Panera is awesome and I tried this location in Quincy since I was passing by. Usually I love their baked good and sandwiches, but I ordered the asiago roast beef sandwich for ~$7 and got the WORLD'S TINIEST SANDWICH (see picture). What the F---?! $7 for this?! Both of the halves together barely made a REAL half sandwich. The sandwich was great but I felt totally ripped off. I know this is not usual since I had their sandwiches before. Was going to give 1 or 2 stars only for ripping me off but I wrote to Panera customer service via their website. The GM of the Quincy location actually responded promptly via email and said they would send me a free sandwich certificate and fix this problem. Now that's customer service from corporate. Bottom line: Panera's usually great, they goofed up this time, but I have to say they have great customer service when you have a problem and email into their corporate website. Inside the restaurant was impossible to walk through, absolutely no Covid restrictions. Didn't know what to do as we had already paid for the order. Somehow this place is always crowded and chaotic. One time, I came in and got my food without incident. Another time, I ordered my food and was left waiting. And waiting. And waiting. They charged my credit card but I never received anything. After 45 minutes without so much as any comment or apology about my order, I got sick of sticking around and just left. After a certain point you just have to cut your losses. I would ask for a refund, but I did actually get something for my money. Lately the quality has been terrible, order has been wrong and salads showing up frozen.

The people are friendly and helpful. They always come grab my plate when I am deep in study mode and forget it's there. The manager is wicked efficient and customer oriented. My coffee was watery once and she replaced the whole container. That alone keeps me coming back. The WiFi is slow though, so don't come here with a plan to research. Come here with a pre-downloaded reading assignment or a paper to write. You'll be productive and fed, and for me those things have to go together. read more

Needs major work on their customer service! Came in to grab my rapid pickup order & saw that it wasn't on the shelf yet. I went up to the cashier who was this older man & he proceeded to argue and roll his eyes at me. He repeatedly claimed that I didnt look for my order on the shelf or that I already took my order! Pros: the staff is pleasant Cons: both times I've been to THIS location the restaurant and bathroom were horrible. I love Panera and know the standards of the franchise are high so I was disappointed. First time, I placed my order and headed to the restroom. I was surprised to find toilet tissue everywhere. Paper towels over flowing in the trash and around the floor. Soap droppings around the sink. It was as if they neglected cleaning the bathroom. So I mentioned to the manager that they may want to have someone check on the ladies room. Second time, I ordered and headed to wait on the food. I noticed a fly in the common area. Then looked over to the trash receptacle. Not only was it over flowing but the food and trays hadn't been emptied in a while and more fly's were chowing down on dinner. Management and staff didn't not seemed to be concerned when I mentioned it briefly. I'm a firm believer that Cleanliness is next to Godliness, especially for a restaurant. Where do I start? Yesterday I went to the North Quincy panera for my fri-yay chicken sandwich. After my first bite, I realized that the chicken was raw. After I requested a refund the cashier proceeded to take a piece of raw meat and slap me in the face with it. I will not be returning. read more

Panera is been know to have great food which I most certainly agree with however in two separate occasions they have gotten my order drastically wrong. I believe they do have many great aspects to their company but service to the customers is most definitely something in dire need of improvement. Disclaimer: This is not a real food review haha the four stars is purely for the super speedy wifi/awesome work inducing atmosphere lol and the BEST FLATBREAD EVER! Whenever I'm at MIT and miss the bus (everyday because I'm the slowest walker...#californiastrugs), I have several options. But if I used up my meal swipe for the day, I make sure to go to Cosi. It's never completely packed on weekdays, so you're sure to find a seat. I also claim a huge booth to myself and do work for hours. WIFI is awesome! Well, it's just the MIT Guest wifi. The people here are mainly MIT students/professors, and half of them are on their laptops working too, so you're not tempted to make "5 minute fb breaks". You order when you enter the cafe and they give you a number + bring the food to your table. Food comes super quickly all the time, big plus! I've been here a couple times but I literally always get the Signature Salad with wheat flatbread. I'm a meat lover - but this salad - omg is so refreshing every single time. The dressing is heavy, which I like (but for those of you with supersensitive tastebuds, ask for dressing on side), and there's so many grapes/pears in it. I love fruit yummm. And the amount of cheese is perfect - it's basically the salad I would ask for for the appetizer of my last meal. So if you gonna get work done and eat leaves, you should come here! read more

I like Panera but it's sooooo expensive!! Like 13 bucks for lunch is NOT okay. Staff can be okay depending on the day. Usually we get something that is special order and the staff scoffs at us and tells us that it will be 15 minutes. Points for having free wifi, which almost everyone uses here. AND the Mac and Cheese here is oh so good!! Definitely try it if you love mac and cheese. read more

This Panera is pretty consistent. They work with me on special orders and are always fairly nice. They do a nice job of cleaning the tables even with the high traffic that comes in. Only thing I do not like is how expensive it is. But I'll splurge now and again. read more

I really enjoy the selection that Panera Bread offers. The location in North Quincy is a spacious one, with many tables for larger groups as well as tables and booths for one or two people. This location is across the street from the North Quincy MBTA red line stop. They also have a large parking lot. I find Panera to be VERY vegetarian friendly. In the 10+ times I have been there, I do not think I have gotten the same item twice. Some of my favorite options are: *their bagels are delicious *tomato basil bread *honey wheat bread *spinach and artichoke egg souffle *Mediterranean veggie sandwich tomato and mozzarella sandwich french onion soup and broccoli cheddar soup *Greek and classic salads Many of their other selections can be made to order as well. They are very accommodating to making items with or without meats and cheeses etc. They have a good selection of pastries and muffins as well. I have gone to Panera to purchase bread bowls for chili and have also ordered loaves of bread for french toast. They have really good frozen coffee drinks and smoothies. Not worth the wait..... Panera bread is decent food, but don't go there in between the hours of 12-2 the line is just stupid. I have been to a Panera at least a hundred times (I am big fan of chicken noodle in a bread bowl) and have never seen anything quite like this. I'll give them that at that time it is bound to be wild, but when you get there its like the line for Spock at a Star Trek convention....its nuts. I waited in line for 25 minutes for a turkey sandwich with only lettuce and tomato. Basically this review is to avoid this Panera from the hours of 12-2....its just plain out not worth it. read more

This Panera is awesome. There staff and food are always great but tonight they went above and beyond for me. I was having issues with my Uber eats order and could not get through to anyone on the app. I called Panera to ask what are my options because I am too ill with the flu to come and collect my food. The manager, Brian, was very kind and understanding. He even expedited my order to be dropped off next and gave me an additional chicken soup as a courtesy. I have tried many Panera branches here in Boston or outside Boston area , even I have tried a couple overseas . The issue of cleaning should be a priority to any restaurant . But it seems this is not the issue in Quincy branch . Almost the whole restaurant is full of remnants of food , rubbish & used tissue paper . I watched the employees while preparing some sandwiches, he was using the same knife & gloves for all kind of sandwiches. I was only able to take some photo of the floor , since it will be inappropriate to go inside & take more photo . Breakfast menu is only available until 10 am , the rest of the day you will enjoy coffee & cinnamon roll only . I tried to talk to some one about the issue of the cleaning but they gave me that vision . Personally I will avoid this branch starring from today . read more

Service and food is relatively good but the allowance of a kid to bring in his whole gaming system - complete with giant monitor and drag down the wifi while he plays point-and-shooter games for hours at a time, and the haunting by the homeless, including a woman who right now is angrily whispering and cursing to herself in between biting her hand literally as I write this while sipping my coffee- make me want to come somewhere else when I have Friday afternoons to work from home. I am addicted to their Greek salads, they don't skimp on feta or dressing...love! All the sandwiches are deeelish and filling. I love their pumpkin spice lattes (seasonal, I think). The atmosphere is not bad, it is kind of like a warm cafeteria. Service is what you would expect at any fast food place. So I don't mean any disrespect to other reviews here but I don't know why health food is mentioned, they are not claiming to be healthy, just tasty and fresh. When I want a healthy lunch I bring in a salad from home, when I want to eat out I expect to splurge. Maybe it's just me:). Great deal for when ordering 'half and half', you can pick from a soup, salad, pasta, or sandwich. I'm always craving a little bit of everything so if I want soup and sandwich one day, or a salad and sandwich the next, then panera is where I go. I loveee their tomato soup. The croutons make the soup! Mac and cheese is also one of my faves. And I almost always order their chipotle chicken sandwich. If I get there early enough, I'll have a soufflé! This past weekend (Sunday when it was pouring) a girlfriend and myself went to Panera for an early dinner. We figured we could sit and chat as we ate and get a coffee afterward and possibly search the internet for apartments (she wants to move). While in the store I took a picture of her and the manager came over and yelled at me! Yes he yelled. It really took me by surprise and I'm sure he could tell by the crazy look I gave him. He did quickly settle down and continue to tell me that I needed to ask permission of a manger in order to take a picture in there store! I informed him that I was unaware of the policy and assured him that the picture was of my friend and no one else. He continued to let me know that it wasn't really a problem and that I just needed permission- I shouldnt just be taking pictures without asking! I have only been to the one in Quincy, but it is a great place to eat. There is sometimes a line and a wait, but they give you buzzers to let you know when youre food is ready. I am in the process of trying all the 1/2 sandwich 1/2 soup combinations. And I have also tried the tomatoe mozarella and basil panini. All of the food was good except the tomatoe soup, which had the taste and consistency of heated pasta sauce. Other than that you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu or in the bakery at Panera bread. (Their chips with the tuna sandwhich are a perfect combo) read more

I prefer this location to the craziness of South Bay. Lines are usually long here, most of the time. I guess that's a testament to Panera's menu. Anyhow, I usually just get the You Pick 2. And the service is lightning fast. I can be out in under 10 minutes. My only concern with Panera recently is the pricing. I mean even the YPT, when you're done picking 2, it's almost $10 for half a sandwich and salad. I can get a full salad for under $3 at Lambert's. I love the new Thai salad, but I really don't think all of that is worth $10. read more

Oh damnit Panera, I am addicted. The asiago steak sandwich calls my name at least once a week lately. I like that there are new things always popping up while the basics stay the same. This location is like basically all other I've been to. It seems clean, enough parking on site, ok customer service, and the food takes about as long as it does in all other Paneras. It's not fast food, but it's something in that same ballpark, yet sometimes it takes surprisingly long to get my food. Still, I'm addicted. Panera is typically a fantastic chain with consistency from location to location...until today. I arrived at about 11am to pick up some pastries for my customers in the area. Upon arriving there was one person manning the register and about 4-5 people standing in the food prep area or doing something else. The woman in front of me was taking a very long time and after 3-4 minutes there were two people behind me. Finally one of the workers decided to come over and open another register. Part of my order was a large fountain soda. The girl that took my order had walked over to the pastry area to start putting everything together for me. The manager was walking by so I showed her my receipt and asked her if she could give me my cup so I could fill it up while the girl was boxing my order. She said "oh, we're out of large cups. I can give you two small." I don't want to be driving around with two cups, so I responded "um, no I'll just take one." I then looked at my receipt thinking she would offer to refund the difference...nope she just walked away. Lastly, as I was waiting for a sandwich to be made in the food prep area, the same girl that rang me up was complaining loudly that she had never been trained on how to make a particular item. The same manager, very loudly, told another girl to train her. This location is not buttoned up at all and needs a visit from corporate to show them how to do things the right way! read more

I use to be a big fan, but lately not so much. theres always a line and the people that work there just rub me the wrong way. there sandwiches are good, and theres plenty of seating here. and the wireless is free and unlimited. so i will go here if i need to get work done but still get out of the house. I'll get a sandwich but i dont like most of the pastrys (which are one of my favorite things to eat) i also think that its nice to have a warm pastry, but none of theres are. and i found out. and almost all there pastrys have frosting on them, pastrys DONT NEED FROSTING. i found out through a friend that use to work at panera, that Panera's lemonade ISNT handmade. the most handmade it gets is lifting the plastic bag of it into the lemonade container :( i never had another lemonade again after i found that out. read more

I went to Panera last night to grab a quick dinner to go. When I got home I had frozen chicken in my ceasar salad and no cheese. So just lettuce and frozen chicken. You could actually see the ice crystals. Listen everyone loves "fast" but I would wait an extra 20 mins if the Chicken wasn't frozen solid. Came here during my lunch break and it definitely was quick service, even if they did skip us in line...I guess we walked too close to the registers (to see the menu better) and then the employees started taking the customers behind us. I got the soup sandwich combo which is a really good deal and filling--3 peices if bread helps! Not sure why the soup comes with bread when you get a sandwich, but oh well. I wish I had know the vegetable soup had tons of pasta in it, but regardless of that it was delicious and had a huge variety of veggies. Whiped the bowl clean with bread. Purchased the premium "roasted turkey and avocado BLT" ...bit into it and the turkey was frozen on the inside and soggy ice cold on the outside. Tasted horrendous. Seemed to be a lot of confusion with the ordering lines also, I really didn't enjoy the rants of all the people around me not to mention the menu is oddly placed..by the time you get close enough to actually read the tiny letters to figure out what you would like to order you hold up the line even more, cluster f****. I love paneras. It's great that they have free wifi. I am comparing this to other paneras I have been to. This panera is usually very busy and crowded. If you plan to come here to study and eat it is okay. But don't count on having good internet connection. Otherwise, staffs are kind and food is great. This location is clean. The bathroom isn't locked. My phone doesn't respond to their wifi though. :( I got the you pick two. The menu setup is different from before so it was a bit confusing. But I realized it is now more convenient for people who wants to know the breakdown of the prices. I got the chipotle chicken panini with broccoli cheddar soup. The panini was pretty good. It tasted like bbq chicken. I thought the bread would be crunchier. It thought it would be panini bread but it was just toasted white bread pressed like a panini. I likes the soup. It was creamy with the right mix of broccoli and cheddar. My friend ordered a salad which looked really good but it was ruined when her fork punctured the inside of her mouth... Part of the fork was peeling off... Hope she doesn't get something from it... Other than that, the atmosphere is good, the seating is good, the food is good. I love Panera, and this one is no exception. They have great, quick, reasonably healthy (for fast food) food, and everything I've ever tried has tasted great. Having a one year old son, who is not patient, and does not like to sit still for meals, makes it hard to get a decent meal at any restaurant except fast food. Well this is fast food that doesn't make you feel gross after eating it, and my son loves coming here. He loves coming for breakfast and munching on parts of my bagel, and the biggest treat in the world for him is to be able to drink out of the straw that comes with the orange juice. So major points scored just for being a place I can easily take my son too and still be able to enjoy a meal that does not involve screaming and crying and getting up to walk him around the restaurant. My favorite thing here is the "you pick 2" half-sandwich and half-soup combo. I usually get the Frontega Chicken Sandwich which is sooo delicious, and the Broccoli Cheese Soup, which is also very good. park here at your own risk! Even if you're a customer, you run the risk of your car getting towed! They towed my car after a long meeting, only because I briefly left the building to walk a client out and came back. The management didn't care at all that my car was towed, they were like "you're not supposed to leave the building". Are you kidding me?? I've been a loyal customer since 1992 since when they were known as "St. Louis Bread Co.", and they got rules for customers on where to go and what to do??? well, no more ... they are divorced now and it's their loss.
