I ordered a chicken bagel stack through the drive thru, upon opening to eat it, there was no chicken. I went into the Panera and Megan offered to give me a refund, a new sandwich and a treat. I only wanted a refund. She also said she would let the guy who made it, know about the missing chicken. While she was at the drive-thru register processing the refund. I heard the kitchen staff say "bitch" and look my way. Upon bringing the topic up she dismissed it. People make mistakes but I wouldn't trust this Panera as far as you could throw it.

This is for the brand new location at Staples Mill and Hungary Springs (relocated from Staples Mill/Parham) So first off, it is brand new, so it is bright and clean. I was greeted when I walked in, and my order was taken right away and fulfilled quickly as well. Cashier and employees behind the counters were friendly. Bagels and breads were fresh and tasty With the new spot, there are both low and high top tables. High tops are community type tables You can order accounted or from several kiosks. There are 2 drive thru lanes for ordering and rapid pick up. Parking lot is easy to navigate My rating rationale +1 Service +1 Food~Taste/flavor/quality +1 Presentation +1 Atmosphere/vibe +1 Value

Typical Panera. Bread, coffee and sandwiches. I like Panera. I eat there often. They have vegan and peanut free options. The lady working the counter must have had her cranky pants on when I was there.

I'm giving this Panera Bread location a 4 star because of my experience with their "Rapid Order" option & because they have my favorite soup on their menu. I was a little hesitant to eat here again, but when I was checking out their menu and nutrition, I found out that they were serving my favorite: Summer Corn Chowder! It's only available during the summers. So I decided to give this rapid-pick up order a shot. I use the handy dandy Yelp app to order online and get that Summer Corn Chowder to go. Of course, the order isn't complete if you don't get it in a bread bowl! To my surprise, they freaking delivered (figuratively). I live pretty close there and they got it all done in about 5-10 mins and I easily parked in the "Rapid-pick up" parking spots (aka 5 min parking) to go in, grab, and go. Super easy and made it back to work within a reasonable time. As you see in the pic, I totally place that bread bowl in my actual soup bowl at work (with the little piggy on the side). Unfortunately, there really is no purpose to the pig, but just that it's sitting peacefully on the bowl - haha. Anyways, back to the food review. Just like the first time i tried to soup, it was delicious. I love their Summer Corn Chowder in their sourbread bowl - it's just so tasteful and filling. Overall, the rapid online order is a must try (it really does work) and the summer corn chowder breadbowl. I will be coming back at least one more time before the summer corn chowder is gone!

It's Panera. It's a nice, big Panera with friendly staff that has an efficiently moving line. Sufficient parking. Their coffee stays fresh. Their outdoor area is a touch smaller than other locations. If you haven't done so, try their bacon spinach soufflé for breakfast. ~$5 for 550 kcal, 20g protein, and several bites of glory. There's spinach in there, so you feel a touch better about life.

    "4 cheese" grilled cheese

Came to this Panera for the first time for lunch with a coworker. It was not crowded when we came although it was for lunch. We must've been the first of the lunch rush. I ordered the pick two tomato soup and 4 cheese grilled cheese. The soup was okay but the grilled cheese was over cooked with burnt cheese along 3 of the 4 sides of the sandwich. I peeled the cheese off and tried to eat it but half of the sandwich was rock hard and I could not take a bite. I returned the sandwich to the manger on duty at the time. She was not pleasant and barely smiled. I almost felt bad about ordering an meal that was over cooked and asking to remake it.... When it was returned, by the same manager, she still did not smile nor make me feel welcomed. Although she did ask if it was cooked okay, at first glance it looked fine, so this is where I failed. But I can't decide if the sandwich was better or worse than the first. For a "four cheese" grilled cheese it appeared to have maybe a dash of shredded cheese on it. I will say, it was toasted to perfection. But after an encounter with the manager that made me feel as if she did not care about her customers, I was not going to complain again so So basically I ate bread with a hint of cheese and tomatoes soup. Updated 6/11/2020 Gave this location a second shot and ordered delivery to my office only to be let down once again......literally the most inconvenient and sloppy cut job of the breakfast sandwich!! I ended up eating it with a fork bc there basically was no "half"....... Poorly prepared food for the 2nd time.

I stopped in for coffee. The coffee had been sitting for a long time (over two hours). One of the coffee pots was completely empty.

In my opinion this location needs better management, the food is ok, but the place seems dirty and needs a good makeover.

He had the fried chicken with hot honey, garlic mashed potatoes, and more collard greens. That fried chicken was so crispy and delicious. Had the peach cobbler bread pudding for dessert, and it was an EXPERIENCE. They have a very limited menu at lunch so you have a few appetizers to choose from, a few salads and sandwiches and burgers, so straight up American food. It does skew southern with crab cake sandwich, pimento cheese and fried chicken. For an appetizer we decided to try the wings. They were good and came with ranch drizzled over the wings. For entrees my husband got their farm & oak burger with Cole slaw and I got their wedge salad with fried chicken. Both were good. The salad was nice and cold and crisp, which was appreciated on such a hot day. It did have too much dressing so next time I might ask for less dressing or have it on the side. I enjoyed the food, service was good and it is a pretty restaurant. I'll probably come back for supper some time to try some of their more in-depth meals.

I had been telling my Dad for a while about how fun this place is, how nice everyone usually is, and how much I thought he would enjoy it. We were finally able to come together today, and he was genuinely excited to see the inside and have breakfast here for the first time. As expected, we were told the wait would be about 45-50 minutes. Fine. The place was busy, as it usually is, and we had absolutely no problem waiting. I spent years working as a server and hostess. I understand busy restaurants, long waits, and tables that don't turn as quickly as expected. After waiting about 40 minutes, I went to the host stand to simply ask for an update. We had watched people leave and groups continue to be seated during our wait, so I wanted to see where we stood. The young man at the host stand told me it would be ANOTHER 40-50 minutes. I genuinely thought he had confused our name with someone else's, so I explained that we had already been waiting for 40 minutes. He told me our names were "at the bottom of the list" and that people inside were moving very slowly. No apology. No double-checking the list. No attempt to figure out how a quoted 45-50 minute wait had suddenly turned into an hour and a half. He didn't ask if we were willing to sit inside, offer another seating option, or even suggest placing a to-go order. Nothing. He was completely dismissive. So I handed him the menu and my Dad and I left. Then, just 20 MINUTES later--not the additional 40-50 minutes we had literally just been told--I received a call saying our table was ready. I tried to explain that we were no longer there and WHY we had left. The second I said we had "left," I was HUNG UP ON. Honestly, that was it for me. Before that phone call, I was actually sitting in the car telling my Dad that maybe we could try again another day. Despite being embarrassed and disappointed after talking this place up to him so much, I was still willing to chalk it up to a bad interaction with one host. Getting hung up on completely sealed the deal. I'm not angry because the restaurant was busy. I'm angry because we were treated like we didn't matter. I'm angry because we waited patiently for 40 minutes, politely asked one question, and were dismissed with inaccurate information instead of someone taking 30 seconds to double-check. I'm angry because when I tried to explain what had happened, I wasn't even given the basic courtesy of finishing a sentence before someone hung up on me. My Dad and I have lived in Lakeside for over 30 years. We weren't asking to skip the line. We weren't demanding a table. We weren't rude to anyone. We were two local customers who were excited to have breakfast together at a place I had genuinely loved and recommended to other people. We will NEVER be back. And yes, we will absolutely be telling our friends, family, and neighbors about how we were treated and recommending that they go somewhere else unless they want to risk being dismissed, given completely inaccurate wait information, and hung up on when they try to explain why they left. Apparently this place is busy enough that treating people with basic courtesy no longer matters. That's fine. There are plenty of other restaurants that will happily take our money and, at the very least, treat my Dad and me like human beings. What was supposed to be a fun breakfast with my Dad turned into one of the worst customer service experiences I've had in a long time. I went from genuinely loving and recommending this place to never wanting to step foot inside again. Congratulations. You lost two longtime local customers in less than an hour.

It was not good. The salad came in a large clamshell container, but only half of it was salad; the other half was a dressing container and some extras like bread, butter, a peppermint patty, and some sort of weird sweet spread. It also came with a cookie. I got a salad because I wanted something healthy, but this didn't fit the bill. I wanted it to have more greens, but it was mostly toppings, especially chicken, such that the salad was out of balance. I liked the crunchy tortilla strips. I skipped the dressing; it was a huge portion and would have completely overwhelmed the salad. I tasted a bit of it and I'm glad I skipped it -- gross. I don't know what the deal was with the sides. The bread was two basic slices of white bread; unappealing, I skipped it. I have no idea what the sweet spread was for. The peppermint patty was a peppermint patty, idk what it was doing there. The cookie looked pretty good; I thought it was chocolate chip. But, it turned out to be some sort of apple spice chocolate chip which is a terrible combination I've never seen before. I would not get this again.
