Bagel and cream cheese in a container. Apparently customers have to prepare their own meal now
    Matt A.

Went in for a bagel and cream cheese because I'm boycotting breuggers because of their tiny bagels. Ordered a bagel with cream cheese. 30 seconds later he hands me my bag and I think to myself "that was really quick". Anyway, I went to my car to eat on the run. I open the bag and discover they gave me a bagel with a container of cream cheese for me to spread on myself. Where has the CUSTOMER SERVICE gone?? Even brueggers couldn't screw it up that badly. And Panera has the balls to ask if I want to tip when I swipe my card? No thanks. TIPS stands for To Insure Prompt Service. They may have been prompt but there is virtually no service. Food is exactly as expected. However, the fountain drinks here are frequently low on syrup. Pretty expensive carbonated water.

Food is what you expect from Panera. But for October having the AC with customers wearing their coats inside seems a bit counter intuitive.

In searching for a healthy lunch option that has delivery options on Yelp, I came upon Bowled. I ordered one of their signature açai bowls. It came with an açai base, peanut butter, berries, granola, banana, and chia seeds. The ingredients were all fresh, it tasted delicious and was incredibly satisfying. It filled me up and got me through my workday. Their bowls deliver well so no worries there. My bowl arrived at my door perfect and ready to eat. Not sure what their in house experience is like but as for delivery--get to it!

I ordered a fruit bowl W/bananas, blueberries and strawberries. I received a half full bowl of blueberries, old bananas w/the peeling still on it and 3 little pieces of strawberries (picture below). I refused to eat it because it look like it fell on the floor and was scraped back into the bowl. That's how bad it looked. I also ordered a Protein bowl. Yuk. It was a bowl of spinach, no romaine, couple pieces of hard boiled egg along with/a few other things. The croutons tasted like they were freezer burned. I took all of them out and tried to eat the rest of the food but I just couldn't do it. I will never order from here again. You are definitely one of the reasons I don't really eat out like I use to. Y'all just don't care about the quality of the food anymore. Smh

Admittedly I'm a bit delayed in writing this review so some of what I tried was seasonal dependent as I got a hot apple cider for a drink. To eat, I got a crepe and side of sausage! Just a few short minutes later, the food was ready to go. Everything was really delicious. The sausage provided a perfect savory balance for the sweet crepe that I got. The restaurant was really spacious and had lots of natural light which provided a lovely ambiance. Despite growing up in upstate NY, getting to sit at Skinny Pancake felt like a nice, peaceful perspective I hadn't received before. The food being delicious was the cherry on top. I highly recommend!

It wasn't busy so we were able to go right in and be seated. The server gave us a warm greeting as we entered and asked if we had been there before. She explained the online ordering or that we could walk up to the counter and place our order. The brewed drip coffee is bottomless and self service. They offer lattes and and espresso drinks as well. We placed our order and the server delivered it to our table. We tried "The Vegan" which is a buckwheat batter crepe stuffed with seitan, vegan pesto, vegan cheese, spinach, roasted squash, and caramelized onions. We shared an order of crispy and perfectly seasoned homefries. I ordered a sweet crepe from the special menu which was a buckwheat crepe filled with a blueberry compote, semisweet chocolate morsels, and toasted coconut with candied pecans. It was so rich but so good. We loved the atmosphere, the friendly staff, and the numerous plant-based options and ability to convert several menu items into vegan dishes. We will definitely be back and since we have told so many friends about our experience, will will not be coming back alone!

Then came the pineapple fried rice with pork belly. Savory, caramelized pork belly met bright bursts of pineapple in a perfect sweet-salt balance. Fluffy rice studded with peas, carrots, and ribbons of egg. My three year old son dove in without hesitation, happily scooping forkfuls of rice and pineapple like he had discovered treasure. No negotiations. Just joy. Fifteen minutes later, box in hand, the real event began. Across melting ice. A sharp jaywalk. A cut through the gas station. A full sprint toward the train station as the gates threatened to close and my family waited. It was an unofficial, record-breaking mile fueled entirely by fried rice ambition. Once the cold air finally left my lungs, I cracked open the box. Steam rose into the winter air. The smell alone was victory. I ate every last grain on that train, a triumphant feast earned the hard way. My wife was not impressed with how close I cut it. I, however, stand by the decision. Some meals are worth the sprint.

A tea leaf salad or Lat phat thoat has "Crispy pea, peanut, sesame seed and garlic oil with ground pickle tea leaf, cabbage and tomato." It was a little funky, a bit like kimchi, with a wonderful textural crunch provided by the peanuts. Palata (deep fried layered & flattened dough), commonly served at street food stalls, is reminiscent of scallion pancakes (without the scallion). In this case, it was served with a chicken, potato, and dahl stew. The saltiness of the stew was tamed by the layered and fatty dough. I might skip the chicken dumplings because those were boiled from frozen, store bought items. The pandan dessert, similar to a bubble tea, was an added extra. I'd definitely go again.

We approached just as they were opening for the day on a Saturday. (Slightly after noon) Not seeing many cars in the neighborhood and having the gps seem to "arrive" outside of an empty lot was an inauspicious start but when we pulled fully into the lot, we saw that they had put some work into the place and it had a nice modern look. Didn't get to take advantage of the nice outdoor seating area because the weather was rainy. We were greeted by friendly staff and seated at a comfortable table. Our timing was impeccable because the place was full within the next half hour. Our waitress deserves her own paragraph! She knew the menu inside and out and had tremendous pride in the food served and the awards they've won! Illusive is a "foodie" restaurant, every dish is elevated yet remains unfussy. For appetizers, we shared the street corn dip and tater tot poutine. The street corn dip was creamy and zesty. The tater tot poutine was revelatory, the cheese was melted perfectly, the gravy wasn't some jarred nonsense, and the tots themselves were crispy. I enjoyed the different textures of it, some more cheesy and some more gravy. My wife enjoyed a chicken Caesar salad and my daughter enjoyed a grilled chicken pesto sandwich. Her sandwich was a nice enough portion that she finished it leftover for dinner! I enjoyed the buffalo lemon pepper wings, the sauce was a nice blend of heat and zesty flavor. I appreciated the amount of wings they served, some restaurants are going for "shrinkflation" but Illusive provides a full portion! We received quality and personable service throughout a delicious meal, we will gladly return!

As the name suggests, this restaurant is a bit elusive. It's hidden from street view and, unfortunately, sits right next to a highway ramp. That said, once you're inside, the location quickly becomes irrelevant. I've tried a few things here over time, but most notably, the burgers. Every burger I've had has been excellent -- I honestly haven't tasted one I didn't like. We also tried the wings, which appear to have earned some awards of their own, and they absolutely lived up to the hype. They looked and tasted fantastic. Each wing was carefully garnished with chives, and the sauce was generously slathered over them. They were messy, indulgent, and downright delicious. I personally love getting down and dirty with wings, though I could see how that might not be everyone's preference. The staff have always been pleasant and helpful. While the food can sometimes take a bit longer to come out, it's clearly made with care and has always been worth the wait.
