Not my favorite Panera location. This is the happening place for the octogenarian crowd and its always crawling with them. Its usually crowded and some days the line is out the door. Service can be on the slower side and food is basic Panera. My issue with this location is the coffees and teas are extremely watery and the to-go salad portion and side of french bread is smaller than other Panera locations. After my first visit, I thought this was a one time thing but now notice its this way with every visit. They are obviously trying to stretch the food/drinks. read more

We were early for our meeting; but, coffee-ed out from our drive down, so we ducked into Panera for a light snack; we split a Pecan Pastry Knot. It was quite good; and, reasonably priced. The location was very convenient to our meeting; and, near shopping and other outlets. The place was clean, well-maintained, with ample parking in front and on the side, as well as in back. We had access to plugs, to recharge our phones, or plug in the laptop. After a pitstop and a few minutes of e-mail, we were on our way over to the beach side of town! The only downside was that I could not connect to the free Wi-Fi, as the splash screen never came up; and, on Sprint I only had 2 bars; and, no 4G! read more

The customer service here continues to get worse. It seems they don't train the employees at all. We had picked the 2 to go order and waited with a pager. I was also asked for my first name when I ordered. However, when my pager went off and I went to pick up my order, the man in front of me took my order! They gave him our order obviously without checking his name. I am a girl and they had my name and my pager. The employees were looking at me like I should of known? Are they crazy? The guy who handed out my order said he couldn't believe the man took my order? Well, he gave it to him! Then, I had to wait for them to fix me a new order as the man took my two soups and sandwiches. I checked the bag and they gave me the wrong soup! Really! This is stupid! When I got home, the food was good, but the broccoli cheddar soup made me very sick. I can't blame the store for sure but I wouldn't be surprised if I had a touch of food poison. My daughter didn't get as sick as me, but her stomach hurt for a day. I can't say food poison due to the fact the soup is very, very, super rich and thick. I had the ham, egg and cheese farmhouse sandwich. Egg is over medium but could have had scrambled. Sandwich was delicious even though it was a little small for the $4.89 price. Can't complain too much because it was definitely quality ingredients. Quite a bit of good quality ham on the sandwich. Not a lot of people in the restaurant on a Sunday late morning and had normal service. I would recommend the sandwich as a great option to the unhealthy sandwich options available at other fast food restaurants. read more

Overpriced, tasteless and dirty silverware....exactly what you would expect to get each time you go to Panera. The secret is to get the plastic fork and spoon even if you eat there, but you have to ask for it. Best not to think about what might be caked to the inside of the soup bowl you're eating from. I stopped in yesterday to get a coffee and a bearclaw. The line was backed up to the door and there was just one checker station open. This was at 9:30 in the morning. On another visit there was no coffee. Can't believe it. The store never has enough checkers. I love the food and atmosphere but the services is very poor. I've ordered sandwiches and salads online 5 or 6 times, twice from the counter, plus once by phone, average order for 5, $55. Reliable clean food. Excellent chicken caesar salad. Sandwiches are good but a bit skimpy so I usually upgrade for $2; the upgrade produces a gushing too-stuffed sandwich, so Panera just can't win. On one online order I specified the available options for no onion on two sandwiches, no feta on two more, and added avocado on the last two; when I got the order home we found the standard with-onion, with-feta, without-avocado sandwiches. OK, so no tragedy, but still, I did pay $3.18 for the avocado, but I wasn't going to drive back to the store about that. I chalked it up to a new employee or an ultra-busy crew in the kitchen. Drinks in take-out orders: Avoid fountain sodas in cups which will (promise) tip over and leak no matter how they are packed, not appropriate for take-out orders in paper bags. There are some bottled, canned, and boxed drinks available, but none of the usual sodas; they should stock some. Sometimes the line moves slowly; some inexperienced employees may need a little more training and hand-holding. Still, Panera Vero Beach is one of our favorite sandwich take-out places. read more

I had ordered my lunch at 2:20 PM and was told that it would take approximately 30 minutes to receive it. My lunch got here at 3:47 PM and was the wrong order. I had ordered a bread bowl and soup, to which they only gave me a cup of cold soup and a bag of chips??! So, knowing that accidents happen all the time, I called to speak with the manager to try and sort it out only for her to put me on hold for almost an hour. When she got on the phone, she replied "I didn't know you were on hold" because her employee failed to tell her I was waiting to speak with her. Needless to say, I got my money back but I will NEVER give them my business ever again. This was the second time I had tried to order for them only for them to fail. Recently ordered take out for dinner. The chicken Panini and turkey Panini were delicious. Very fresh and had gourmet quality even though it is an ingredient short of being a home sandwich. I enjoyed the spices on them. Also had the cheesy broccoli soup. It was okay. I tasted more cheese than broccoli. Could use some better seasoning. The chocolate chip muffin was a little dry but chocolatey enough. The low fat strawberry smoothie was a little weird. It had the taste of being spoiled or rotten but I figured it was because they had a lot of low fat stuff in it. Overall, i really enjoyed it. I rarely if ever post a review, but my Saturday morning experience today was so bad I must share. First, the bathroom was not clean and lacked attention. Second, the food delivery from the kitchen was slow, unorganized and under staffed. Third, the breakfast bagel sandwich was burnt on the outside and cold on the inside, and not eatable. Finally, no manager in sight to police the unkept general conditions including sticky dirty tables. This former regular was very disappointed, and won't be back any time soon. read more

Just ordered delivery and they forgot half the order including a fork so I could not eat my salad. Called to see if they could deliver the remaining items they forgot and they acted like it was an inconvenience. One of the items they were out of and so they just didn't include it rather than calling to see if we wanted to substitute. Napkins would also be nice to include. I come into this Panera frequently to get an iced coffee, and occasionally a pastry, before heading to the office. For about a week and a half, they have been out of iced coffee every single time (no exaggeration). If they are out, obviously someone is drinking it (especially if it is out by 8am) but none of the employees are trained to check. This morning, it was out again, and I informed the employees and then waited...for 20 minutes. One of the employees then informed me that they hadn't made any backup iced coffee (in Florida, in the middle of July, when they are always out...) and that my only choice would be to put a little extra ice in the newly made "iced" coffee that comes out of the machine hot. This is simply poor management trickling down to the poorly trained employees. If you cannot keep coffee made, why even bother? Two days ago, I got a you-pick-two with a steak and arugula sandwich, and the sandwich was about the size of a golf ball and terribly put together ($5.85 for the sandwich portion of the you-pick-two). This Panera is very conveniently located and is always busy and has a loyal following of retired persons from the area, BUT what is the point in patronizing a business if the service is so poor that you pay for a product, you're told that they're out of that product, and leave having paid but never getting what you paid for? Train your staff or hire better managers. If you read the other more recent reviews of this Panera, you can see that this is not a new problem and I am not alone in my sentiments... read more

Panera is a fantastic place for a quick bite or casual lunch. The food is always good. They are busy all the time, so sometimes seating is a problem. I noticed this week there was an awning added outside over the seating aea. What a great solution to the crowding. No one wants to purchase their meal and then have to go sit in the hot sun (or rain!) because the inside seating is full. Seating, to me is their only problem. I have always found the staff to be very cordial and helpful. Management is quick to step in if necessary. Yea! on the awning!! I hope the future for Panera Vero Beach is to add another store on the west side of town. If it is managed as well as the one in town, it will be an assured hit. read more

Reasons why I like Panera: 1. It's a great alternative to burgers and fries. 2. It relatively quiet. 3. I love the salads! Especially the Ancient Grain Arugula and Chicken Salad. Consisting of arugula, coleslaw mix, red grapes, fuji apple slices, and white balsamic dressing. The Ingredents offer a nice contrast of flavors and textures that go well with each other. The bread is decent too. Not super gourmet but definitely not cheap wonder bread like. The soups are very good as well. I had the baked potato soup. It was good. I wish they did a creamy seafood bisque for these colder months if the cold weather ever makes it down to Florida. Thanks El Niño! Want something different? Panera is one of my favorite places to visit wherever I travel, unfortunately the one in my home town of Vero Beach is the one I will no longer visit. I never write bad reviews, if I have a problem I let the manager know and give them a second chance. In this case management doesn't care and never reached out to me. I ordered breakfast for a staff meeting at my office, I placed the order on line on a Monday for a Tuesday 6:40am pick up. I arrived to pick up the order and it wasn't there. I asked the cashier, she checked the computer to see if it was received and told me the computer never notified them that an order was sent. She told me it would take "a few minutes" to make the order so I waited. After 10 minutes I was given the order, the cashier said sorry and turned away. While the order was being prepared the manager approached the girl making it, they said a few words to each other while looking at me and proceeded to make the order. The manager never said anything to me. I was late for my meeting (which was embarrassing since corporate management was present), I tried to contact local management but had no success. I messaged Panera on their Facebook page where someone apologized and said a local franchisee would be in touch. No one contacted me so here I am. I will take my business to Einstein Bagels or Brooklyn Water Bagels on the North side of town....The best bagels in Vero hands down.
