Panera of West Chester used to be noticeably better than other Panera locations. When you came here, you really felt at home. Especially as a regular. The employees seemed happy to be at work, the food was fresh and well made, service came with a smile and warm greetings, and it was always an all around pleasant experience. A couple of weeks ago there was a change in management, and the new manager (Amber) has really changed the place for the worse. Days she's there, the employees are noticeably less happy than days she isn't. The food isn't as fresh. Customers are just treated as customers and there is less of a "homey" or "welcoming" feeling. There's nothing particularly exceptional about Panera of West Chester anymore, and that makes me sad. This used to be one of my favorite establishments, but no longer. read more

I stopped in to grab breakfast and had a sesame bagel with bacon, egg, and cheddar. It was toasty, perfectly crunchy on the outside with lovely grill marks, and flavorful (gotta love the cheddar!). Despite their fast food set up where you stand in line to order your food and then pick it up down the hall and take your tray to a table you hope you find, I found the food to be surprisingly good. It's a place I've known about for a long time and just passed by until recently, and now I'm glad I stopped in, and I look forward to going back. Took my boyfriend here today for his first time as it's my favorite fast food lunch option. His sandwich was burnt and I was devastated that he wouldn't like it... I've returned items in New York but it was because they knew me and as a service industry employee I don't complain. The manager (assuming) walked by and looked at it and immediately offered to make a new one without any complaint from us... the new one was excellent. Went to this Panera Bread for the final time over the last couple of years. I order a FULL SIZE simple Sesame chicken salad which is no more than some lettuce, crispy Chinese noodles, a small sprinkle of sliced nuts, a (very) few pieces of sliced chicken and some dressing. What I get is a 1/2 salad in a full size bowl for my $9. Then they bury the chicken under the salad so you really can't determine the amount of chicken you're getting either. I commented how lame the portion size was to the manager but she didn't seem to care. I've stopped coming here twice over the past 1+ years because of the ridiculous potion size compared to other local Panera Breads. A friend of mine had the same issue with this location which she voiced totally unprovoked and stopped coming here a while ago. This was my third and final chance for this place, consistently chintzy over time. read more

I go here about two to four times per year. It's not the most spectacular place ever, but I do love a good sandwich. I always get the bacon turkey bravo sandwich and I'm never disappointed. I love the taste and texture of the sundried tomato bread! I've never tried to access their wifi and I've never tried their other dishes. If I'm ever disappointed with the bacon turkey bravo I'll be sure to try something else before I write them off. Even though the cafeteria setup may not inspire confidence, I've never had bad service there. read more

First, the GOOD news: Panera serves quick, healthy meals that are great on nights when we have no time to cook dinner. Now the BAD news: This Panera location has REPEATEDLY gotten our orders wrong! Everything from leaving out items to giving us the wrong item. The latest was an order of chicken noodle soup for our sick son. When we got the order home, the slip said "chicken noodle" but what we got instead was broccoli cheddar. (There were only two items in the order, so it's not like it should have been complicated.) They've been very apologetic every time we call to complain, but this is getting old. read more

I have been to this Panera many times, there is always some debris on the floor, or a few tables that haven't been wiped down, etc. I just chalked it up to higher volume times. Today, 11/3/2019 my family and I went in to grab some lunch and I could not believe how disgustingly dirty this restaurant was. The food and trash all over the floor was completely unacceptable. I overheard another customer complaining to the manager about the conditions. Unfortunately this manager came up with every excuse instead of listening, she really copped an attitude. I switched our order to take-out because I just couldn't eat there. Get home, and to top it off, my order was wrong! read more

I didn't catch his name but the gentlemen who cleans up at Panera Bread is the nicest man in the world. I didn't catch is name but he was born in another country and has a long pony tail with several hair bands in it. I work from home with 2 children under 3 years old, today the power went out all day and I had to get some documents out for work. I came in there with a car seat in one arm and a 2 year old in the other hand and he saw my struggles and came to my rescue. He not only carried my drink to my table for me, he offered to pick up my food and deliver it to me!! AND he came over from time to time to entertain my son. He went above and beyond his job duties and I am extremely grateful for that!! I hope corporate reads these types of reviews and acknowledges an outstanding employee when they have one. read more

Been here so many times with my boyfriend. The food, mostly the creamy tomato soup, is great. The service, is somewhat ok. But the food is what you come for. Sometimes, i pick up a loaf of either ciabatta or French bread to bring home. The sandwiches and salads are good too. Given the very heavy lunch crowd, management and staff stepped up to get orders completed and guests taken care of in a timely manner. Despite a huge curve ball thrown at them, everyone kept their composure, adapted and continued onward. Usually this Panera is good, but today they messed up my drink order. I ordered a frozen caramel w/ no whipped cream. What a got was a hot coffee latte. Up until my last couple of visits, I would have given Panera 5 stars. A couple of visits back, I ordered and paid for a full salad, but returned home only to find half a salad. I saved the box and receipt and took it back to them. The manager's response was "What do you want me to do about it?" - and not in a "how can I make this right" attitude. Very cocky! Then yesterday I bought a salad and a flat bread sandwich to go. The bag remained upright the whole time, BUT found the sandwich out of the box, in the bottom of the bag! I didn't give Panera a four-star rating in terms of the chain of restaurants itself, but this Panera in particular seems to be a cut above the rest. They are efficient with their ordering process, serving their food, and keeping the restaurant clean. I was particularly surprised to see that one of the workers was walking around from time to time clearing plates and trays from tables. Furthermore, while I was finishing up my lunch the manager came by and inquired how my meal had been. Finally, I was impressed when one of the workers stopped and picked up a straw paper from the floor as he was walking by. It seems like a small gesture, but I can't tell you how often workers definitely see something on the floor and just pass it by. I'm not sure if this Panera is better because of the quality of the workers, the quality of the management, or both, but they set themselves apart from other stores in this chain. read more

this location is always good for us. It is honestly busy pretty much always, and the layout is nice and can cater to many different people. Whether you are just going for a meal with a couple of people, or going alone with a laptop to get some work done, you can do either, and still be productive. When I order, it is either for both of us, or just for my girlfriend. We usually call ahead, and it makes it much faster with their quick pickup. I can just go in and pay, and then my order will be sitting on a shelf a little bit further down the counter. Grab it and go, and the food is always good and never have had a bad order. read more

do not eat here unless you want to get robbed while your having lunch. my wallet was stolen right out of my purse while i was sitting there. to make it even worse the store manager who had a direct visual access to the video footage told me he wouldnt help me identify who stole my wallet. he simply told me "oh yeah his happens at the exton location also". so after i was robbed my cards were split up between five different people so they went to target, dicks, nordstrom, dsw, wegmans and started spending away.. beware beware beware beware. just go somewhere else for lunch and save yourself the nightmare. read more
