I'm honestly shocked at how filthy the bathrooms were at Panera Bread. The urinals looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks -- strong odor, visible stains, and grime buildup that was impossible to ignore. For a place that markets itself as fresh and welcoming, the lack of basic cleanliness was incredibly disappointing. Clean restrooms are the bare minimum for any restaurant, and this location clearly isn't keeping up. Definitely not the experience I expect when dining out. read more

4* food again, 5* transaction this time. The marketing worked, I was fed an ad for a new sandwich and here I am ordering it maybe 36 hours later. Tried the Signature Take Chicken Sandwich with automatic side of chips. Don't expect much garlic flavor in your garlic aioli, but the good portion of seasoned white meat chicken wasn't overly dry. Parmesan crisps were a pleasant chewy surprise--between the size of a dime and a nickel, I was grateful for the flavor and some texture. Emerald greens are, as I suspect you yourself already suspected, a pleasingly fresh if unsurprising green leaf lettuce blend. Nice rebrand, though. Best of all, this time I got the 4pk of brioche I ordered. The one on today's chicken sandwich was lovely, this pack is still soft, and best of all they come pre-sliced. Two things I love about their cinnamon roll is the touch of lemon in the icing and the fact they aren't overly greasy/buttery. Don't get me wrong, sometimes you need the sodden center of a hot Cinnabon but today was not that day for me. I like how much of their packaging is paper. The brioche came in plastic and there's a window on my cinnamon roll, but otherwise brown paper products. The chip packet is on me; if I'd been thinking I'd have stopped to select an apple as my side. Delivery was zippy once again. This driver didn't contact me like the previous one with notification of drop off, but my meal was here within 30 minutes of placing my order online. I know that intersection of WW and 35 is seldom pleasant traffic in daylight so respect for that. read more

I stopped at Panera in San Marcos for a tuna sandwich on my way to Austin from San Antonio. It was delicious! The young man at the window was exceptionally nice. Ordering in the app was simple, my order was correct, and it was ready as promised. I asked for water and I was given a tea that was created by accident for a previous customer. It was a delicious passion papaya green tea. I'll be sure to order it next time when I stop there. read more

I had a fantastic salad at Panera. It was the strawberry chicken salad with poppyseed dressing. I got the small portion because I ordered the pick 2 with the 1/2 chipotle chicken avocado sandwich. Both were very good, but the salad was such a pleasant surprise for a quick serve restaurant. It was loaded with fresh strawberries, blueberries and mandarin oranges, with just the right amount of chicken and dressing. I opted out of the pecans that normally come with it. I'm always happy to see Diet Dr. Pepper at lunchtime! The only downside was there was no one behind the counter when we got there - so we had to order off a self-serve computer screen. I use the drive through a couple times a week and get an attitude from the staff when I ask them To enter my phone number for rewards. How about you ask up front when I place my order??? I finally got tired of the attitude so I went in and spoke to a manager. This was not much better... He acted as if he's too busy to talk to a paying customer. HeT me he's going to have a talk with his staff and assures me that it will change..... two weeks later, guess what... Same attitude. If you don't like your job, find something else to do. read more

So I am sitting here sipping on my 3rd iced tea, and I just want to say I really love this Panera Bread location. It was my go-to place in New Mexico to write, and I have not found a Panera I really like in Central Texas yet. Today I came for the first time here to meet my friend for lunch and writing time, and this location is great. The staff are very friendly and fast. The staff person at the counter (I think their name was Olivia with colorful bright hair) was so sweet helping out a pair of older customers with their order and remembered them from a former visit. It made me feel like if I come back here, I will be a recognizable, valued regular customer by the staff. The restaurant is super clean thanks to their staff, and the food is great and comes out fast. They have my favorite french onion soup, which I enjoyed a big bowl of today, and a warm chocolate chip cookie. And did I mention that tasty iced tea?! My only critique is that it is super cold in here. It is Texas summer, so A/C is a necessity but it's chilly for me. Or maybe that was all the iced tea? Thanks, Panera Bread, San Marcos. I ordered delivery from this location and ordered a Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich among some other items. When I opened up the sandwich, I saw a fly in the food. It was still alive and the sandwich was wrapped really well so it had definitely gotten in the food at the restaurant. I called the restaurant and received a refund for the sandwich. It was a smooth process to get a refund but this should not be happening in the first place. I had to throw away the whole sandwich and find something else to eat. Came to this location for breakfast and they were out of stock on the basic items like eggs and oatmeal. We ordered 1 bagel, fruit cup and a breakfast sandwich. When we got the order the fruit cup was still frozen, the sausage on the sandwich was cold and we got 2 bagels. There was a counter employee but she was so focused on her cell phone that she didn't even greet us or made eye contact with us. The staff preparing the food were busy and trying to keep up with the small amount of orders. Panera wake up you're losing business. I just bought a turkey bravo on my pick two and I got a hair in my food which is very disgusting and on the side on my sandwich there's cinnamon. The manager was nice enough to refund me for the inconvenience but this is just really nasty to me and I really hope they better the quality of the food. i placed an online order this morning. Food was thrown together and didn't get my order correct but that's not really a big deal. What I think the manager should know is how bad the staff in the cook and food prep area mouths were. I couldn't believe how much they were cussing and loud! I get laughter and fun at work but this was over the top. Ice was out in the dining room drink machine and they were irritated when I asked them for ice in the back and they were not busy at all. After ordering my two bagels and a pumpkin muffin, the moves-at-a-glacial-pace counter girl promptly took a tray of bagels from the cooling rack and sliced all 12 of them--hese were not my bagels. Then she rearranged the cooling racks, while I began to steam. No other customers in the restaurant, mind you. I watched to see if she would attempt to assemble my 3-item order, but no. Finally, I went and asked for the manager who made an apology in passing and quickly got my order together. I doubt that I will ever go back, since they seem to have no clue how to find staff that want to work.
