chicken Caesar salad. When it arrived there was no spoon to eat my soup, and the dressing for my salad was nowhere to be found. Who enjoys eating a dry salad? I tried calling this location numerous times to no avail. I tried calling again and hitting the catering option to speak to someone. The representative that I spoke to took down my order number and mentioned that she sent an email to the location and they should be getting back to me. I have yet to receive a phone call plus I have tried to reach a manager directly again. You would think they would like to put a little more detail into the delivery orders as we do not have the luxury of going back up to the counter and requesting an item that was missed, super disappointed! read more

Panera lover here. Whenever we see one on the road, we have to eat here. This one was no different! Great service, fantastic food, always fresh and tasty. We got Pick Twos-- fantastic value and super tasty with hot tea. Great for cold Fall day. Also, this location has a fireplace great for curling up next to. Is just a regular panera but the manager is super nice! Sometimes they run out of dinner rolls and she offers you a bagel! This panera always follow the instructions of my order and they add enough food! I love getting the two by two or even a big salad! If you are getting a soup, get the bowl instead pf the cup (just because it is bigger) Of course the food menu is the same as other paneras, so not much to say about that other than it is pretty good! I wish it was healthier and that they had a bigger variety of salada! read more

When did they reduce the size of the salad for the Pick Two? When did they increase the prices? I used to be a regular customer of this Panera, but it seems like the quality is going downhill. Delivery is fast, but needs more attention to detail. 2nd order in a row has been low-quality. Avocado on sandwich was rotted (black) and cheese was missing. Also, the bread seems too large for the sandwich contents. Previous order a few weeks ago, the salad dressing was missing. I don't seem to have this issue when in-store so think a better QC review needs to be performed before these orders go out. read more

Ordered delivery through the app. Food was good and order correct, but was 30 minutes late. Cafe is 10 minutes from my house, but took 25 minutes to get food after the "out for delivery" notification. By the time it arrived the sandwich was soggy. Salad was good and special request correct. I got silverware but no napkins. Not even one. read more

Like every panera so no issues with the food. I ate in so I could study a bit and the food didn't take too long to be prepared, 5-10mins or so. Service was great. Whoever the young man was at the register was very pleasant and helpful, seemed happy and was nice to talk when I was asking him for suggestions. Clean and comfortable, it was actually pretty busy for an early Tuesday afternoon but the staff made sure to continue wiping down the tables and grabbing dirty dishes. read more

This location has friendly staff that are quick in busy times such as in the morning and during lunch. You never have to worry about being late. There's always lots of staff on hand to accommodate the customers during peak times. There are some other Panera Bread locations that I've visited that could definitely follow your model. I come often enough that the staff know me and what I like to eat. I appreciate how attentive the staff is. They offer special deals via the My Panera card. They have a very limited menu at lunch so you have a few appetizers to choose from, a few salads and sandwiches and burgers, so straight up American food. It does skew southern with crab cake sandwich, pimento cheese and fried chicken. For an appetizer we decided to try the wings. They were good and came with ranch drizzled over the wings. For entrees my husband got their farm & oak burger with Cole slaw and I got their wedge salad with fried chicken. Both were good. The salad was nice and cold and crisp, which was appreciated on such a hot day. It did have too much dressing so next time I might ask for less dressing or have it on the side. I enjoyed the food, service was good and it is a pretty restaurant. I'll probably come back for supper some time to try some of their more in-depth meals.

First and foremost, like most places, their prices have skyrocketed without much to show for it: small sandwich portion sizes and overpriced chips, par for the course for most big big sandwich joints these days. My sandwich was decent but frankly the only reason I left satisfied to any degree was that I had an app coupon to use; I would have felt absolutely fleeced if I had paid full price. Service is pretty unenthusiastic, and I get it, who is excited to be working in quick-service food? That said, many locations are friendlier, and Firehouse seems to be another victim of the competitive marketplace for hiring good staff. The one standout nice thing about this location is the tables out back, which are great to hang out at on nice days. It's a shared pavilion but so long as you come at a non-peak dinner time it is still relatively quiet. I may still return if decent app coupons come my way, but Firehouse these days is always at least three or four spots down my list of sandwich spots to frequent. They have fallen on hard times for sure. Overall: 2.5 stars ---- Pros: - Sandwiches are admittedly still good, hard to beat a good sandwich with nice sauces. - Seating in the back area is very nice on pretty days. - Good amount of easy parking. - App coupons make the value proposition a bit better...
