This hidden gem cafe tucked away in Midtown Reno is probably one of my favorite spots that I've discovered so far, with extremely high quality roasts of coffee and innovative, artfully crafted lattes made by their friendly baristas. We ordered the cookie crumb latte and peppermint bark latte, and both were delightfully concocted from high quality ingredients (actual peppermint bits/cookies instead of artificial syrup) and not too sweet! After seeing that Pangolin Cafe was ranked a top 5 coffee shop in the U.S., I knew I had to try it. This place deserves all the hype and much more! Since the pandemic, most coffee shops I've visited have been somewhat disappointing and not at all worth the money. Pangolin Cafe reminded me why I used to love going to coffee shops. I visited on Easter Sunday and there were a decent number of people in the cafe. Regardless, service was fast. Pangolin Cafe does many things right, but the customer service is the best I've received in years. The folks working were warm and welcoming and you could tell they wanted to be there. All three employees working went out of their way to greet every customer and make sure everyone had what they wanted. I would come back to Pangolin just for the customer service, but the food and drinks are great too! First of all, I am confident Pangolin could charge much more for their food and drink, but the fact that it doesn't makes me like the place that much more. I got the Pistachio Latte, which is the most expensive thing on the menu at $5.25. At most other places, $5.25 is the lower end of coffee prices! We also got a Cubano Breve. Both drinks were delicious and weren't too hot when they came out, which I really appreciated because we were able to drink them right away and not have to wait for our drinks to cool down. The Pistachio Latte was unlike anything I've ever had before. We also got a jalapeno cheddar bagel with spicy cream cheese and a spinach and ricotta pastry. They were both good, but the bagel wasn't anything special. The pastry was great and unlike any other pastry I've had at a coffee shop before. I was really surprised to find out that every drink comes with a free Turkish Delight. We had the vanilla rose and tart cherry Turkish Delights, which were also both good but of the two, I liked the tart cherry one more. On top of all of that, Pangolin Cafe has really nice decor. It feels very welcoming and I can totally see myself working from Pangolin during the week when it is (hopefully) less busy. The decor (maps of Reno, Portland, and Istanbul and a topological map of Tahoe) and plants in the cafe are some of my favorite things I've ever seen and I now want similar decor for my home. Overall, I highly recommend Pangolin Cafe. I will definitely be back (probably more than I should) in the future. There are a lot of coffee shops in Reno, and particularly in Midtown, but Pangolin is hands down the best option. read more

I saw a little bit on our news one morning about the Turkish Delights made here. It was all about it being local and authentic to what Turkish delight is, made with premium ingredients, no fillers, nothing extras I have looked for Turkish delight in the past for a specific gift and we have it here, in Reno! Granted they were limited in flavors on our first visit but more is being made today. So, we went back again the next day to pick up a handful of samplers! I can say this is going to be a favorite spot from now on. The people are just wonderful, friendly and inviting. The drink menu isn't overly large, but it is certainly varied from a spicy chai to a floral lemonade. My daughter and I have tried 4 items thus far and all are delightful. Pistachio latte is positively dreamy. It's like a hug from your favorite grandma in a mug. The whipped cream on top is almost the consistency of melted marshmallow and it's a bonus to get it as it creeps down the side of your mug. It's so rich and creamy and I know it's just the topping...but it's soooo good. Toasted pistachios are sprinkled atop the mound of whipped cream and some fall through to wait for you at the bottom of the cup. I ordered the pangolin chai on our second visit, extra spicy and it was the perfect cup on a chilly day. The spices are so vibrant in this chai and topping takes a step above anything I can make at home. The cardamom scent wafts up from the cup as you take a sip and the ginger leaves a nice after taste. My daughter is a huge fan of lavender and rose, this purple drink was totally her jam. The lavender took it right to the edge and paired with rose and lemonade it's a fun refreshing drink for anytime. Not for chugging, definitely a sip and savor drink. Her second order was the earl grey hot chocolate, two of her favorites again partied on their list of tasty treats. Both of these drinks are literally tailored to her tastes, and they do not disappoint. The hot chocolate is rich and creamy and oh so smooth. It comes with an Earl grey teabag steeping in the cup. She let it stay in there the entire time and the longer it sat, the more of the tea flavored came through. It was topped with a gorgeous heap of whipped cream I have to say has a touch of vanilla. And if you're feeling a bit peckish they have bagels and liege waffles to accompany your choice of drink. In the heart of midtown Pangolin Cafe is a hidden gem. They have unique coffees and teas and sweet Turkish delights. I had the cardamom latte with oat milk and got the delights sampler pack. They gave me a free piece of the delight for purchasing a sampler. The service was quick and the latte and delights were delicious. Love their beautiful cups adorned with their logo. The latte was piping hot and robust yet smooth and I could really taste the cardamom. The robust flavor of the latte was offset by the sweet delight - sweet, chewy and decadent. Yum! Parking is a bit of a challenge here...parking spaces are limited in front of the cafe so you may have to find parking nearby along the street. The coffee and delights are worth driving around a few times to find a parking space though. I will be back to try some of their other coffees/teas. read more

Wow! I've been hearing about Pangolin for quite some time and was so excited to try it recently. The barista that was working was so patient and kind. I ordered a cardamom latte with macadamia milk and it was so unique, spicy, and delicious! I loved that it wasn't overly sweet and more spice forward. I love coffee shops that prioritize using more herbal flavors instead of using lots of syrupy, sweet flavors for drinks. The decor is gorgeous, elegant but also comfy. They have really cozy velvet lounge chairs and beautiful life edge wooden tables. I also love that they include a Turkish delight with every drink (which is vegan btw). Went here on a trip from Reno, and my family loved it. Very nice staff, and they gave a free (and delicious) Turkish delight with the coffee. This spot def belongs in the nice Midtown area. The coffee had a nice, smooth nutty flavor, and it definitely kept me awake on the drive home back across the Sierra's. This is such an adorable coffee/treat shop! It's located by the Emerson-a little behind it which is probably why I never noticed it. I had the most delicious pistachio latte accompanied by a complimentary Turkish delight. I selected the lavender pistachio-so good! An update since my last review, Pangolin still serves the same great tasting, well crafted coffee as it did when I first discovered them four years ago. Friendly baristas, classy environment, with chill music playing in the background. I recommend trying their seasonal coffees, a favorite of mine is the Cookie Crumb Latte (it's a winter season drink, so get it while it's available). I had a cardamom latte and it was delicious. The drinks are unique and artfully presented. I really would have liked a Turkish coffee, but to my surprise, they don't make them. I can definitely see why this is nearly 5 stars with over 250 reviews. Our experience was really nice. It was our first time here and we wanted to try something different and fun. The workers were very welcoming. The coffee shop is a cute little place and nice atmosphere. We got a cubano breve, iced pistachio latte, and an Americano. The cubano breve was the perfect temperature and was so creamy with the right amount of sugar. I usually don't drink hot drinks, but I'll definitely get this again. The pistachio latte was also very delicious. The whipped cream tasted homemade and fresh. My favorite part was the pistachio crumble on top. It was sweet and had a little saltiness from the pistachio. Also we were so excited to be offered a complimentary Turkish delight on the side. I got lemon and my boyfriend got pistachio. Very good. pangolin is such a classic in reno, the addition of their delicious turkish delights really just puts it over the top for me. their coffee itself is flavorful and fruity, well made and delicious overall. they have a great array of drink options as well. i usually enjoy myself a cortado but i tried one of their flavored lattes and it was still fantastic. not too milky which is a common problem i have with flavored lattes. both me and my friends drink had a good balance of actual coffee and espresso flavor as well as the fruity latte flavor. service here is kind and fast, they pump out the drinks super efficiently and they'll give you recommendations on what's best. ambiance here is also nice, some people working and also plenty of people chatting. the interior is small but there's a nice outdoor patio space as well. overall i'll be returning! read more

Another wonderful visit to my fave coffee shop! I always do my best to drop in when I visit from Sacramento. Usually I'm able to pop in Sunday morning before heading back home which was the case this last weekend. My last two visits I ordered teas thinking that they were coffees. I finally got a coffee and it was just as good as I imagined it to be! I ordered a cuban with oat milk and it was just heavenly. The staff is always so sweet and friendly and are always very helpful with any questions they get asked. Delicious flavors that didn't overpower the coffee. I also got my Turkish Delight! Lovely place, nice service, tasty drinks, and tasty snacks. The only caveat is that the shop is small and BUSY. Not a great place to do work if cramped and bustling spaces make you anxious or distracted. It's rough having a small shop but they make it work! The lemon turkish delight is so sour!! I love it. This cute little cafe is a little hidden in a small parking lot next to Emerson bar in the heart of downtown Reno. I came here to reconnect with an old friend. We really enjoyed ourselves until it was closing time at 4pm. They serve hot and cold drinks. Along with bagels and other simple bake goods. They have Turkish Delights that they make in house without gelatin. The employees were very nice. They answered questions about the menu and made recommendations. The Chai was beyond any other Chai I've ever had. Employee gave it a little more spice than usual upon his recommendations and it was good. I've always wanted to try Turkish Delight because of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. The movie made it seem so yummy, so I wanted to try it. I'm glad this place has such a good variety too! I ordered the sampler to try one of each. I love the texture and the flavors. With each drink, you also get a piece of Turkish Delight. I tried the blood orange flavor and it is chewy like mochi and had a good blood orange taste. The drink of choice for me was a hot chocolate which was pretty standard. I also ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese. I thought they would spread it on for me, but they gave me 2 packs of cream cheese to spread it on myself. I guess that can help if you want to control the amount of cream cheese on your bagel. The cafe isn't too loud and service was friendly. My friend was raving about how this is her favorite coffee spot so I decided to give it a try! First impression was it was so cute inside! It was clean and the staff were very nice. They offered to help narrow a drink down for our liking on the menu and if we didn't like it, she'd make me a different drink. I went with the Red Lavender! The drinks come with a Turkish Delight of your choosing which is like a powered jelly square treat! I went with the Tart Raspberry. It tasted like a sour patch kid candy! It was an interesting touch!
