Maria was very friendly, made sure my order was perfect and watched me go with a BIG smile! My favorite sandwich (BLT Roast Turkey Avocado) with pickle and chips was made simply perfect, the bread, sourdough, just awesome. Chips are now ridiculous though, basically about 7 normal size potato chips come in a bag, companies are getting TOO cheap, come on man, you are killing me! read more

Something is really wrong with this Panera. There's clearly some sort of evil voodoo lurking in these walls. We visited yesterday at drive-thru, ordering $44 worth of lunch. The drive-thru staffer was disgustingly rude. She sounded like a sophomore in high school who couldn't get a prom date. Pissed off. When we asked her if the bakery was open (pandemic time), she was such a bratty POS when answering. Her mother must be so proud. When we walked in to the bakery, the large manager Carla was at the soda/tea counter in our left. She exasperatingly stared at us. Her counter staffer asked us for our order - they HAD NOTHING in the bakery except cookies. None of their regular items were there. Cookies were rock hard. ... but the cherry on top of this cluster-**** cake was that the counter staffer handed me everything on one of their plates. She observed malaria-style "hygiene" practices - we're talking hazmat suits here. Curiously, the gloves she was wearing had no doubt touched every other contaminated surface all day long, meaning all those bugs were now on my food and bags. While that was a bit off-putting, I happened to look up and ... just .... behind her ... in the kitchen came pissed off sophomore who picked up two baguettes from the rolling bakery cart WITH HER BARE HANDS! I mentioned this to bakery staffer, who merely shrugged and said "our gloves are clear colored." People - I am a nurse. I know what a gloved hand looks like. Oh! And my Bacon Turkey Bravo sandwich had frisée on it... gag... because apparently they are in money saving mode and have no leaf lettuce as the recipe requires. I've had it with this location! The employees working here are usually very welcoming but not impressed with how manager handled hair in my food. She said sorry (not sure if she meant it) and made my food again but nothing extra for having someone's disgusting hair in my mouth! Won't be going back anytime soon. Too grossed out. Just had a really yummy, knock my socks off lunch! I'm a little shocked at some of the reviews and question why they are so low. I did a pick 2 with 1/2 sandwich and cup of soup. The squash soup is smashingly delish!! And the Caprese Panini was a serious party in my mouth that I didn't want to end! The ooooooey gooooooey, melted, fresh mozzarella mixed with the pesto spread, tomatoes and balsamic was just about the greatest thing since sliced bread!! I seriously considered getting another pick 2 of the same order so the awesomeness would continue but my belt and waistline said, "whoah sister, slow your roll!!" So I opted to lick my bowl clean instead! Not really, there were far too many people watching. So I'll just have to keep the lil drip of soup on my chin and save it for later. I enjoyed this summer salad that was so filling and very tasty served with a side of artists in bread. Highly recommend before the summer ends! Restaurant conveniently located, clean inside only downfall you could hear manager reprimanding an employee in the kitchen because he brought out a guest salad before another order and she was not happy. However, there was really no one in the restaurant so the wait was not or could not have been that long. Suggesting any corrective teaching should take place where customers and other employees cannot hear. read more

Sorry to say this, but this place is a disappointment. Ordered half a chicken salad sandwich for take out. Basically , a small piece of bread with less than two tablespoons of Chicken salad, slice of tomato and lettuce. Called to speak to the manager, left on hold. Called back and was told they were looking for the manager. I told them I would put it on Yelp instead and the said that was fine. This used to be a decent place to eat. No longer. read more

UPDATE: I spoke to the regional manager and he assured me that I am allowed to get same day refills in a large cup. He thought it was silly that manager Carla would have gotten mad at me for such a small thing. He agreed with me. I do not appreciate Carla accusing me of stealing I did not steal. She said that i stole iced tea but I had paid for a refill. Because why would I buy a new cup? It's wasteful to buy a new cup. So I use one cup (previously paid for) for tea and one cup for ice. (These are Panera cups) I have a billion Panera cups because I go to Panera every day for tea. And lunch. I'm there spending money every day. This is not against the rules. She yelled at me in the Panera and embarrassed me in front of other customers telling me I stole ice tea. And I showed her my current receipts on my Panera account. She said I am lying. I use one cup for ice and then I use another cup to fill the cup with ice tea (without ice). She saw me with two cups, but what she saw was that I filled a cup with ice, that already had a tiny bit of tea in it from yesterday, and then another cup I filled to the top with tea. She said I can't pay for a refill. I have a million of these stupid freaking Panera cups and i go to multiple locations because I drive for work so I'm at different locations a lot. Some locations know me and say hi to me when I come in. This manager is ridiculous. Horrible customer service from her! And by the way, who gives a crap about ice tea? CASSANDRA, the general manager of this location, is extremely rude and very unpleasant. I went to pick up a $130 to-go order and Cassandra dismissed me and told me my order didn't exist and walked away. She ignored me when I tried to get her attention again to show her the receipt. She begrudgingly came around the counter to look at the receipt, scoffed, and still said there was no order. Without another word, she walked away. After a few moments she motions from the front of the store pointing at my order that was behind the cashier the entire time (not in the usual to-go cubbies). She uttered no words and offered no apology. I ask "so it was ready the whole time?" And all she says is "that's why we don't like to do large to-go orders." Whether it is the location that is disorganized or the people that are ignorant, I will be taking my "large" to-go orders elsewhere. read more

I found a note on my order stating "next time additional charge, please add-on". I understand if I may have misunderstood the process when ordering online, but the way the note started almost came off as rude. It really through me off. I have had pleasant experiences both times I have gone to this location, one during a busy hour and one at night. I came in close to closing tonight and they were short half a cup of soup. I really appreciate their honesty instead of trying to "make it work". The girl that helped me apologized and offered to switch it out. Don't let the "Bread" in "Panera Bread" fool you! This location constantly is out of the baguettes that can be served in place of the bag of chips for a side. For a bread company location to run out of bread and not to offer any sort of alternative, I think is ridiculous. If it happened every once in a great while, I could surely understand, but this location runs out of baguettes more often than not(especially if you go anywhere close to closing time). I personally love the food most of the time, which is why it's hard for name to leave such a negative review. If you like slimy, rusty lettuce in your salad, this place is perfect, but I'm not really a fan of that, so it was a fail today. The French onion soup was plain - no toasted bread or croutons or cheese. The grilled cheese was basically cold previously melted cheddar on toast, and the cocoa cream cookie was stale. Most of our meal went in the trash. So disappointing, because I used to love Panera, but if this is the standard of quality now, I've lost my appetite. Visited the DT Phoenix location up on Central Avenue. It's not the best neighborhood. Took my dear friend who is a caretaker for her ill spouse. She and I were very much looking forward to our lunch. I traveled 2,000 miles from Illinois to take her out. After we ordered and I handed the cashier my cash, she accused me of passing COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY. I was shocked and very upset. I took one look at my friend, and she was totally stressed out by this. Place was busy, and other people behind us heard the girl. I must mention, my friend and I are both in our 70's. I HAVE HAD A PANERA ACCOUNT FOR at least 25 years! I told the girl this was RIDICULOUS. She called the manager, the manager said the same thing! We left and went straight to Chase Bank. NOT only did Chase VERIFY my 3 bills, they deposited it in my account! JEESH, WHAT IS WRONG WITH PANERA?? I normally love Panera, but buyer beware of the Cobb Salad - it is not typical. First, the use some kind of unusual green - I don't like the smell or taste of the green (I've never had a salad with this before). And the salad dressing is also not typical, some kind of Panera creation, but sorry I don't like the taste of it either. Perhaps it would be helpful to let customers know it's not like a typical Cobb Salad so you don't get surprised. I mean, Panera is usually good, and the food was great. I put on a to go 3 hours early and went to pick it up and still had to wait 30 mins. Someone needs to thoroughly teach the employees how to run the line, and which orders are most important. I saw a lady leave because her salad took 30 mins to go. Regardless if her order was put in after all of ours, it takes 2 minutes to make a salad, she shouldn't have to wait for all the orders before getting hers, when hers is so simple. Panera On 11/21 My fiancé and I made a visit to this location. We ordered 2 soups w/ bread bows and a sandwich through the drive through. I was told by the young woman that she first needed to make sure they had bread bowls, they assured me that they did. I proceed to the window, pay for my food and pick it up. As I'm pulling away, my fiancé notices no bread bowls. He goes inside to let the employees know and was told "oh, we JUST forgot the bread bowls". The bread bowls weren't JUST forgotten. It was a main part of the meal and was paid for. Anyhow, the employees give the bread bowls and we go home and eat our food. Today, I notice a duplicate charge on my account. One for $23.63 And the other for $23.74 For the same day. I call my financial institution to verify the information. I then call down to Panera. The young woman answers the phone and I ask for a manager. I'm told she's busy but can leave a message. I ask to hold for the manager. Over the next 20 minutes, the line is picked up by 3 individuals, none of whom introduce themselves and non of whom are managers. Finally, the manager, Carla gets on the line, again, no introduction. She answers, "how can I help?" . I essentially have to beg for information (her name & title) I explain the situation and I'm advised "they are busy but I can go down with my receipt and card used for a refund to be issued in 7-10 days. My first impression was that employees at this location are not trained properly for a customer facing position but then made interactions with Carla. My perception changed 100%. How can the employees be expected to provide great customer service when Carla, the manager herself is beyond rude. It's a shame. I will never visit Panera again and will definitely pass my experience on to others. read more

Poor Management!! Don't count on them to have everything bagels! Several times I have tried to order them on the phone or through their Rapid Pickup process and they have been out of those bagels. Today, I tried to buy everything bagels at 8:00am on a Tuesday morning using Rapid Pickup. My order was not even started when I arrived and there were no everything bagels left. If this was the first time, I would be understanding but because this has happened to me at least 5 times, I blame management. My family has always been fans of Panera Bread. We frequented their Seal Beach, CA location often as we enjoyed the food and their dedication to customer service. Unfortunately this Panera location was lacking in most aspects. Even finding this 'Panera' (The facade says Paradise Bakery) was frustrating. I'm not sure if this was a Paradise Bakery that was bought out by Panera, or if this is some kind of one-off rebranding, but even Panera's website says that this is a Panera Bread location. The signs told us otherwise. Once inside, it was obvious that none of the workers wanted to be there. Bored, slack-faced, hanging one-armed off of the registers. They seemed to all be of younger age, and it was clear that they had better things they wanted to be doing. The food was what we had come to expect. My Frontega Chicken panini was actually well assembled and tasted fresh. Not much to complain about there. However, the inside of the restaurant needs a deep cleaning in the worst way. Everything is sticky, dingy, and unvacuumed. The girl bussing the tables sullied about looking miserable, and used the same nasty rag on all of the tables. There was a noticeable funk smell that permeated after she had wiped down our eating area. Definitely not an appetizing aroma. We are disheartened that this is our closest Panera location. All it would take is a little better management to ensure better cleaning practices and perkier associates. For now though, we'll probably think twice and drive further to a well-run Paneradise. read more

I swear, Paradise Bakery is the most socially unconscious "healthy" dining choice. When I was Vegan, this salad toting place didn't have any viable options for me. Unless I wanted an exorbitant price for leafy greens. EVEN EVERY BREAD CHOICE HAS DAIRY. What kind of bakery are you, if you can't make a decent bread with the basic ingredients? Now that I'm a vegetarian, the choices are just as sparse. All of the entrée salads come with meat. If you don't want the meat, you still have to pay for it. I refuse, on principal. We used to really love this place, that is before it moved and became Panera. The service has gone downhill are the employees are always scrambling around in the kitchen like they've had no training whatsoever. The communication skills here are very poor and the staff and management could benefit from some teambuilding exercises. Communication is key, if you can't communicate from the order taking through the presentation to the customer, something needs to change. I may try this place in the future but first I think I'll give them time to get their poop together. 3 strikes you're out. read more
