If you're in a hurry in the morning I suggest going in to the store (yes, get out of your car!). Went through the drive through at 7:10 am for the first time and it took 25 minutes and made me late to work. All I ordered was 2 simple bagels and 2 carmel lattes and a tub of honey walnut cream cheese (because it's so darn good I want some for home!) . Not too complicated right? Yet they still managed to screw up the order and gave me ONE latte and a small 2oz cream cheese but charged for the tub. so they have to get a manager and do a refund to my card blah blah.... JUST GIVE ME THE TUB I PAID FOR! Wouldn't that be faster and easier? But since they already started the refund I had to go through the whole process and be "that a person" holding up the line. Shut up and hand me a sliced French roll with a side of tomato soup to dip it in! I was ridiculously excited when they opened a Panera close to my house. We've been going so long without anything fast available and it made me extra happy that Panera was a healthier option than putting in a McDonalds or something like it. Everyone at this location is really friendly, the food is always fresh and it seems like they are really very organized and even when its busy, it doesn't every really feel busy inside the actual restaurant. The only thing that kinda sucks about this location in particular is the drive-thru. It is really poorly designed. After ordering, you have to make a very sharp right in order to drive up to the window. I actually hit the side of the building and it made me want to always walk inside to order. Sweetest customer service ever. The manager (Devon I think) called after finding my business card and some of my stolen credit cards scattered along the sidewalk. Definitely somthing that could have been easily ignored or put it a lost and found and he took initiative and took it the next level by calling me to let me know... so so incredibly appreciated. Panera is great for some healthy fast food options. Most of their salads and sandwiches are great & I love the baguette as a side. The bread is usually fresh and they give real butter with it. I would give more stars, but this location's drive through is just bad. I don't live really close, so I don't go as often as I like. The last three times I've gone here, they forget something in my order. And it's not very convenient to go back in with my three kids. My bad for not checking my order before pulling ahead. CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE! And it pretty much doesn't matter what time you go, there's always a wait. read more

Every time when I place an order in Rancho Cordova (curbside pick-up), there is a problem with my order. I always order two or three bowl of soups and ask for extra croutons for each soup, and every time when I receive my order, either they don't give me any croutons at all, or they don't give me extras. Recently they did not even put any spoons, napkins, and chips in my order. Almost every time I have to go inside and ask to complete my order as I originally asked, and every time the staff pull faces as if I owe something to these people. I'm not asking to get my orders for free, I pay the whole price for that food. I'm willing to pay for the croutons if you want to make that an option, but you don't. Last time I was not given any croutons or chips, which should go with the soup. I went back inside twice for my order, and again I see the expression on employees faces as if they are doing me a favor. I pay for this food, and I do not want to see such an expression on their faces along with their poor ability to do their job properly. I will never order anything at Rancho Cordova again, and I will tell all my friends that if they want to get a good service for their money, they should choose another place because this is just ridiculous. Most of the items on the menu they did not have and it seems like portions they give now are way smaller then before considering this place is pretty pricey. I rarely come here but this is probably going to be the last visit simply because it's an inconvenience to pull up into a drive thru and they don't have anything that you want. I enjoy this addition to the Rancho Cordova food scene because it's a reliable chain, has healthy options and the drive thru isn't a pain in the arse, and is in fact pretty fast. While there is almost always a line, the speed in which the customer is serviced is rather quick. My favorites from Panera are the broth bowls with chicken and soba noodles and the cream of chicken soup bowls. Add a pumpkin muffie to the mix, and you have a solid lunch with a dash of indulgence. I will continue to rely on Panera as a viable and quick drive-thru lunch option in times that I'm too lazy to pack a lunch for my morning. read more

Ordered a steak and cheddar sandwich through the drive through and they made the wrong sandwich. Had to go back inside and ask them to make me a new sandwich. The first staff said they couldn't take the sandwich back and had to get the manager. The manager plainly stated it was the Cuban sandwich, in which I said yes, but it wasn't the sandwich I ordered and asked them to make the correct sandwich. Anyway, shouldn't have been quite a hassle to get the correct sandwich. Moral of the story, check all of your items before leaving the drive thru. I wanted this to be a classic 4 star experience like most of my trips to any Panera Bread are. But all of Rancho Cordova was seemingly at this location during lunch today. It's just too new and too busy to handle the constant stream of customers. The line was insane, maybe 20 people, so I hopped back into the car and through the drive-thru, which had only 4 cars. I cruised through from ordering to pick up in about ten minutes, which I figure was faster than I would have fared inside. The service lady was nice, but I didn't get utensils for my salad/soup combo. Also, it seems they are trying to just give you a side by default instead of asking the obligatory, "chips, apple or baguette?". I had to specifically ask for the apple. The food was quality, what I expected. But I'd never done the drive thru option before and don't think I will again. I feel like the portions are a bit larger on the plate, or at least look more appetizing. I'd rather plan for a longer lunch and eat in. My bill was $9 and reasonable for the healthy(ish) meal I received. This location is a great addition to the Rancho Cordova scene and I look forward to its success. read more

This Panera has really gone down hill. I come here because I love Panera's fresh salads, "real chicken" etc. I work nearby and frequent often. Not anymore. The portions have been getting smaller and smaller each visit. I'm not a big eater, I usually order the half sized salads. However, today's salad was so small it had less than a cup of lettuce (maybe 2/3 cup) and two small chicken strips. Top that off with five crunch things and that cost me almost 7 bucks with tax. This is crazy, with all of the other great restaurants nearby, you'd think Panera would be on it. If I want something that small, I can get a prepared salad at Raleys, or better yet get nice salads at EataPita, Smash burger or even Subway. Don't waste your hard earned cash here. :( read more

Worst Panera restaurant around! We have tried this Rancho Cordova location four times and disappointed every time. We cut them some slack the first couple times since they were new. But now they have no excuse other than poor management and quality control in place at this location. Every visit has had a item forgot. Not acceptable when you are going through drive thru and don't see until the 10 min drive home. Everything from the cheese for the onion soup missing to the additional bread we paid for has been forgotten. Dammit I'm so done with this Panera. I really was rooting for this location too. I see a lot of people working their hiney's off, but then I also see others that are present (I say present because they are pretty much just an oxygen thief, waste of space, decor, etc.). The food is mediocre kinda like La Bou, but they really do have some yummy soups. French Onion has to be my favorite. The way the cheese melts over the croutons and creates a lid of goodness for you to break through. How do you forget the cheese for French Onion Soup?!?! Not once, but twice!! BAH!!! I don't know why this place doesn't have a higher rating. They make their bread in-house and it is screaming fresh. I usually get the you pick two option with a half sandwich and a cup of soup. The turkey and avocado sandwich is my favorite. It comes on sourdough (always fresh) and is made with carved turkey- not the sliced lunch meat kind. When I don't feel like eating meat, I'll order the garden vegetable or black bean soup. If you don't like any kind of cheese like me then ask for the garden veggie soup without pesto. The black bean soup is thick with whole black beans and very tasty. I've also had the chicken noodle and that one is good too. If you order your lunch with a drink then you can purchase a pastry for $.99. Otherwise they are closer to $3.00. I usually opt for the frosted sugar cookie but my husband likes the chocolate cupcake. Panera also has free wifi and call ahead ordering. read more

I never crave Panera, but I live right around the corner from this place so might as well check it out. The wife and I both ordered the 2 combo. I got the Asian Sesame Chicken Salad with a chicken chipotle panini w/bacon. Wife got some sort of pasta with chicken and a chicken caeser salad. See the theme here, CHICKEN!!! I actually took her pasta back to the front and asked why the chicken was so red and she said because it was smoked. Food was pretty good but nothing super special. This place is obviously super clean since it is brand new, with good service and your normal nerdy kids with their laptops and starbucks doing their homework that I couldnt even begin to try to figur out with my not smart brain. I have to give this place some credit. They are new and they are ALWAYS busy. Every single time that I've gone here the line has been close to out the door. That being said, they still haven't found their groove and haven't been ableto handle the high volume well. The service that you receive at the counters vary from person to person. Some are friendly but forget to ask you if you want an apple, chips, or bread. Some are stoic, but they are thorough and get the job done. I have yet to reach a happy medium. Now, to the food. My favorite sandwich is the mozzarella and tomato panini. Their ceasar salad is delicious and I am a fan of the chicken noodle and mac and cheese. Do NOT get the grilled cheese sandwich here. The way they describe it makes you feel like you're getting a serious gourmet sandwich but when I got mine not only was it COLD to the point of being solid cheese again it seriously just tasted like Kraft singles. Excuse me, where are the delectable cheeses you described to me in the menu? However, I still go to this place often because it is fresh and convinient. I love Panera Bread. Always have, and and always will. After all, I am a pre-diabetic carboholic! So what's not to love? But as a reminder to myself this review here is based on this location only. I have been here about a handful of times, mostly for dine-in and once in the drive-thru. I will say the food is incredibly consistent. I doubt it's that hard to mess up their soup, but sandwiches and whatnot seem to be up to par. There was one incident while ordering from the drive-thru that I bought a chicken salad (the really popular one with walnuts, cranberries and feta cheese?) and the employee didn't put the sweet white balsamic dressing in my bag. I told her over the intercom how much I loved that dressing. When I got to the window I jokingly (well, kind of) asked her if she promised she put the dressing in. She promised. Well, that promise was broken as I found out once I got home. My next visit, a manager took our order because there were some miscommunications among the staff. Anyway, I let her know what'd happened with the salad. She was very understanding and told me she would make sure everything came out right. She even threw in a few more noodles to my beloved butternut squash ravioli! In return I throw in an extra star for my review. All I know is it's nice to have some decent dining establishments in the city of Rancho Cordova. This is a happy addition to the Zinfandel strip of eats. read more

Had a bad and good experience a few months back. Order online and Panera fulfills their orders through Post Mates. We were on our porch enjoying a nice Sunday when we got the notification that our food failed to deliver. We called and called and Post mates was ZERO help. I got put on hold for so long that I had time to drive in and complain instead of just getting my delivery for my lazy Sunday. The Manager immediately took care of me and got my order together and got us taken care of. He was amazing, the food is good. Post mates was terrible. I have to admit this Panera location is pretty consistent... Consistent at forgetting ingredients in my order. Within the past week and a half I've been to this location 3 times: twice during the lunch hour and once during dinner time. I ordered the same "pick 2" combo via their rapid pick-up option. Same soup, same salad, and each time they forgot ingredients. The first time I ordered extra avocado in the chicken avocado cobb salad. I get home, open the bag, and find there was no avocado in my salad. The second time I ordered no bacon in the chicken avocado cobb salad. I get home and find no egg and no tomatoes in my salad (but they did manage to omit the bacon correctly). The third time I order the chicken avocado cobb salad, no modifications. This time I checked the bag before leaving and I find there was no chicken and no avocado in my salad. I'm sorry Panera, but you expect me to eat this rabbit food salad consisting of just lettuce, tomatoes, and egg? I notified the to-go counter worker, and they apologized for the mistake and offered to remake the salad. The employee who helped me was very attentive at fixing the mistake and is the only reason why this review is even getting a 2 star. I've been to plenty of other Panera locations, but for some reason this location loves playing hide-n-seek with the salad ingredients. Fool me once Panera, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. This location constantly has issues with their outdoor drive through speaker and for some reason they always mess up my phone number, always calling me by a different name. Update: they still suck! Make sure when you order the you pick 2 (on the drive through) drill it into their heads (seems like they don't listen very well) for the last 4 times my fiancé asked for apples slices and they keep giving him chips. I said no star! If you ever order online, check your order before leaving the store, because for some reason this place never gets it right. Other than not getting the orders right & always running out of food products this place is not that bad. Just make sure you call them ahead of time if you want something other than sandwiches because I can guarantee that they won't have it available. (Just saving you people some time) read more

UPDATE The cashier, Virginia showed excellent customer service! She was patient while we were trying to figure out what to eat and bring up our rewards on their app. I had $5 off if I ordered through the mobile app so of course I had to. It wasn't working and she saw that we put in our credit card and everything so she said she would ring it up anyways since they were having issues with mobile purchases. She was so kind and even brought the food to our table herself. We were also asked by other staff members if we've been helped. A lot has changed Customer Service wise and I'm glad!
