Oh no. We have been long-time very satisfied customers of Panera--started going to the Lacey store when they opened years ago, in Arizona during our winter stays (& as they started replacing the similar Paradise bakeries there) & totally pleased when they opened this West Oly location as it is so much closer to us. I am pretty sure we go into a Panera at least once a month--usually for lunch & occas for a lighter meal in the evening. The experience is consistent--good food, pleasant employees and CLEAN. Not tonight. We came in much later (6:55pm) than our usual time due to grandson's baseball game. We placed our order and started looking for a place to sit. Due to late hour, I'm sure, this usually packed place was pretty empty but I passed table after table because they were ALL dirty. I finally realized there was no clean spot anywhere so we sat at a dirty booth. The entire time I was acutely aware of a group of three young male employees standing in front of the food prep counter who were loudly cracking jokes, yelling into the back working areas & totally ignoring the dirty tables. I kept trying to make eye contact so I could motion for help but that did not happen. Meanwhile, a group of three customers approached a nearby table and, instead of sitting down, one of them left & must have asked for help because she returned with a man who started wiping it down. Meanwhile. One of the three young men came to us and placed our orders down. I quickly asked if he would please wipe off the dirty table before we started eating. He appeared to find this hilarious, turned and yelled across the entire restaurant for 'Colton'. He then told us (between fits of laughing the entire time) that cleaning tables was not his job--he was only supposed to deliver food and that Colton would have to do it but Colton seemed to be somewhere else. Eventually a man (maybe Colton?) came by, we lifted our plates and he quickly wiped down the outer half of the table where we were sitting & ignored the inner half which still had good crumbs from earlier diners. My butter knife handle was very greasy & could not have possibly been cleaned adequately. Well ick. After reviewing a few other YELP reviews, it seems there is a problem in this store. As a former manager I understand how important it is to provide appropriate & onsite supervision. If there was a supervisor there tonight (6/19/17), shame on them. read more

I would like to compliment the Panera service I just received from the Capital Mall bakery cafe in Olympia, WA. This review is based on my order delivery today. Everyone I dealt with was courteous and professional and they personalized my online order to accommodate and honor my order request. I will start by saying the food is good sometime the lettuce could be a little fresher. My frustration with them is the service more particularly getting an order right....my typical go to meal is the chicken Caesar with a baguette and butter or a sandwich without mayo. I can tell you how many times I've bread no butter, butter no bread, or mayo on my sandwich. Yes, I blame myself for not double checking the order. Today I ordered my salad and was on conference call(hands free of course) so I forgot to check the order. When I returned to my office no bread but there was butter. I called them and they wanted me to go back 30 minute round trip no thanks, I just won't be back. read more

Delicious food, for the pick 2 , salad with chicken and chicken noodle soup! Perfect as always! Staff was helpful and friendly . Line was not long. Place is neat and clean. The food here is always hot fresh and delicious. summer corn chowder is delicious as well as the flatbread sandwiches and iced green tea!!the only Thing I have noticed after being a customer atleast once a week for the past 2 years is to double check drive thru orders . The food is great when they actually get your order right, which is usually half the time. It is so frustrating to order a bread bowl and to not get the actual bread to pour your soup into, or to order extra dressing for your salad and get home to find that they didn't even bother to put in as much as they're supposed to even if you didn't ask for more. I absolutely hate writing negative reviews (seriously, look at my reviews) but it is such a common occurrence here I feel obligated to say something. You are probably better off going to the Hawk's Prairie location. read more

Drive-Thru order taker needs to get fired! Ive been to the location multiple times and have never had issues until today. The guy had some attitude in his voice and I was not having it. Terrible customer service. I got judged for wanting a bagel at 7pm HAHA I was told "it's a little too late for that" NEVER coming here again. read more

This is the worst Panera I've ever been to. This is the FOURTH time IN A ROW I've ordered my salad with chicken, and they don't add it. Then the other 2 times I've been to this one, they have left something out of my order. I ordered for work once and we were missing 2 salads. Today when I went, I even said "please make sure to add the chicken because it never gets added" and sure enough, they didn't do it, yet they charge me for it every time. Oh sweet heaven - just avoid this place if you can. Not worth the grief. If you call from your car while driving you'll be instructed to download the app and order that way. Not exactly safe while in rush hour traffic! Also, they only make certain items on the hour. If they run out of souffles at 8:05 they won't put another batch in until 9:20 even if there is a store full of people. Even if you say you'll wait 20 minutes - nope. They can only start the next batch at 9:20. Also, they frequently are out of things I like. At 8 something in the morning I expect a well stocked bakery case. It's ridiculous. read more

Very disappointed today, my wife and I are frequent customers but we are not sure if we are going to continue to eat here. My wife had hot soup spilled on her by an employee and luckily she was still wearing her jacket. We had to track down the assistant manager to get a replacement bowl of soup and all we got was "sorry do you want a free pastry?" Which equates to "here's a cinnamon roll to compensate for your stained jacket" what a joke this place is. read more

Panera is AMAZING!!!! I love their broccoli cheddar soup as well as their chocolate chip bagels! My son is in love with their peanut butter and jelly and my husband even has a new favorite salad. They always have something for someone! read more

I went with a big order for a group of people. That included 5 soups with bread bowls. When we got home, (20 min away) we noticed there were no bread bowls. We called and they said we could come back next time and get the bread bowls since no one wanted to drive all the way back out today. The manager said to say her name, and what happened. We went back 2 days later, and they were unwilling to give us the bread bowls. Horrible service, and unwilling to make up for mistakes they make. read more

I enjoy the salads and pastas, but the service is hit or miss.. ordered a bread bowl and by the time I got home, the bread bowl wasn't even in the bag. The food is always good and usually the service is great too. But today the cashier Sydney woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Or at least I hope it's an isolated day. She was rude from the start. Had to wait over 30 minutes for my order. The cashier could not get any order correct. People behind me were getting their orders before mine. When I asked why mine was taking so long, the rude manager said we had to go out and get one ingredient for your order. When I finally got my order it was wrong. The service was very bad. We found out our order got lost after waiting for 30 minutes! But then the manager came out and refunded us then gave us our orders fresh. But in the end, we still were missing chips and Turkey Chili! read more

I went to their drive thru to get my morning coffee. First of all, they are extremely slow during morning hours and this wasn't my first time but it has been a while. So this was my mistake. But then, I ordered a coffee and requested to use my own mug ( stainless bottle). The person took my order ( female voice) said " we don't do that." I try my best to bring my own cup, mug, container to reduce my own trash for environment recently. I am not perfect but I try. I think Panara is NOT interested in helping environment. One thing I don't know is if they accept own mug/ cup use inside. I feel they don't... because they typically have ceramic cups / plates and utensils when you order and dine in. They use all disposable (waste) plastics for to go. They seems not help to reduce waste. This is very sad. Their price is unreasonably expensive that I will stop going to Panera. I have more options to support local business better. read more

I liked this Panera location. The food was pretty normal compared to the one in lacy and it was pretty well ran. It had a convenient microwave in the front too. I reviewed this place because I thought it was unfair that it had such a bad review. read more

Sierra turkey sandwich and tomato soup yum!

Oh Panera, how I missed you! To me Panera's are a symbol of home and deliciousness and this location gave me what I was looking for. I ordered the usual pick 2 half Sierra turkey and creamy tomato soup. I have to say that the food was just OK, with some wilted pieces of spinach (open a new bag please!) but since they carry the tomato soup, this place gets an extra star bc where I come from, this soup is "seasonal." Overall, this location is comfy and has plenty of seating. They also have a drive-thru, which is awesome and I must give a try soon! read more

Panera is such a great place for lunch, and even breakfast! I love their hot Sandwiches and also feel like because they have a drive through, it is easy to get healthier fast food options. I give it 4 out of 5 stars because sometimes they are so busy their tables at lunch can be dirty. Other than that, I love this place! read more

This location is nowhere near what Panera is at others. Kids grilled cheese was basically toast because all the cheese came out the sides and was burned badly. This was clearly an awful sandwich yet it went out. Also I didn't know Panera uses the processed "American slice" type cheese wrapped in plastic??? That stuff is garbage. You could tell it was that by the shape and very poor quality. Also my sandwich had avocado colored fingerprints right on top of the bread. Not so appetizing. Very disappointing. Came in on a Sunday night, so not much to be expected, but the place was disgusting. Dirty dishes on all the tables and food on the floor. Literally every time I come here they got my order wrong they forget things for my order and then when I talk to them about it they are really rude especially the manager some shorter lady with brown hair. Not up to Panera Bread standards. The food: Panini was barely heated. Ingredients in sandwich were completely cold and very little filling to boot. The water from the soda fountain was undrinkable. Tasted like it came from a stagnant hose. Disappointed as I generally enjoy eating at Panera. The Lacey Panera is a much better bet. Worth the drive. read more

Second time I've been there and watched the guy who carries food out to the tables wipe his nose, eyes and face in general, then touch dishes of food. Very unsanitary and the manager was standing beside him not saying a word about this behavior. read more

I tried placing an order online twice. I called the store to make sure they received it and they said they had, acknowledging it was a large order and would take a little longer. I call back 30 minutes later and my order is non existent. The manager tells me I can order again online. I asked her why she couldn't take it over the phone and she said "I don't have time for that." I said "isn't that your job? How am I not allowed to make an order over the phone?" She then condescendingly put on a fake, high pitched tone and said "okay what can I get for you?" And i told her not to talk to me that way. Her response was that I could order from the Lacey location. I'm supposed to drive across town instead of a couple of blocks away? I love Panera but am so disgusted with how I was treated. I don't need attitude to come with my over-priced fast food. We love Panera! The You-Pick-Two is a great bargain with great food. We particularly like the Sierra Turkey sandwich on focacia bread, the French onion, Cream of Brocolli, and Lemon Chicken Orzo soups; and the Greek salads. The smoothies are pretty tasty also. We also like the ciabatta breakfast sandwiches. The dining room is comfortable, and it's nice to have outdoor seating, even if it is in a parking lot. I wish I could get ranch dressing sometimes, but I'll take what they give. Hooray for Panera! read more

My date and I loved our meal at Penara Bread! The atmosphere was a chill, casual feel, much like you would find in a classy coffee shop. The place was clean and well kept. The lady working behind the counter was helpful and gracious to us, as we were first timers who had many questions. I ordered a cheesy broccoli bread bowl and a cinnamon roll. The soup was absolutely delicious and the bread was fresh! The soup and bread combination made for a flavor that was full and strong! My date got the Cob Salad with Avocado. She noted that the salad was full of chicken, bacon, and other additions. They did not skimp on the toppings at all! She also was glad she ordered a half salad, because she couldn't even finish it (it was quite large). The cinnamon roll was slightly sub-par. It was not very fresh, but to their credit, it was towards the end of the day. Overall, I was impressed by the overall value of this restaurant (our meal was only $17!!). It is a similar venue to Quiznos, but simply a different style of foods! My date and I were both pleased and we will return for more casual dates! read more
