I have been nearly a daily customer (sometimes multiple times a day) at this location for the past 6 months. I am a fan of Panera Bread, the food always tastes good and their muffins are really tasty. The staff at this location are always helpful and ready to assist. Giving this place a 5-star would be easy, but I can't because of a trend I've noticed. Without fail, almost every order I receive is missing an item. Usually it's utensils. Sometimes it's a side item. It's very frustrating, especially when everything is laid out on the receipt. All I'm asking is for you guys to please double check orders. Thank you! This was my first time going to Panera Bread and I've heard lots of mixed things about it. I ordered the small mac and cheese and 1/2 turkey sandwich. I honestly just think everything tasted okay. And the portions felt like kid sizes so I was still hungry afterwards. I also didn't feel like the prizes matched the food quality and portions. I LOVE YOU, PANERA BREAD. I don't know why I haven't gone to Panera in so long :/ The usual I get consists of a jalapeno & cheddar bagel with honey walnut cream cheese. Yes... I have gotten comments about how interesting a combination it is but really... it's just a hint of spice from the jalapeno and super sweet cream cheese with lumps of walnuts that I do not mind :) Recently, I tried the 2 for $6.99 and got the tuna sandwich with Caesar salad with a piece of french baguette. The food is good. I have issues with the service at this Panera though. Every time I come here, the employees seem extremely unhappy, and they never let you take your order at the actual counter. I have tried a couple of times, and they always just point to the kiosks, often without even saying a word to me. This has happened even when there was nobody else in the entire restaurant. Today, when I went there, I was again the only person there, but it took over 20 minutes to get my order, because after I ordered at the kiosks, the employees spent a bunch of time complaining loudly about their hours, rather than actually making my order. After about 15 minutes, I went up to ask about it (again, I was the only person there), and I was rudely told "we're working on it." I had only ordered a vanilla latte. After I went up to check, I then heard the espresso machine start going. They clearly only started working on my order after I went up to check on it. read more

Very disappointed with my service today. two stars because it was halfway good. We ordered a group pick up and my order was a take two. I ordered Green Goddess Cob w/Chicken (small but very good) and the Half Toasted Steak & White Cheddar (very disappointing). My friend and I ate Panera's this evening around 5:45 pm. We were very disappointed in the food tonight. I ordered the margarita flatbread pizza and a Chicken Caesar's salad and a bear claw pastry for dessert. My friend ordered chicken noodle soup and salad. My flatbread margarita pizza was fine. However my Chicken Caesar salad had ice crystals on the lettuce. It had no salad dressing on the greens. The chicken had a gray tinge to it. I didn't eat that. The bear claw pastry was stale. My friend had several spoonfuls of her soup and started coughing. Turns out there was a hair in her soup that tickled her throat and started her coughing! She took the soup back to the counter with the hair shown on the side of the bowl. She was given a fresh bowl of soup, but no apology. Her salad was icy and seemed to have no salad dressing. Her chicken had a strange color to it. She didn't eat any of the chicken. We stopped at the front counter to register our complaint. We told the clerk all that was wrong. She just smiled and said she let the manager know. Obviously we won't be going back there again. Note: We have eaten at Panera's many times since it first came to the Lakewood Mall. Never have we had such bad food and lack of concern for customers' satisfaction. P.S. The counter guy who handed the soup to my friend had long hair gathered at the back of his head. Panera is such a well known chain. The one in Lakewood often disappoints yet, I keep coming back. Mainly for the yummy deserts. I often find my food not being as homemade and healthy as they sell in the ads. I like that Panera often opens their dining room to homeless and feed them as well. First off it was so COLD inside. We asked to have temp adjusted and was told they can't adjust. We only had a sports blanket in car and ended up bringing that in to try and warm up. Other customers were going and getting coats and jackets or changing orders to go. Dining room attendant decided to take break. She cleaned her table before eating but in the 10 min prior she walked around or stood in dining area but never wiped a table. Service was SLOW as molasses. I mean how long does it take to dish up a bowl of soup....here 25 min. Broccoli cheddar soup was tasty but very salty! Ordered an apple for side but got a baguette. Whatever. Panera you have gone way down hill. You have lost my service until you clean up yours and can warm the place up. I am really disappointed with the amount of soup that was in my sourdough bread bowl.. it was barely half full! I just think it should have been filled up to the top or at least close to the top.. felt more like eating a cup of soup instead of a bowl. The food is always good but after the 3rd try because they mess it up and have to fix your order multiple times. The workers are incompetent, lazy and unmotivated. The last 3 times I have been there they have messed up my togo order. Today, 3 workers were standing talking at the counter where togo food comes out. I could hear them, they were meaningless conversations and had nothing to do with panera or food. My order came out (well 1/2 of it) and they ignored then finally yelled my name, without checking the inside of the bag at all to see if it was correct. When I said I was missing 1/2 the items they just stared at me. Finally, someone went and got the rest of the order but it took a long time. The food is good but the service is horrible without flaw everytime. Update. Sat in to eat hoping it would be a better experience and it wasn't. The incompetent young boy helping at the register didn't know what we were talking about when we asked for our change back when paying with cash. (???????) We asked for a bagel sliced and toasted and the picture is what we received. A manager saw me take the photo so he came over and told us this is what happens when the bagel is put in upside down and that he was going to talk to the kid. There was a small issue with my food & he didn't even blink an eye, fixed it in 2 seconds to make sure I am taken care of. He is the prime example of excellent customer service!! I thought I would give this place a try as I heard they have good salads. Sadly I'll never know. I stopped by the Lakewood store I was third in line. Twenty minutes later I was still third in line. An overwhelmed young lady was obviously out of her element as a cashier. At one point she asked for manager to get some change. Finally when the manager showed up I admittedly was a little frustrated! "Please! She needs some help" I said. The line was now almost out the door. The manager glanced my way and walked back to the line area and started chatting with one of the cooks. Another employee just gave me the stink eye look. I'd had enough by then and walked out. I love Panera in general and I live in Lakewood, so this location kills me. We just walked out for probably the third time over a bacon egg and cheese sandwich, which they get wrong three times out of five. We arrived and waited for probably five minutes while the lone cashier struggled to get an order in for the woman ahead of us. We were patient for what felt like an eternity, only to be told that they stop serving breakfast at 1100. It was 1103. The cashier then went to see if they could make it (three minutes after breakfast is over, which is understandably more difficult?) and they told me they would do it with a scrambled egg but couldn't make a fried egg anymore. He said "scrambled eggs are the only eggs we have left." I'm not a chef but that's outrageous. This is not to mention the last couple times when I received scrambled eggs having ordered a fried egg, or an extra sausage patty when I had paid extra for avocado. This sandwich is delicious when it's right - I can't imagine what makes this so difficult. I wish the workers actually cared about what they're messing up, but I agree with a previous reviewer - no one seems to give a shit about mistakes or unhappy customers. read more

Love this spot. I'm new to the hype that is Panera Bread but, so far my Spicy Thai chicken salad has been fresh and so so tasty and my Madagascar Vanilla Cream Cold Brew has been on point both times. OMG! I almost forgot to add their Cheese Brittany is like a Starbucks cheese danish but in 3D. I know that sounds dumb but, it is literally like that. Starbucks cheese danish is like maybe 1/2 inch with the cream cheese filling sitting in a puddle on top. Whereas...the cheese Brittany from PB is like 3-4 inches high with the cream cheese filling on top like a cupcake. So flaky and yummy. Definitely get that if it's in stock. Haven't been inside the restaurant yet due to good ol' COVID but the curbside delivery has been totally fine. read more

They tried to say I have to work there to redeem it and considering I haven't been an employee for almost a year now and treated with utmost disrespect to this date. This location is not a friendly place to go and Nena needs better management skills as a customer the coupon should have been redeemed as there was no restrictions on the coupon. I usually have no complaints about this location until today. I was having issues with my payment online so I decided to go in and just order. I order a soup family feast and it came out to 35.00 which was $15 more! I requested to get a full baguette instead of 4 bread bowls because I didn't want to waste the bows cause my kids don't eat it. We visited Panera at the Lakewood Town Center on 02/13/2021, after ordering food we went to seat ourselves, the restaurant was dirty and non of the available tables had been cleaned. I went up to the cashier area and advised them of this, the response I received from the manager on duty (Katie) was they were short staffed. while standing there I notice there were dog hairs all over the debit/credit card machine, when I mentioned this to her she said we could call the health dept. she proceeded to argue with me ultimately telling me that "you don't have to eat here if you didn't want to". I requested a refund and left. I've never seen such rude behavior. I called customer service requesting a call back from the Regional Manager and haven't heard back - that was two weeks ago. I usually stop in here to get a quick bite before choir practice on the rainy, blustery PNW spring days. Depending whether or not it's a military pay-day, it can be crowded, busy & noisy or quiet & calming. This time I had the corn-chowder & turkey BKT with avocado. Chowder was hot & hearty---really filling. The sandwich was good but I had to deconstruct it & reassemble it. The problem was the avocados were cut in a fashion that the sandwich breaks into pieces. They should look at slicing them in a way that they lay flat on the sandwich. I also had the lemon - drop cookie and it is my new favorite!
