This Panera Bread is horrible. We stopped by for lunch. There was no coffee, only flavored coffee. Since we desperately wanted coffee we decided to take it. Then there was no milk. When I asked if there was milk in the back, in the kitchen, a very combative team member came asking what I needed. At that point I gave up even asking. We ordered a small chicken soup, however we received noodles with some broth at the bottom. Sandwiches were decent. My order also had an almond pastry which was not given to me. Have gone through the drive through several times to order a salad and every time my order is short of something. Once I got the wrong dressing, then all kale instead of mixed greens. Then just a few pieces of chicken and most recently NO CHICKEN. I am done with them!!! read more

Ordered on the app. Order wasn't ready when it said (1:45) and I was notified of that. No big deal....waited until 2 to finally go thru the drive thru. Sat there for 11 minutes when someone finally came over the speaker and said the wait would we be anywhere between 10 minutes and 30 minutes and that she had no idea how long it would be. I told her I had a mobile order and asked if I should just come inside because there were several cars in front of me. I pulled out the line and picked up my order inside. I understand being short staffed, but what I don't understand is the lack of courtesy and genuine apologies for such inconveniences! This spot is consistent with panera standards. The staff is usually the same and always friendly. I always like to use the monitors to order especially when I am with family who have communication barriers and they like to see the pictures. The food is always served on time. I've only had problems with curbside pick up - they somehow take longer than rapid pick up which is inside or just going in. Even if I order ahead of time I usually have to wait at least 10-15 minutes in the parking lot. Overall it's a lovely place for lunch or studying . The food is delicious and i've never had any problems with any of it. I will say they changed their chicken noodle soup recipe and I do like the other one better - in case you have not visited recently. I do like that they do seasonal menus and expanded their menus to the delicious flatbread pizzas ! The strawberry salad in the summer is must try ! read more

This is my only visit to this location. And by only I mean my first and last. I ordered a small mac and cheese with broccoli. My first bite was of a frozen piece of broccoli. I took it back to the station where we picked up our food and waited and waited and sure enough, they nuked the daylights out of it. I did order a small, which was nearly $7 and trust me it was maybe a half cup serving. I upgraded to a fruit cup , an additional 2.19, speared several blueberries with my fork, they were fuzzy... Panera never disappoints. I had to skip breakfast and was pretty hungry upon arrival. No problem. The staff member suggested the You Pick Two. So, I picked the Fuji Apple Salad with chicken which was delightful. The mix of apple chips with the chicken, greens, and gorgonza cheese topped with the white balsamic vinaigrette dressing warmed my stomach. I enjoyed a half turkey, apple, cheddar sandwich with cranberry spread. This, too, warned my stomach. I didn't need anything else but the courtesy cup of water. At Panera, I can choose what I want to eat. The available options help me maintain a balanced diet. I also enjoyed a glance at the delicious beads and cookies but did not take the bait. read more

Everytime I come here, I feel like something goes wrong. It's either waiting too long for one thing, not getting what I ordered, them being literally OUT OF BREAD when it's called Panera Bread, or the food being below average for what it already overpriced food that can be because it's "healthy" and "trendy." They don't seem to be understaffed, but it feels like the employees fail to work as a team or have a sense of urgency when things start going wrong. The managers seem like they know what they're doing and do get on to them, but sometimes I just don't understand why I'm waiting 20 minutes for re heated Mac n cheese. If you come here, go for breakfast around 7-9. Usually it's slow and pretty fast. Otherwise, just go to the one in East Spartanburg near Hillcrest. Much cleaner and faster. read more

This place sucks. Ordered a chicken salad sandwich and they put no chicken salad on it but gave us the end of the lettuce head. Went back and asked for actual food on the sandwich and he covered the whole plate in it and threw it back at me. Place is an absolute mess too. Today I ordered a large iced coffee with chocolate syrup and a bagel warm and toasted via the app. They said it would be ready in 10 minutes so I waited. I knew what an iced coffee looked like so I just waited for one to show up on the shelf..... and waited..... and waited..... and waited..... 30 minutes go by with no iced coffee. I go look on the shelf and there was my bagel. It had been sitting for 20 minutes.... still no iced coffee. I was shocked by all the really bad reviews for this Panera location!! We ate here twice this past week while traveling through South Carolina, and thought "this is the best Panera's we've eaten at!" The store was clean and nicely decorated. We ate breakfast one day. The classic oatmeal was yummy. The cinnamon crunch bagel was very good. Then on the way back home a few days later we stopped for dinner. We enjoyed strawberry poppyseed salads with chicken. The triple chocolate cookie with walnuts was melty in the middle and very tasty. Terrible service. We placed an order using the online app, which we have done many times with various Panera locations. This one left out items from our order. This can happen. When we called to ask for a refund or redelivery of missing items, the manager said to call Doordash because it is their problem. Of course, all the delivery people do is collect the bag with the order and deliver it - a problem with the contents of the order should not be their problem, especially given we placed the order directly with Panera using their app. Rude and unhelpful. Another terrible experience. This location is AWFUL! First, tried to call and place a catering order for 6 people. Called several times and no one picked up. FINALLY got through and was told they couldn't take the order over the phone and I must put the order in online. Fine. Did so, but after picking up the order and taking it to my customer, 4 of the Pick Two orders were missing half the order! Guess today it was only Pick One! One of the people in the office I delivered the food to tried to call from noon until 3:30 and no one would answer. She finally called Panera HQ and was told they would reach out to the restaurant. The first time I dined here, I requested no bacon on my salad and when I got home, there was bacon on my salad. That's actually happened to me at multiple Panera's in different cities. Ever since, I've always dined inside here and have had good experiences. I use the electronic ordering systems they have inside, it's easier to make customizations on there! I think the company's portion sizes are a lot smaller then they were 1-2 years ago, but when I come here, it's usually to study so I'm here for hours at a time - so I don't need anything big or heavy. I usually get the pick two, most often a soup and salad or double soups! Love the 10-Vegetable, Chicken and Wild Rice and Tomato Soup. Salads, I alternate between the green goddess and Fuji chicken. I mostly get extra everything for my customizations. The service is usually good. Atmosphere is nice. The Parking lot is small but it works. I should have just gone to the chick fil a across the street, which has me in and out in less than 5 minutes. I understand there is a shortage of workers, but the staff literally moves at the pace of a snail. Visited the Spartanburg Panera while traveling for work. It is always a nice option to the traditional fast food options you find at every exit on every highway. We ordered with no prob- I got the Fontina Grilled Cheese with French Onion Soup. We had a bit of a problem with finding a table as the place was super crowded. We almost ate outside, despite the cold weather, but a couple got up just as we were getting ready to jet. As we walked over, a staff member cleaned it quickly Score! Just a short review to talk about the Kiosk. The food is consistent and decent just like always. I wanted to review the Kiosk experience. This was our first time ordering from the Kiosk. It was very good. You can look at the menu as long as you like and you do not have people behind you waiting and an impatient cashier rushing your decision. You can even pay and get your drink. The drinks are somewhat on the honor system, but we still paid for them. Anytime I can cut out an interaction with a fast food counter person, I am on board. Worked like a champ. read more

Just finished a nice sized bowl of Soba Noodles. A bit spicier than the traditional Japanese style with which I am familiar, but very good. We had an issue with part of our order not arriving with the rest of our meal. They handled the situation wonderfully. My Mediterranean veggie sandwich was pretty good. We ordered some chocolate chip cookies which were also satisfactory. The green goddess salad was very flavorful as well! Consistent quality and customer service. The dining area is pretty consistently clean. They are rarely out of items. Any mistake is quickly and happily rectified. It's the better Panera in Spartanburg for sure! Oh yes - there is one baker here that is better than most.
