Went there Saturday 4/29 for Bagels. Hardly any left by 11 AM. Ordered bagels, soups and 2 large cream cheese (chive and plain). Took bagels home for our guests only to find out instead of 2 large cream cheese spreads they had slipped in only 1 small cream cheese which is barely enough for a single bagel. Went back and got my refund but only after disappointed guests had to eat brunch without a nice spread. Really poor customer service. Staff not trained, and most of them seem to hate their job. The food is always good at this Rohnert Park location. I like the convenience of the drive thru. Last week I ordered food through DoorDash and called the location to make a special request that I couldn't make on DoorDash. Tammy was the person on the other line helping me. I love Panera. And I have tried so hard to love this location. Today was my forth time here. I like it because there is a drive through. But I hate how long the drive through takes. Prepare to block out 20-30 mins of your sliding in with your car. I could accept the long wait time IF they didn't always mess up my order. They constantly forget items that I pay for. Don't waste your time or money. This morning I picked up an order that had been placed online for my office. It was horrible. The pastries were as hard as a rock and so drenched in glaze you couldn't see what was what. Solid white. The souffles were burnt and not marked so we couldn't tell those apart either. I tried to call several times throughout the morning to speak with a manager. No answer except the last time when the phone was picked up and immediately hung up on purpose. Lousy customer service. Won't be coming back here. The only good thing was the service, very nice employees. I paid almost $19 for a "whole"sandwich that was basically 2 kids size sandwiches side by side, and a small soup, that also looks child sized. The quality of the food was poor, the sandwich bread tasted like it was cheap rolls used at a buffet. I went through the drive through and didn't realize how bad the quality of my food was until I got home, but if I was served that in the restaurant I would have absolutely asked for a refund. I have waited to write a review to see if their service and food preparation got any better. I want to finally write the review as tonight's dinner was the final straw. For the third time in the last 6 months or so they have failed to put an item in our to-go bag. We normally go get food to-go because we have things we need to go do. So, no, we can't come back to the restaurant to pick up the item we paid for but you failed to put into our bag. (For the third time) How hard is it to delegate somebody to check the to-go bag before it leaves the counter. It's not rocket science and it only takes a few seconds to make sure that the customer has what they've paid for. When Panera first opened they had great customer service and fantastic food. The longer they're open the worse things are getting. I hope that somebody in authority reads this review because they just lost us as customers. We have eaten here fairly regularly but as the quality of their customer service and their food goes down - we will seek our quick meals elsewhere. I did add one star because their Fuji Apple Chicken salads are actually pretty good and have remained fairly consistent- albeit with less chicken but the rest of it stays the same. 10/7/19 - AGAIN WITH FORGETTING THINGS IN OUR TO-GO BAG. GOOD GRIEF 12/4/19 - wanted to give them another try. The personal conversations going on with the employees is actually really entertaining!! Mac n cheese was lukewarm at best, dry, and sour tasting. The bread on my grilled cheese was not even on straight, nasty cold cheese, limp soggy untoasted bread. I actually laughed when I saw it, just so pitiful looking. The other sandwich was tasteless and also cold. The side bread looked like it had a bite taken out of it. Wtf? This Panera is the FOR REAL lifesaver after late classes or for a quick lunch. I've never had a complaint about their food, everything here has been prepared bomb and tastes amazing. Ya'll could have for sure gotten the fifth star if it weren't for the 1/4 of overall orders that somehow get botched. I've put off writing a bad review of Panera for a very long time, but the lack of care put into how their food is made has gone on too long. Mind you, the only redeeming quality of this chain is the broccoli cheddar soup, but I assume it's pretty difficult to screw up heating up some premade soup. Tonight, like every other night that I've gone to Panera, I was craving some broccoli cheddar soup so I suggested going. My fiancé reminded me, like he does every time we consider going to Panera, that the quality of food we get is always disappointing. I tell him, just like every other time we consider going to Panera, that maybe the previous times were just flukes. So we go. Now, this isn't a specific diss towards Santa Rosa's Panera alone, because we've had bad experiences with the one in Rohnert Park AND Napa as well. On those occasions we got cold semi-raw chicken on our chicken tortellini once, our macaroni was cold another time, and were told they were out of bread bowls the other time (mind you again, the word BREAD is in the restaurant's name and we were coming at a normal hour). Okay back to the main story. I ordered some broccoli cheddar soup and a chicken chipotle avocado sandwich. My fiancé orders a Baja Mac n cheese and broccoli cheddar soup. When our food came to us I take a couple bites out of my sandwich and notice that the meat isn't even warm and it looks slightly uncooked. The avocado on both my fiancé's Mac n cheese and my sandwich is bad, it looks like it's either moldy or just old. (See photo). Like I said before, the broccoli cheddar soup was the only redeeming quality. All in all, not worth the price at all. 3 1/2 Stars Panera means "bread box" in Spanish. I thought it funny to name this restaurant chain "Bread Box Bread!" Also, there is an expensive wrist watch brand named Panerai. That is panera with an "i" at the end. In Italian, Panerai means "flying sponge pie." Maybe Panera Bread might consider adding the "i" to the end of their company name. Good idea you think? I've been to a couple Panera Bread restaurants over the years. The new one in Rohnert Park is a very nice one. The building itself is a lovely new structure with many unusual booths, tables, and seating areas that make intimate conversations easy. The decor and design are clean, simple, and warm. Unfortunately, the food is not special. Grilled panini sandwiches, soups, breakfast sandwiches, and baked goods are all acceptable (not really). Their orange juice, potato chips, and other packaged items are "Panera" branded which means this is a big company with no unique character. Gee whiz, I was hoping to say something more positive about what I've eaten here for two days. Well, the Dancing Bears out front was an interesting touch! JK . . . there's no dancing bears. Still, Panera Bread might tickle your fancy, just cuz it didn't tickle mine. In previous years I've had no issues with orders from this place except for today. We ordered a salad, a full sandwich, a half salad and a half sandwich. They completely forgot to add the full sandwich. I get that places are busy and while I try to by sympathetic with staffing shortages, it's a little hard not to feel down about not getting what we ordered and paid for. Panera is always an easy and decent go to for simple meals available quickly. We love their iced coffee and You Pick 2 deals. They are great about special requests and we've never had an issue with customer service. Our go to orders are black bean soup, autumn squash soup (seasonal), asiago steak sandwich with horseradish added, and the Meditteranean sandwich with horseradish added, chocolate pastry or pecan roll. read more

Let me start out by saying that I'm a big fan of Panera and this location is convenient for me. I would generally agree that the service hasn't been 5 star and friendly since day one but I feel I have been here enough to see improvement. Today's staff was attentive, helpful, upbeat and friendly. The service was fast and the food is good. This is a step up from the seemingly large staff working slowly and not always jumping up to help thin down the line. If you visit Panera get the card, it pays off with little perks here and there. For this particular location I think they are improving and the last few visits it seems some of the employees actually appear happy to have a job and to be working here. read more

Just got home with our quick grub pick up. A few things to note: 1. My Asian chicken salad has no chicken. They were "out of my soup" (aka is was late and it is one of the dailies - no problem - salad instead). 2. My husbands French onion soup was missing croutons and the cheese. 3. Four of the employees were playing with baguette pieces between their legs and tossing them into bags. Any of these things alone? I can excuse (even he baguette toss - I get it - I was a retail manager, times get slow and you have to pass the time somehow). We know it's overpriced for what it is but we pay it because it's quick and easy (and actually pretty decent flavors) and on the way home from the gym. Ordered the BLT sandwich and a bbq Mac and cheese at drive through; got home after very long day of work to find no bacon on half my sandwich and only two tiny bits of bacon on the other half. Might as well have left the bacon off all together. My bbq chicken mac and cheese also had no chicken on it whatsoever and was probably a total of two tablespoons of macaroni.
