On a hot Sunda afternoon in July, my sister and I decided to hang out at Panera to eat a snack and enjoy the free AC. Most of the tables was filled of people eating. We found a small booth closer to the front. My sister joined the beverage program and she got her drink and I drank plain water. I ordered cookie and sandwich from my app which was easy to use, Fun to watch other people at other tables. One guy was practicing his guitar at a corner and watched a homeless person linger too long at the Panera bread too long. The bathroom is clean and not crowded at all. Easy to pick up food from the central area. No pictures taken. read more

Food is good and comes out in a moderate amount of time. They have free WiFi so like Starbucks you might see many people sitting there for a long time working on their laptops. Also, frequently the dining area is messy. The main reason for the three stars is that every time I come in it's like they switch the food items or remove an item which I enjoyed. read more

What's up: It's free bagel month in December! Every day, you get to order a free bagel if you're a MyPanera Rewards member. It's a great way to try all the different flavors and find the ones that you like. Parking: Parking is plentiful and shared amongst the nearby businesses. They have spots up front dedicated to curbside pickup. Other than that, there are tons of parking available in the front or in the back. It's right near the Islands Restaurant. Environment: Masks are required. After walking in, you'll see the order counter straight ahead. Go towards the right and you'll see the Rapid Pick Up area. They have it organized alphabetically. What was ordered: - Blueberry Bagel (sweet and yummy) Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. My order was ready when I got there. I went straight to the pick up area and was on my way in no time. This place used to be very good back in the day like I want to say over 10 years ago now the soup taste like they're a can absolutely disgusting. A small side is $12.?!?! Four side of mac & cheese that should be the price for a bowl when I have a cup not even filled to the top for $12 is absolutely insane. The freshness is out the door and nothing seems to be as good as it once was here everything on the menu isn't as good as it once was here, the only thing that has stayed the same and consistent are the chips and water great place for free Wi-Fi and studying, but that's about it. This Panera is consistent and fast. They always have my orders made accurately and they're made quickly- even during prime lunch time. I'm impressed. place an online food order at 6:17pm and app said order would be ready at 6:34pm , I placed the order it because it would be ready at the time the app said , order was ready at 6:46 pm , i lost my lunch break waiting on my order because it wasn't ready on time they said, it is not my fault that the restaurant is busy. I was leery about walking in, because the door was dirty. The lady with short hair taking our order wasn't in a uniform. They were in a dirty t-shirt ( not a Panera shirt). And when I say dirty shirt, I mean filthy! The floor was sticky, trash was overflowing everywhere and the carpet was mess. No smiles in this cafe . We found the cleanest dirty table to sit at. The bathrooms were gross( no seat covers). Vibes are all wrong here. I don't know what changed in this cafe, but I won't be returning. No problem--that's how it is these days. So I pay. Walk away. Get ready to go fill up my coffee. I've paid for my coffee--time to get my coffee. Simple. Every single coffee dispenser is empty. Empty. Like bone dry. I turn to the young lady and say, "hey, yeah the coffee is all empty!" She, again, barely looks up and goes "uhhh yeahhhhh I'm a little busy right now!!!!" What is going on here? We went to Panera Bread at 12156 Carmel Mtn. Rd. San Diego We weren't greeted, employees acted like the were doing you a favor waiting on you. Ordered corn chowder & 1/2 Ilalian Mozz Sandwich Each. I have ordered from this Panera many times. Both the food and service are usually good. They do seem to be understaffed at the front counter. The reason for the three stars is because they have a Tuesday bagel special. However, when I went in to pick up Bagels on a Tuesday morning, they had very limited choices of Bagels, and the person working the counter said they were out of most of the beagles for the day at 8:30 in the morning andwould not be making more. Very bizarre to have a bagel special, yet not have any Bagels available. read more

First time trying this Panera location in Pasadena. I was in the neighborhood and thought to stop by. I thought the parking lot looked maybe half full. It was shared parking with a couple of other restaurants. Islands was right next door too. Upon entering it was super empty. No other customers just a few staff members. I had a T-Mobile Tuesday gift card and thought of grabbing something. Every time I step into a Panera Bread I'm overwhelmed with so many choices and I'm constantly chasing my mind. I thought of getting my usual Papaya Green Tea or a Bear Claw. I stared at the display case and something caught my eyes--cookies! I saw some chocolate chip cookies and thought that looked good, but something right next to it looked and sounded interesting. I got The Kitchen Sink cookie! It was a decent size soft cookie and full of flavor interesting flavors. It was sweet and savory, it had salt flakes sprinkled on top. Definitely worth trying if you're at Panera. Service was great! Staff was very welcoming! This location has both the rapid pick up or contactless drop off to your car. Hand sanitizer is right by the entrance and it works too! Came to Panera Bread in Pasadena while doing shopping and errands. All around it was good. During lunch time, on a Saturday, it was pretty full so expect a wait and delay in your food. Place had alot of people, however the noise level was calm. That made lunch be a bit more relaxing and enjoyable. You don't hear the background noise and rumble when your eating and having a conversion. Food was deliciously made and fresh. No complaints. The food is pretty tasty, however the atmosphere in the dining area is much more like a relatively dingy computer cafe because a vast majority of tables and booths are occupied by customers who are working on their computers for hours. This creates a situation where there's very little turnover and therefore a limited amount of seating available to other customers who would like to enjoy a meal with friends and family, chat for a little while and then leave making the table or booth available to other customers. read more

I've been going to Panera Bread for years. I did another Yelp review on this Panera Bread location back in Nov. 2019 and they're still messing things up. The item I ordered yesterday is something I've ordered many times, the Turkey/Avocado sandwich and I know how it's supposed to taste. At the Pasadena, CA location, they gave me my sandwich and with my first bite I realized it wasn't made right. It had no mayonnaise and basically no avocado (picture attached). I was told they had new staff. That's fine but train them properly before having them make the sandwich. I asked that the staff be shown the sandwich and talked to so that they could do it right the next time but the staff I talked to never talked to the sandwich makers and so they continued to make sandwiches wrong. When I asked for a manager, I was told that the staff are all on the same level and that there isn't really a manager; that I could talk to any of them. I've never heard anything so ridiculous. I wasn't told this by one person, there were three staff people standing there in the sandwich making area saying the same thing. Doesn't Panera have a manager watching the staff to make sure they do their job, make proper sandwiches, and take care of customer service?! I used to go here regularly but I'm done; I won't be back. read more

Over time this place has just gotten worse! The tuna sandwich used to have a lot of tuna and more bread options. Very little tuna now and prices have still increased a lot! Horrible customer service!! Had to come to this location because it's closest to the hospital where I'm visiting but I rather drive the extra 10 minutes to the one in Alhambra. They take forever just because they're gossiping. I asked for a bread and they gave me chips but I'm already at the hospital so can't drive back‍ they take so long to even get the order correct. Brought the wife n kids here for a quick dinner, since several gift cards from students have been piling up in my wallet. I've kinda sworn off bread for a while now, but figured I could get a salad. Somehow, I had no idea this was a "sit and write your screenplay in an iMac" kinda place. But there they were-- shoals of people long-term camping at tables and sitting in chairs set up like a cafe or something. The good news: food is great. I ordered a half lime ranch chicken salad and washed it down with various kamikaze concoctions from their lemonade/tea/aguas frescas bar. The blood orange lemonade with carrot and turmeric and kale and god knows what else is delicious, as is the agave lemonade. All good stuff. Kids got Mac n Cheese meals with a side of bread. Small, but so are they. Wifey got a Thai chicken salad that was also fresh and clean tasting. Couldn't help but feel like everyone in here looked like they were auditioning for a TMobile commercial. The quality of food is always spot on. We ordered the broccoli and chicken teriyaki bowl. My daughter ate the Mac n cheese. My son ordered the pick two meal and his grilled cheese sandwich was so small. For almost $6 it was smaller than his hand. Skimpy. Cheap. The broccoli in the bowl is essentially raw. We prefer broccoli cooked a little more so it is softer. Service was pretty quick as we ordered to go. I'd recommend except for the skimpy grilled cheese. read more

This is really hard for me because Panera was my go to place two to three times a week . Unfortunately lately the quantity of food has been a disappointment. I ordered a sandwich at Alhambra location new recipe chicken almond sandwich. It was delicious problem when I cut in half the other half had no chicken just lettuce and tomato What a disappointment I tried to reach out by phone no one ever answer's phone. I called customer service the rep did credit me $5.00 So I went to Pasadena location when I ordered I explained what happened She said she would put spread chicken salad evenly on sandwich When I was waiting for my order I overheard the preparer say they want it spreaded Well they didn't spread on bread and I was so disappointed I should have rated 1 star but I like Panera Check you food before you leave !!! read more

Background On Visits: I've been at this location a handful of times when I use to work in Hastings Ranch. Recently, I came here for lunch. Credit Cards: Credit Cards are accepted. Wi-Fi/Outlets: Free wifi and yes there is outlets (Just have to keep an eye out for them). Wifi can be patchy/slow. So with that said just tether through your phone to get you some wifi that'll probably be faster. Location/Parking: Located next to Islands. Plenty of parking for all. Ambiance/Decor: Nice comfortable ambiance with plenty of modern furnishings to study, eat, work, and catch up with friends. Service/Wait Time: Service is minimal besides going up to order/pay and staffers coming over to give you your food. Line can be long at times, but if you want to bypass the line... there are self ordering kiosks to order from. Food: Food is usually decent. I usually get the pick 2 where you can combine any two half portions of salads, sandwiches, soups, mac & cheese, or flatbreads to create your own meal. Price usually depends on what kind of sandwich/salad you get. I would recommend getting the pick 2 combination of the turkey sandwich and brocolli and cheddar combo. Soo goooood! So good that I wouldn't mind having this all the time. Drinks: If you decide to get a drink, definitely try out their exotic drinks. I usually get the prickly pear hibiscus fresca or passion papaya green tea. Very refreshing all year round! Food For Thought: Wouldn't mind coming back to try more items on their menu. read more

This was the location I tried the green goddess salad for the first time & omg sooo good. Even the paired salad dressing was divine.. it has everything you love in a salad in my opinion my description of a uniquely tasty salad having thin slices of chicken, arugula lettuce, some Romain lettuce, red onions, and I can't quite remember the rest of the ingredients but even every bite and bit of this salad will have you finishing this... The topper is the green goddess salad dressing is the must have for this salad.. This is a good spot in that they don't rush you out. They could have more electrical reciptocals on the floors near each table, but it's ok. One issue I have is, you may go in looking for their bag of chocolate chip cookies and they won't have any. They'll tell you we are all out, but it's like they aren't cooking any that day or something. Because if you're all out, then the next hour you should be back stocked right? If someone is in the back cooking it. But after over an hour or 2 still no cookies. So are you all out? Or just not baking them? Lol I don't know. But yes I just wish they'd keep those in stock especially since they are so good! Ok last but not least, a place this busy needs someone to clean the bathroom each hour. The bathroom stinks so bad. Once you're in, you just want to hurry and get out. No fresh urinal deodorizers strategically placed around to give it a fresh smell. That could help. But a routine cleaning would help as well. Service is solid. Speed and accuracy needs work. I used to work at this location, and everything is self served. Back in the day the staff had to bring and take your heavier plates, and we still got more done. I give credit to them because they will own up to their mistakes. But I stopped coming here every Sunday after I saw the oatmeal is lumped and dry when I get it , and they just take too long. I used to come here to study during college back in 2012. This Place back then just opened up so it was clean. Fast forward to today June 4,2022 and the place is dirty. I sat down for almost 2 hours and there was no one cleaning. Most of the tables had crumbs, with sticky liquids that dried up , the carpet was full of more food crumbs, tissue, and just gross everywhere i can't describe it any worse.really overall i was disappointed coming here. I ordered the broccoli cheddar soup and it was too watered down. Not creamy like i had before. I also had the steak ciabatta sandwich and the meat did not look fresh. It looked old. I hope management reads this review because they can do better and i want to come back here but they have maintain the cleanliness of this location especially since it is surrounded by nice businesses here in Pasadena. Improvement in cleanliness needs to be made and management probably needs more training how to manage their staff. A cleaner place and better food preparation is what i hope to see otherwise I'm not coming back. I'd rather go to the one in La Canada or Alhambra. As im sitting at the table next to the drink machine, there is a staff leaning on the counter with her butt. The same place where the food is prepared. I usually order my food for rapid pick up here and it's always ready within ten or so minutes from the time I place the order. For those folks who are introverted or don't feel like interacting with a live human in any part of the ordering process, then this is a great option. You order and pay using your phone or computer, then go to the rapid pick up area a few minutes later and take the bag with your name on it when it's ready. No human interaction whatsoever! If that's your thing. They have the traditional wait in line and tell a person your order option as well for those who would rather do that. There's also apparently order kiosks where you can place orders too but I haven't used those here so I can't really comment on them. The main reason I am not giving 5 stars is because the parking situation is a little quirky. There are a lot of other restaurants in the same shopping center so prime parking at most busy-ish times (lunch, dinner, etc) is usually taken so you have to park out back. read more
