I have to admit, after reading the reviews for this location, I was VERY leery about meeting my friend here for lunch. The reviews were mostly poor to awful, so I even wondered if I should call and suggest another place. That being said, I'm SO glad that I didn't! I had a great experience, the food was fresh, hot, and DELICIOUS, the customer service was exemplary, and the restaurant itself was clean and inviting. I tried something new to the menu, the Mexican Street Corn Chowder, and oh...my...goodness!!! It was LOADED with flavor, so yummy!! Chock full of roasted corn, potatoes, poblano chilies, and what appeared to be a cream base, topped with crispy crunchy blue corn tortilla strips. A perfect balance of textures! I had initially been disappointed that they only served the cheese soufflé during breakfast hours, but now I have ANOTHER favorite to make my tummy happy. My favorite location. They are always nice and friendly here. I really appreciate that they have almond milk available at the coffee bar. The only downside is that there is often a wait for the drive thru, but then again they are preparing and putting together more complicated items than the average fast food spot. read more

They always seem to be forgetting something at this location. A couple times they forgot my bread bowl. Last night they forgot my chips. Long time customer of this Panera Bread store. They have plenty of options for everyone. Want to eat light or if you are craving heavy carbs, they got you all covered. This store is located in the Natomas Safeway plaza and though it has plenty of parking but it's always a little crowded plaza. You can dine in, take out, pick up from inside the store or do curb side pickup. You can order ahead, order on the app or order inside the store yourself using a machine pad or with a human, you got plenty of options. No matter how you order, they are speedy. We normally order ahead via app for pickup inside the store and by the time I reach the store, our order is always ready 99% of the time. My favorite items these days are there flatbread pizzas and chicken noodle soup. We also buy bread from here. It's also great place for breakfast and their coffee is pretty good as well. read more

I have never been to a Panera bread, but my friend brought me when visiting with her. I liked the decor and layout of the business and the staff was polite. I got a half soup and half sandwich. The broccoli cheddar soup was so yummy. I enjoyed it and also got a half chicken salad sandwich. This was good but more average. The sourdough bread was soft, full, and not too sour. The chicken salad was okay. In its defense though I don't think chicken salad is too spiced up in general. Next time I will just try a different type of filling. read more

We love Panera! This one here in Riverbank is pretty good. We ordered something to be picked up. Our order was correct except when we opened our salads, I noticed my friends HALF salad was twice the size of my FULL salad!! Very disappointing. My Chinese Chicken salad was really lacking in ingredients and size. Kind of bland. My friend's Chipotle Chicken salad was huge and full of several different kinds of goodies. She said it was delicious. My other friend's Steak and White cheddar sandwich was bomb. The ladies who answered the phones were both very nice. I am so glad they opened a Panera is riverbank! So much closer to me than Modesto! The staff here are very friendly and always welcoming. I really enjoy the environment. They always have a positive attitude and deserve a lot of credit! My only problem with my first visit was that it turned out I had to grab my own food and take it to my table. But honestly it's not a big deal and I've been here over 10 times that is not an exaggeration. I've never had a problem with my food. Well it is convenient to have a bakery of sorts not too far away. The curbside works well. Location fairly convenient to access. The breads are inconsistent at times. Loaves are best, baguette is worst. Sometimes it is fresh chewy dark crust sourdough, other times it is closer to 1/2 day old grocery store sweet french bread.
