I travel and typically love panera. Not for its food. That's ok. But for its feel and space. The room is great. The feel more than negates that. Panera is on the pricier side when it comes to sandwiches, soups, and salads. They have been limited in the past with vegetarian options because the only sandwich that was vegetarian was pretty sad, skimpy on the veggies. But now they have a whole section in their menu that is called "plant-based" which is super exciting! I did the pick 2 and chose the ancient grain salad and the tomatoe mozzarella flatbread! Both choices were fresh and flavorful. They have a great selection of teas and lemonades. The bakery has some good looking options, but they gave us a cookie that was as hard as a rock. Trying the turkey chili. This is Texas why would any restaurant mess up the chili? Panera Bread should by all means make health fresh fast food, but it must give it a taste, and a flavor no matter the meat. This turkey chili is bland, to many different beans that has no business in chili like garbanzo beans, Lima beans, corn kernels, carrots, kidney beans, seeing it is a turn off because I am spitting out these not cooked enough beans, picking out carrot pieces and just not enjoying the chili itself. We have been getting Panera salads thru curbside pickup several time in the last 3 months. They have been amazingly fresh and well prepared. The ordering on the app was easy and the pickup is quick and friendly. We customized the items and they are by far the best salads we have had in years. I have not experienced some of the issues that others have noted about this location. My recent dining experience here was a pleasant one. Granted, it was a Sunday evening and was not overly busy. I will say that it was a bit disconcerting that nobody was working the front counter to take my order when I walked in. No big deal as I decided to use the self order kiosk instead. The process to order food was not at all complicated. I did find the wait to be a tad bit long given what we ordered. In terms of quality, my order did seem fresh and was very tasty. My favorite item to order here is the turkey bravo sandwich along with their chips. The staff was friendly though I suspect that they are understaffed. The restaurant was clean. I just can't give these guys any more chances. The Kingwood/Northpark location is consistently disappointing. Every single time we order drive thru, something is incorrect and/or missing. The final straw was last Friday, when we tried to order online for pick up, and the order would not submit. So we went up to the restaurant to order, and both the drive thru and inside lines were so long we just ate elsewhere. The line inside was at least 12 deep, going all the way to the front doors. They had one person manning the register inside. ONE. Every single Panera I've eaten at is always on par, but these guys in Kingwood can't seem to get it together. Lets be honest... Everyone loves Panera. The quick service, the dense soups and the bread.. oh sweet baby Jesus the bread. This location has everything you would expect of a Panera but they are still working out a few kinks. This may be due to new staff or just trying to get into the full swing of things, it could also be that this location has graced us with a drive-thru. That's right. Soup on the go. I worked at a Panera way back in yesteryear and Ryan is right, all of the day old is donated to local charities. The food, for the most part, is prepackaged and shipped out so as to accommodate the standard 16 yr old employee. Obviously I love their soup, broccoli cheddar to be precise. It's comfort in a bowl and brings back a little nostalgia for me. I do venture into the sammiches but was a little turned off when on my first drive-thru visit when I ordered a tuna on wheat my sandwhich came out smelling fishier than the seafood counter at the neighboring Kroger. Not a very good Panera location. My grilled sandwich was seriously burned on one side...of course the side that was on the plate, not face up. The side bread felt day old, not as soft and fresh as I've had at other locations. I had never been to a Panera bread, so I really didn't expect much. The service was super friendly and the menu interesting but with few options for breakfast I was left wanting something more. I ordered the bacon, egg and cheese on ciabatta bread and it was pretty good, but also very similar to the same breakfast sandwich at Starbucks. The coffee was great and the location is very new, so nice and clean as well. The outdoor seating is nice and will be great to enjoy a nice afternoon lunch on soon! I'll give Panera another try for lunch/dinner, but for breakfast it's just so-so. read more

Service was good enough. Ordered the Caesar salad and tortilla soup. The soup was so gross! it was almost cold and feels like they just threw a bunch of healthy stuff into a bowl and called it tortilla soup. Overall great restaurant just beware of the weird tasting tortilla soup! read more

However, the location isn't as new as it used to be and, while my chicken-less chicken salad stares back at me, I wonder where it ran off to and to ask Panera myself "why did the chicken cross the road? I don't know but it isn't in this salad" Honestly, I would give it more stars, but only if they gave me what I actually ordered instead of either half of my sandwhich, or half of my salad. Otherwise everyone there is nice, they pointed me to me my now favorite smoothie that I cannot remember the name, but it has banana and some fancy spinach in it and I like it. I mean their food is food. I've had their bagels and it was adequately toasted and the soup and sandwich. I asked for an apple and they gave me bread. Even though it was in a bread bowl. lol. But whatever. Their service is great. The front staff is nice. But really I'm sorry quys but 4 small veggie cream cheese does not equal one large container. That irritated me.... It's not like their cream cheese is cheap either. So I call and call and they never have it in stock. I speak to a manager who said they would order me two large containers. Give him my number. Newest Panera in my area and it's a hit. Just like the rest of the chain, they hire nice people and serve delicious food - a bit on the high end of prices. The nice thing about this new location is the fire pit and outdoor seating. Will be nice during the "bitter cold" Houston weather! You know, when it dips way down into the 50s. I only have a couple of gripes on the area in general...cell phone service is the pits around there. Hopefully they put a tower close by so I can enjoy the outdoor seating while conducting some business. This Panera's wifi is not liked or trusted by my laptop firewall either. I swung by this location for a late lunch or early dinner. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich. It came out and was basically a ball of chicken salad that had been scooped on the middle of the bread, leaving most of the bread with no chicken salad. I spread it out as much as I could but the presentation was terrible, I was hungry and down the hatch it went. I cant really complain much about the sandwich because it did fill me up and had a good taste to it. The worst part was my wife's salad. She ordered the whole chicken Caesar. For a business that prides itself on freshness, I couldn't believe how bad the salad was. The lettuce was browning, almost as if they had mixed old lettuce with new lettuce. The dressing was watery and the croutons were stale. but not like stale in a good crunchy kind of crouton way. It was the kind of way that said, "Hey I'm old and I belong in the garbage" kind of way. If they get your order right then you're definitely in the minority. The food is good, but there is not enough of it to satiate your hunger. The staff seems nice enough, but management is lacking. This is by far the worst Panera Bread that I've visited which is unfortunate for me considering I live within a mile. If you have to eat here in a pinch it will do, but don't plan on coming here frequently as you will more often than not leave disappointed. This is difficult to write because I love their food (as long as they deliver what was ordered). Poor management, good food, inconsistent portions. read more

So I am giving this place one star because I can't give 0 stars. I have been many times to the one in Atascocita (which is way better). I got a $13 salad and I found a hair in it that was blonde and I am not blonde. So I called and the manager asked me to come back and they'll replace it. I then got another salad and guess what? ANOTHER HAIR. This hair was a short piece of hair probably from a beard (I'm hoping). I really just wanted a refund at that point but the manager insisted on making me another one himself​. I did not see him making my salad. The third time there was no hair but it's ridiculous I had to go THREE times to get a salad without hair in it. They don't wear hairnets which is why it fell out of the hat or pony tail. read more

Im glad I tried Panera bread and really happy that there is one close by to where I live. My first experience at this location was ok. I ordered the broccoli soup with a turkey sandwich and a apple. My Fiancé ordered the same but with bacon with his sandwich and chips. Our food came out like in 7 min, everything looked fresh and good but there was things missing. They forgot to put bacon on my Fiancés sandwich, forgot to include his chips, and my apple. So I went to ask for them and the employee was very nice about it and apologized. This is a new location so I'm guessing everyone is still learning but they need to get with the program. Other than that, the broccoli soup was really good, it had good amount of broccoli and wasn't to thick or watery and the turkey sandwich tasted fresh and delicious. It is a bit expensive though, I spent about $24 in total for portion sizes. Pretty crazy but the food is good. I would probably come by once in a while but not to often. read more

As a frequent Panera diner I have to say this location had the worst tasting food I have ever had at a Panera. The four croutons in my Caesar salad were not crunchy at all. In fact, they were stale and tasted like what I would imagine dog food to taste like. There was barely any sauce and my tortellini was probably thawed a week ago and served to me today. I chose to give this location two stars rather than one because of the cleanliness of the restaurant and how you can see inside the kitchen.
