Consistent quality and customer service. The dining area is pretty consistently clean. They are rarely out of items. Any mistake is quickly and happily rectified. It's the better Panera in Spartanburg for sure! Oh yes - there is one baker here that is better than most. What a joke. So me and my business partner ordered something that had chicken. When we received (at separate times) realized that neither included chicken. She took hers back to put chicken in it then I did the same a few minutes later and heard someone yell from the kitchen "well, we are running out of chicken so what were we supposed to do?" It took all I had not to yell back "hey nimrods, why don't you just tell customers upon ordering that you ran out of chicken". The food is pretty good, but very expensive for what you get. I've been coming here for a while, and honestly, every time I go, I wish I hadn't. The staff is rude. I called to complain one time and the manager was even worse. They are always out of something you want. I have never been that they are not out of either bread bowls and/or most of the bagels. I'm not going at closing time, this is at 5:00 or 5:30. And the portions keep getting smaller and smaller. When I order a bowl of soup it is usually only half full. When I go to other locations, the bowl is close to full. All in all, I would not recommend this location. Maybe they need to hire new staff and manager or re-train the current ones. read more

No time to go back so called and asked for charge to be reversed on card. Was told no but they could put my name in a book for a credit I will never use. Seriously the most incompetent Panera bread I've ever been to just now. I asked for a whole green goddess salad, no bread and a bottled water. She asks me if I want tap water instead for 99 cents lol uh no thanks. Get to the window and they thought I ordered a half salad. I wait 10 minutes for them to fix it. She charges my card and as I'm waiting on the whole salad she goes, "can I see your card again?" I say umm ok? Why? Apparently she pulled it out too fast. We have tried to come here twice to just pick up a to go order and they have rudely told us that they would not serve us because they were closing early before their posted hours. The two old ladies (Liz and Diane) who work the counter in the mornings are painfully slow and oblivious as can be. They ask the same dumb questions every morning, but always say "you're here every day"... You remember me, but don't remember that I don't have a Panera card, and that I order the same exact thing every time? They always forget to put a plastic knife in the bag until you ask. What a disappointment today! We ordered 2 turkey, cheddar and apple sandwiches and 2 cups of broccoli cheddar soup and even though the soup was good the sandwiches were BAD. They had put the wrong kind of cheese on both, maybe about 3 little sprigs of arugula on each, the bread was soggy on 1 side of each sandwich, there was a little blob(in a little mound) of turkey on each that only barely filled the middle portion of the bread, there were just tidbits of thinly(you could almost see through) sliced apples on each. They also forgot the pickles! If I had an establishment that sold this kind of food for the amount of money that is charged here I would be ashamed that these sandwiches were sold like this. And for a grand total of $32+, no less. It will be a while before I frequent this place again. Maybe someone was having a bad day but it made me have a bad day too after spending this much money for THOSE sort of sandwiches. Tasty lunch here. It was busy, but our food was ready quickly. I had the soup and salad combo, which came with a piece of baguette-- perfect for dipping into the soup or mopping up extra salad dressing. The vegetarian black bean soup was spiced perfectly, not bland, not too spicy, and not too thin. I usually prefer the heartier black bean with ham served at Erik's Deli back home but this was yummy. The salad was a fresh Greek salad with feta cheese in just the right size pieces. My only disappointment was the pecan braid -- very, very sweet. Even when we split it, it was too sweet to finish. A slice of cinnamon raisin bread, without all the extra sugar would have been better, but I don't think that was an option. read more

This place needs to retrain their employees including management . I've had 3 bad experiences at this location. On this particular night I went through the drive thru ordered two pick twos got home and half my food was missing. You can imagine how upset I was. Do the employees just not check the bag before they allow you to drive off with half you order you paid for missing.???This has happened before it's unacceptable. So I call and ask to speak to a manager to let them know the issue and the manager says "oh yeah I figured you call because the girl working drive thru told me forgot to put half your order in the bag"... I'm thinking Oh yeah thanks that's real helpful now that I'm home and hungry.. He then proceeded to say well I can get you another food order the next time you're here., ugh ?? Do you really think that: one that is going to help me in any way and two: that I would ever give you my business again???? I stated No thanks I just want a refund I paid for something I didn't receive and all I want is my money back. He said he couldn't do that . I'm like look I paid for something and didn't receive it yes you can I'm not stupid after being placed on hold for a third time he comes back and says "we normally don't do this but since you don't want us to redo the food order on your next visit I guess I'll just give you your money back " with complete attitude . The food is consistently good and the customer service especially on the phone is consistently aggravating. Maybe someone has trained the telephone staff to be anything but encouraging when there is a call-in order versus an online order. Worst Panera experience I've ever had. I did come in at lunch and it was busy but, ordering went smooth. Just got a pastry and drink so, I didn't have to wait on the kitchen. Serval people were walking around looking for a table, serval tables needed to be cleared and cleaned but, no one was around to do that. I asked for a cloth to wipe a table off and was told a dining room attendant would be around. One finally showed up but, my table didn't get cleaned. The floors were dirty with litter and ice where drinks had been spilled and not cleaned up. This place needs to get it together. read more

I have been going to this Panera since it opened. At times I have had bad experiences, but after a few months, I'd try it again, and some times it was ok and other times disappointing...Today I went through the drive-in: The service was POOR, voice at ordering kiosk was rude, and when I pulled up to window the woman that waited on me had on artificial nails, with what looked like food stuck to one nail, (in fairness it could have been some kind of decoration). Don't they know that artificial nails harbor bacteria,, All the hospitals have banned them. I work in healthcare, and they are definitely very dirty, and when swabbed for a bacteria screen, come back positive. Ugh!! Managers of Panera, Please educate your employees.
