Do not call into this location .... try to place online or in the app if you do. They never seem to select the right thing when you order with an actual person which sucks because the app isn't the best for modifications on regular sandwiches for cheese... so lose lose i guess. I usually order a custom meat & cheese which is no charge extra for 3 meats. but instead she rung me up for a sandwhich and just charged 4x the meat. thankfully i noticed before leaving but $44 for 2 sandwiches due to their employee not caring and just ringing in whatever is crazy. On top of this I'm ordering a hoagie tray for my staff lunch pickup is at 11:45 and has been scheduled A WEEK in advance... I understand they are busy for the holidays so as I walked in @11:40am 5 minutes before my pickup time they told me it would be a 10-15 minute. which is fine but then as every person walks in the door they are shouting 15-20 min wait for walk ins ... 3 different people 3 times. I used to order the chicken parm sandwich and it was very good but then the last two sandwiches I got the chicken was burnt and dry. I stopped ordering the chicken sandwiches. I started ordering the cheese steak sandwiches. the first two were very good. The last one that I had the meat was like it was left over from the lunch time and was reheated. Disappointing. I ordered one of their Italian hoagies with lettuce, tomato and onion plus some other condiments. The person spoke so quickly (kind of like Beaker from the Muppets) I though they said "oil, vinegar and oregano", but the last word evidently was mayo. Who puts mayonnaise on an Italian hoagie. Sacrilege. There was one slice of prosciutto, one slice of salami, plenty of sharp provolone, but NO hot coppocolo, just lots and lots of American style ham. Always fine service but attention to detail is always an issue. Ordered Diablo and added hot peppers to find sweet peppers added. May be minor but the detail is what makes people return or not. Not store related but the app made me reregister and I had 449 rewards points and I do not see my order added and the receipt had no rewards code, so just be cautious if using the app and you have points. read more

Comment regarding the Exton locatio. I can't comment on the hoagie I wanted. i stood at the counter. There was a guy dutifully fulfilling an order. The young person who was supposed to be working the counter was talking to someone eating their sandwich. I waited for longer than I cared to and I walked out. Happily, there was a location a little farther away. I drove there and the young person on the counter took my order. He gave me "sirs" was polite, suggested additional toppings (which was good because I forgot to ask for sweet peppers). As they say, you get one chance to make a first impression. Let me start off by saying that this place is corporate-ized. Which I generally don't like. The prices are not super cheap but moderate. It took $10.50 to fill me up without and drink. This was the Primo size which is what I'd suggest if you are hungry. I got the Turkey Schwartzie and it was good. The standouts in flavor were the 1000 island dressing, which was superb, and the turkey, which tasted fresh and delicious. The bread was very hearty and good, but not great. Overall, the lunch atmosphere was inviting and casual. It does feel pretty franchise-y though. If that's not an issue for you, check this place out. My sandwich was very good. read more

The hoagies were good. The issue is with the staff. Been there a few times and each time saw them being rude to the delivery drivers (Doordash, Uber, ect..). The driver was given a bag and told "You can grab a soda and another type item". No please or a thank you when they did it. The driver asked if they are rered to pick the item. They were rudely told that they are busy and do not have time to add the items for the driver. I talked to a driver and they said they always do that. I know it is not the driver's job but the drier said what are you going to do? Attitude is a big thing when ordering food. Wish their management had respect for those drivers. read more

DO NOT ORDER CATERING FROM HERE. I placed a catering order via phone to the owner, George, on 6/2/23 at 2:15 PM for a pickup date of 6/10/23 at 12:00 pm. When My father and brother went to pick up my order, it was not made. There was no record of my order in their system. They made the order on the spot. The sandwiches were messily made, just thrown together and it was incorrect. This catering order was for my bridal shower. The food was late and it was humiliating to have this happen infront of my 30+ guests. I went to the store on Sunday 6/11 to speak with someone about what happened. One of the employees, Sylvia, took my contact info down and told me she would have George call me later that day. I did not receive a call from him until Tuesday 6/13 at 11:43 am. I had to call corporate twice, I spoke with Jamie, in order to get a call back from him. When I spoke with him, he was extremely rude, unprofessional, condescending, unapologetic, and overall a complete disgrace to Primo Hoagies. I could not believe he was the owner. He kept saying "you want a refund for food that was 20 minutes late?" He then proceeded to ask me "have you ever ordered food before? Things happen, it was late" downplaying my situation and my dissatisfaction. And the fact was - It was never in their system to begin with, and Sylvia confirmed that. He continuously interrupted me, and made it seem like he was not interested in providing a refund, or any sort of resolution to my problem. When i told him it was for my bridal shower, he said "we have lots of events. Graduations, bridal showers, baby showers" as if my event was unimportant. At the end of our conversation he said "you know what, I'm going to give you a full refund." And then he sarcastically wished me the best in my marriage. This man is a narcissistic, disgrace of not only a business owner, but a human being. The conversation should have gone very differently. He should have called me on Sunday like I was told, or latest Monday. He should have started off by apologizing for not only the delay in him contacting me, but also for my order being messed up. there should have been no argument regarding a refund. That should've been obvious. He also lied about being the one to take my order on 6/2 and blamed it on another employee stating they wrote the incorrect date down. So he admitted that there was a mistake made, and he still was arguing with me about a refund. George should be fired, immediately, so he does not have a chance to treat anyone else like I was treated. read more

I grew up eating Italian hoagies in West Chester and the surrounding area - many of those old deli's simply don't exist or have changed so much I don't recognize them. I'm old school when it comes to what I expect on mine. It's simply really - the combination and amount of meats/cheese, the bread, and the condiments are pretty well understood. So how come you there are so few really good Hoagie shops? Primo is my speed. Total old school. I heard about it this summer, and went to check it out. Now I'm hooked. You're gonna pay more than a lot of places, but man is it worth it. Just thinking about their hoagies sets my mouth to watering. It a generous sandwich, made with a fantastic selection of meats, sharp provolone and their own recipe for the rolls made by one of the leading philly bread companies. It even beats John's, and Foster Boys in my opinion. Sorry I can't speak to their many other types of hoagies and sandwiches, but if they are anywhere close to the Italian, you're in for treat. read more

I wish I could give this 0 stars for extremely poor customer service. After my husband and I ran some errands at the Exton Mall, we wanted to pick up some hoagies to watch the Eagles game with. When we got home, we found that they gave us the wrong hoagies. Marked wrong and everything. When my husband called, they were very uncooperative. They refused to make the situation right with us- they wouldn't even entertain the conversation! I'm pregnant so I can't eat deli meat so I was extremely disappointed. We asked to to speak to the manager, we literally heard the manager say, "who cares, just hang up on him". The young girl on the phone even confirmed he said that because we heard him clear as day. I cannot believe that Primo's would treat their customers like this or employ managers who speak to customers like this. He also refused to get on the phone because he was too busy. Too busy for a paying customer??? If we didn't live so far away, then we would have been back demanding our money back in person. I feel cheated, ripped off and extremely frustrated with the lack of customer service and the ruddiness we experienced today. I will not be coming back here and I will find other ways to get the word out on social media. This is just extremely upsetting. On the Primo's website, it states "our customers are important to us" - clearly they are not! Hopefully I influence at one one other person to eat elsewhere or another primo's instead of this location. read more

Primo makes sandwiches that would make Joey Tribbiani weep with happiness. Three things to remember when you're ordering at Primo: 1. Always order the Primo size or larger. Doing so means you get the 'good bread' -- the kind with sesame seeds. 2. Keeping rule number one in mind, know that you're getting a substantial sandwich. This isn't some teeny mincing morsel served with afternoon tea. This is a gut bomb that will have you loosening your belt and groaning with pleasure. 3. Quality isn't cheap. Some sandwiches will cost upwards of $10 and yes, you could probably get two for that price elsewhere, but I can assure you -- they will not taste nearly as good. My standard order is a slight twist on the Veggie Diablo. A regular Veggie Diablo is a lip-tingling combination of spicy fried eggplant, garlicky broccoli rabe and sharp provolone. I add bruschetta to the mix and get some fresh tomatoes, onions and olive oil. A great addition for two reasons: A) It tastes out of this world. B) The bruschetta softens up the crusty roll. Then there are NFL Sunday afternoons. If you are looking for a solid "Philly style" hoagie outside of South Philly, Primo is probably one of the best chains you can hit up. I was very happy to find out they've opened one in Exton. The Exton store is pretty similar to the other Primo locations I've been to, other than the seating is larger, with a few LCD TVs set up to catch the game on TV - That's a nice touch vs. the take out locations. However, you don't go to Primo for the seating and ambiance, you go for the hoagies. Their italian is one of the better ones I've had (particularly from a chain), but they have a TON of varieties. The chicken cutlet with broccoli rabe is also extremely good. And as always, the best part is the bread - They use crusty rolls that absolutely make the sandwich. As far as sandwiches go, they aren't cheap. But you definitely get quality with them. And nothing beats a hoagie, some chips, and a beer while watching the game with friends. read more

I am so excited that this new Primo Hoagies place opened up near my house. Prior to this, the closest one was about 22 minutes away. The staff was friendly. The service relatively fast. The place was clean and cute. The food was good. I had my usual Bada Bing sandwich, which I just can not get away from ordering, because it is amazing. It is a breaded chicken cutlet with sharp provolone and broccoli rabe on a fresh chewy roll. I also had some pulled mozzarella, which was a tiny bit disappointing. I was told they are pretty much the same thing as the mozzarella balls that they have. And I guess they were, but the texture due to the difference in shape did make me a bit sad. But I know for next time to shell out the bit extra for the ball shape (they are probably the same price per lb. the mozzarella balls are just heavier). My 2 small gripes with Primo Hoagies in general, meaning I know these are chain wide things and not specific to this store is 1. that the containers for the mozzarella just does not make sense. They float in this wonderful herbed oil (I usually use it later as a salad dressing), which always leaks out the sides of the container. 2. Also the prices always seem to be a bit on the high side. I agree that their hoagies are of good quality and of a good size, so it does balance it out a bit. read more

If you've been to the Primo's in the Wells Fargo Center don't be fooled. It's not the same. They basically premake it all and then just slop it onto a roll for you. Not the same! I had a training scheduled and checked my Yelp app to see that a real Primo's Hoagies was the closest stop for lunch. How do I fall into this type of luck! I've ordered these at work a few times before and they have always been good, so must try out this new location. Place was small but they had stuffed hot peppers and olives as free trials sitting on a tray at the order counter. You have won my admiration. I ordered the Suprimo which is Prosciutto & Fresh Mozzarella with Roasted Red Peppers. If the description doesn't get you then you have no soul. Upon receiving my order I bit in with a side of salt and pepper potato chips and a cold soda. A great hoagie and worth your time. If you are not the proscuitto type like me then maybe a Schwartzie is more your speed. Corned beef anyone? Had those before and it's another gem. Its a primos. If you've eaten at one you know what youre getting. Delicious hoagies on good bread. A large selection of hoagies. I'm not sure how customizable they are, but I imagine they would be accomodating. Im a big fan of the Diablo line of hoagies that add some spiceyness to the standard hoagie. The veggie diablo is awesome. My biggest knock is the speed of preparation. This isn't a comment on this particular location but the primo brand in general. Its more of a psuedo quick service, because I feel like I typically wait 10 minutes for a hoagie even when the place is empty. Stopped in this weekend to have lunch on our way to a wedding. We ordered two primo sized hoagies. The person at the register was fine, but didn't ask us what we wanted on the hoagies. We sat down and waited expecting maybe they put everything unless otherwise told. When we received the sandwiches, there was nothing. My husband went up to ask and was told you must request any sauces/veggies. I found this to be ridiculous since I've been to many sandwich shops, including other Primo locations and never had to request these before. The food was good after it was corrected and the counter guy was very kind about correcting the mistake. The sandwiches were stuffed and I couldn't finish mine despite being starving. This Primo location is one of my favorites. They delivery to my work most weekdays and really produce a quality sandwich. The staff is always nice, whether in store or on a delivery. You really cannot ask for a better, quality sandwich shop. I highly recommend the Pal Joey and the Napolitano! During the holidays avoid the Pilgrim and go with the Wawa Gobbler instead. read more

After all the advertising, I expected better. This was my first time to try Primo and the new Downingtown location...Called in early...arrived in 15 minutes and had to wait another 15. Plenty of good meat, but skimpy on the lettuce and tomatoes. White bread hoagie roll was forgettable. There was no balance to this hoagie....just lots of meat. Again, I love Primo's hoagies. They are great but they ain't cheap. The Exton branch is a good location. Service is usually really good though they do get backed up around lunch time during the week so you may want to call ahead. I recommend anything on their "Diablo" menu. read more

Primo has the best Italian hoagies outside of the Italian market in Philly, i love the sharp mild italian and i cant get enough of them.
