My husband and I went to this Panera to have lunch. We ordered at the kiosk and picked up our meal at the counter. We found a both and sat down to enjoy our meal. We split a You Pick Two (Harvest Medley Chicken Salad, Bacon Turkey Bravo sandwich, and apple). The food was good and standard, just what I expect. We were offered a $2 pastry so we got the chocolate chip muffie. The restaurant was nice and clean. It was pretty busy around noon when we went. The parking can be pretty full, so we parked pretty far away. We had a good experience and would come back to this Panera Bread. read more

Don't go here... They used to have some of the best baked goods, but in a recent business decision they have switched to frozen "baked" goods. The bread is tough, dense, and lacking in flavor. You might as well go to Walmart, because it tastes about the same now. Honestly, their bagels may even be worse now. Ordered a Ciabatta Cheesesteak using the kiosk. Staff member greeted me as I walked by heading to the waiting area. Staff checked on me to see what it was I needed. Food made fast and was delicious!!! Sandwich was made as I requested and the ingredients were plentiful. Are the prices high? Yes. But all places are due to the economy. Quality is great so you're going to pay for it. If you want cheap and lower quality sandwiches go to other shops. read more

Had a late lunch here last week with a friend. They were not busy at all. My order was simple. Half Green Goddess salad and half buffalo melt sandwich and a small drink. My order came to $19.99 and they expected a tip on top of that. I had to repeat this order three times and ask for my cup and receipt. I received my receipt, but no cup and had to ask again. I love their teas and lemonades. I love their Green Goddess Salad. When I got my food, my sandwich was not what I ordered so I looked at the receipt. Receipt said Crispy Chicken sandwich. This was not that. It had Parmesan crisps on it. So I took it back and explained the problem. They did correct it and gave me a full sandwich instead of the half I paid for which was nice but the sandwich bread was very hard, there was hardly any chicken on it and there was little to no flavor. My Panera experience is usually limited to bagels, but I was persuaded to meet there for lunch by a colleague. Hardworking staff and fresh food, but I'm just not a fan of the smallish portion sizes. The sandwich tasted good but was about six bites. I'm not sure if that assessment is a reflection of the size of my mouth or the size of the sandwich. The chips now come in even smaller bags (1.0 ounce), next step they will be the size of soup cracker pouches. A skinny pickle spear rounded out the entree. Four stars for helpful staff and freshness. I like Panera Bread and I've been to all three of Panera Bread locations in Greater Lafayette. This one is particularly busy during the lunch hour due to many Purdue students, faculty and staff who stop here. Surface parking at Wabash Landing is very limited. I've not braved the parallel parking spots along State Street, but it is an option. There is also a parking garage behind the hotel, and it's a few minutes walk to Panera. (Lafayette residents aren't keen on parking garages; I'll leave that rant for another time.) Anyway, Panera is one of my go-to restaurants for lunch. Healthy, fresh ingredients and friendly, fast service. Can't go wrong. read more

Tried the new delivery service today. Food was very fast! The French onion soup was good, as always but the corn chowder was jut not tasty. It needed a lot of something to make it not taste like puke. Chicken salad sandwich was so beyond bland. I even added arugula, red onion, spinach, and cucumber. Tasted like nothing.I usually love Panera but felt this was a disappointment. Update- the chicken chipotle sandwich is amazing! Haven't had a bad meal here and staff is always friendly. However it's no secret that value is far from Panera Bread's mind. Portion sizes are smaller and less filling than 5 Guys, Panda Express, Moe's, Green Leaf, and Lotsa just to name a few in the close vicinity. Also this location seems nice but there's a lack of open parking spaces during busy weekends. It's a large and well designed place and accommodates small and large groups. Outside seating is great for the summer. Sandwiches and soups are the typical Panera: super excessively salty and expensive but no other fast casual place I know does salads this good - good at helping forget you just dropped $8.50 on some bunny fare. For healthier non-salad food at this price point I highly recommend Town & Gown Bistro just down on River Rd does some amazing pasta, burgers, and breakfast foods, similar prices and way higher quality. If sit-down takes too long, go right up Chauncy for Qdoba, Captian Gyros, 5 Guys, Panda Express, or AJ's - all offer a lot more food for the price. Panera is a weird mix of pretend health (those sandwiches have way too much sodium for real nutrition types) and high prices. I keep hoping they get their act together and stop shipping in the soup from St Louis and offer real ingredients really worth 50% more than Wendys. read more

We stopped at this Panera on our way to Purdue University. We went there for breakfast! Normally we stop at Panera Breads for lunch. I have favorites items that I love at Panera. So, breakfast at Panera was new to us. I ordered the Spinach artichoke souffle, and split a bear claw sweet roll with my son. Both were great! They also always have very fresh and tasty coffee. I definitely recommend Panera bread for breakfast stops, now! We'll be back. One drawback, however, might be the temptation of ordering more food than you need, just because it looks and tastes so good! read more

Worst Panera ever! I would give it zero stars if I could. I placed an order for curbside pickup yesterday for 6:45 PM. I arrived and clicked on the button saying I was there at 6:47 PM. It replied saying "You're Here" and that my order would be out shortly. It never came. I waited for more than half an hour, called the national customer "service" number, which was no help, and called the local number twice - the first time it rang 40 or 50 times before disconnecting itself and the second time it just disconnected without ringing. I never received my food and had to go to Wendy's instead - which is what I should have done in the first place. This Panera has always had bad management with faulty orders and sometimes long wait times, but this is the first time I was stiffed completely. They charged my credit card but never brought out my food and it was impossible to reach them by phone - this is unacceptable. During the more than 30 minutes I was there they brought out food to one other party and people were going in and out so I know they were supposedly doing curbside pickup. I will never go to this Panera again and you shouldn't either - they are the worst and apparently not capable of doing curbside pickup. I know things are tough during the epidemic but they've had ten months to practice and should have it down by now. read more

EXCEPT: my cup lid was crimped up, went to counter and an employee whose 1st name started with a "C", took my lid and proceeded to use his NON-GLOVED hands and 'fixed" it. I have never had a bad experience at this Panera. The service is always friendly and the food is always fresh. My favorites are the chicken salad sandwich, the unsweet iced tea, and their mac and cheese. Okay. My favorite is the mac and cheese. I just put the rest of that stuff there because my reviews are probably getting a little repetitive lately with all of my mentions of "mac and cheese." Really, everything is good at Panera, but when you put "Vermont white cheddar macaroni and cheese" in front of me, you can't expect me to focus on anything else. I'm not a big fan of their chai, but that's more a personal preference, I think. Panera is consistently good, no matter which location I go to, so there's not too much to say about this one in particular. It is usually fairly full, but never so full that you can't find a seat. Even during the busy lunch hour, your food comes up very quickly. The staff is friendly, and the food is delicious. I prefer to dine at local restaurants over national chains, but there are no local places that have sandwiches that are as good as Panera, so I end up eating at Panera about once a week! read more

A lovely place to drop in for some heart-warming cafe food on a cold winter evening or just to sit outside and enjoy a sunny summer afternoon. If the sandwiches, soup or coffee aren't enough, buy a fresh baguette or croissant to savor at home. I had the steak & white cheddar cheese on a baguette with a cup of coffee (unlimited refills for the dine-in version). The sandwich was fair (the baguette was crusty, just the way I like it) and the horseradish sauce balanced the cheddar and the steak well. Regardless, it was a bit one-note after a while and could have used a side-salad to sparkle the dish (I was offered a side of bread, apple or chops). The service was excellent, and the ambiance, welcoming. I would certainly dine here again. read more

We have been to this Panera two separate times as a large group and both times we left with disappointed. Food poisoning aside (yes, really), I feel the need to point out one specific incident. While waiting in line with our large group, the manager opened up a second register. In line was a group of teenagers and a middle-aged man who apparently have not been to Panera enough times to know what they wanted. They briefly left the register to go look at the menu (irritatingly located towards the back of the restaurant). In the meantime, a woman in her 80s walks straight up to register now without a line, and the manager couldn't have been more rude. "Ma'am, MA'AM, do you not see those people over there?? You need to WAIT. HELLOOO LOOK OVER THERE. PLEASE WAIT". She didn't say a thing just simply stepped up to the open register. I understand our large group can be stressful, but never in our experiences with nearly 50 different Paneras across the country (I'm not kidding) have we ever experienced a manager so rude and overwhelmed. We brought the woman over to our line to get her away from him because she was clearly upset. In fact, she was able to get through our line quicker since the manager clearly lacks competence in more areas than customer service. Between missing food in to-go orders, food poisoning, and terrible customer service we will never support this Panera again. Panera has pretty good food! They specialize in fresh baked goods including bagels, breads, pastries, and other sweet breads. Panera also has great soups, salads, and sandwiches. The upside: QUALITY - I feel like Panera is a step above other fast food restaurants in terms of food quality. The ingredients aren't frozen and full of preservatives. I love the fuji apple chicken salad and french onion soup! EFFICIENCY - another impressive thing about Panera is the efficiency with which they handle customers. I've seen lines of customers extending nearly out the door during peak hours, yet the wait time remains relatively short. The downside: PRICE - Panera is twice as expensive as other fast food places. PARKING - the parking is a nightmare. I can't stress this enough - you literally cant find a parking spot during lunch hours. Several other businesses located in the same shopping plaza are vacant and I strongly suspect that's due to the lack of parking. Overall, I like Panera! It fills a niche that exists somewhere between fast-food and sit-down dining by providing freshly made soups, salads, and sandwiches made to order at fast pace. Panera has always been one of my favorite places for food and this specific Panera is no exception. The food was delivered very quickly and as always tasted very fresh.
