For under $20 you can get a big plate of delicious grilled meat, rice, and salad. The beef kebab is very tender and juicy and does not have any chewy gristle unlike some other restaurants. I highly recommend it. They use high quality beef in it. The chicken kebab is fragrant with middle eastern spices like coriander and sumac and is a vibrant orange color. It had a nice light char too it, without drying out the meat. I believe the chicken breast has to be marinated in yogurt or something since it was very juicy and tender. And here's a tip If you're looking for an extra boost of flavor and texture to your meal, substitute your rice with the bulgur wheat pilaf. I have been to other Pannini Kabob Grill's after my parents introduced me. The food is delicious, primarily the chicken kabob meals. Yes, the price went up after covid but the servings are enough for 2 people. I went into this location since the Chino location closed and we're looking for catering. Joann was pleasant and helpful. Although they ran out of menus for to go orders/catering, she walked me through the online ordering process, patiently answering my questions. After leaving, I decided to place a to go order online so my husband could try the food before catering. The food did not disappoint. The chicken kabob is so tender and the vegetables delightfully tasty. I wish there was one closer to Chino Hills. Well, there was, but it was inside of a grocery store with a conglomerate of other food places, "Cravings". Nobody knew it was there and it eventually went out of business. Such a shame. Restaurant is pretty small with very few tables inside but there is an outdoor area with plenty of heaters. On a Friday night, inside seating was about 30-45 minutes so we opted in to being seated outside right away. Started with the hummus trio. The pepper hummus has an unexpected kick to it but all was still great. We ordered the Family Platter to share at the table and swapped one skewer with the Flat Iron Steak for an additional charge ($5,99). Will not be getting this again. It was very chewy and not tasty as expected. The rice and chicken were both pretty dry not much flavor to it and was pretty disappointed. The Caesar Salad was great but a lot of dressing. What makes this place great is you can tell the food is made with love. The kabob is savory and the the rice is cooked perfectly. Although I'm not a huge fan of salad, I even enjoyed their Mediterranean salad here. It's impressed how affordable the place is too. The average dish here is under $20, which is great. For my meal alone, I wasn't even able to finish it in one sitting. I ate half and had left overs for the next day, which really makes this a great value meal. I have never been to a kabob restaurant and the answer to that is, I don't know why. The servings are so generous and the food is so good. I feel like I was in the middle of the Middle East eating here. I ordered 2 skewers of the Beef Koobideh Kabobs and it came with basmati rice and a romaine avocado salad. Everything on that plate was so tasty. The restaurant is not very big inside but they have plenty of outdoor seating to accommodate guests. Our friends told us about this restaurant. We had to try it out. It is located in the South west corner of the Brea Plaza Shopping Center close to the movie theater. We dined here on a Sunday afternoon during their busy time. Restaurant was packed. There were a lot of takeout orders also while we were dining there. Popular place, it appears. We only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. Service provided by Joey (sp?) was fantastic. He directed us to our table, was clear in his communication, provided menus, explained the process of ordering, took our drink order and returned back with the drinks immediately. We ordered the following: Cappuccino for the Mrs. $3.99. Beef Koobideh Kabob (2 Skewers) with Salad and rice for Ian. $17.99. Chicken Pesto Panini with Lentils for me. $13.99 Total with tax was $38.76. Meat in both entrees was top notch. Chicken was moist, tender, and piping hot in the Panini. Beef Koobideh was a generous portion. Ground beef was well prepared. It was not bland. The plain rice and salad went well with the beef. Ian loved his meal! He even had this for dinner and lunch the following day. As I mentioned, generous portion! The only knock on the restaurant is how close the tables are to each other. After not dining out much during the pandemic, sitting so close to the adjacent tables, and being so close to the the very small walking path for staff to move around so frequently was not to the Mrs.'s liking. The only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars or me going more than once a month is because the servers don't come back often enough for ice tea drinkers ( we usually need 2 refills a meal ) and the manager is never on the floor doing table touches, the manager being present would take care of the slow service for sure ( former industry employee here ) The Mediterranean salad is perfect , always fresh and their salad dressing is addicting . Our venue requires a photo of every caterer's health department permit which, while an inconvenience, seemed simple enough to obtain from a restaurant as you figure such should be on display anyway. So I get there and was directed to the manager who said "We can't be allowing customers to take pictures here." I'm like uhh, where do you think all your Yelp photos come from? But she was unwavering and simply said she would pass along my info to their corporate office for them to contact me. They did not, until I reached out to corporate myself. The next day I get a reply stating "Copies of our Health Permit are not available for takeout orders. If you are having an event requiring this information you can reach out to our catering department at catering@paninikabobgrill.com. I've also copied our Area Director who can answer any questions." 1) From the get-go I specified my request was for catering an event, not a takeout order. Why would I have asked for their health permit if I was just ordering takeout? 2) After writing them 2 emails, I still received no reply from the Area Director. 3) I have since requested catering from a different restaurant, where the greeter kindly and immediately provided me a copy of their permit to take a picture of. I get it, but when you only have r 2 people taking orders for the entire restaurant, that is not acceptable. Not sure if management is trying to save money, but service was extremely slow. They brought my wife's soup out and my son and I waited about 10 minutes after to get ours. The people next to us sat down after us and got their food first. We ended up waiting about 25-30 minutes for our main entree and it didn't come out correct. My salad lacked dressing. I ordered a chicken pesto panini with lentil soup. My husband ordered the chicken kabob with rice and avocado salad. The panini was so amazing! I am still thinking about it. The lentil soup was okay, would get a salad next time. My husband loved everything he ordered and I sampled and agreed. The salad was light and crisp. A little slow but nothing to complain about. Moat importantly, and I apologize that I don't have the pictures is the food. I like my food to taste "clean," "fresh," and not reheated. Been waiting for this spot to open for quite some time as we grab dinner weekly next door at Pho Ha. We came out for dinner expecting possibly some opening day hiccups but they were already operating as a well oiled machine. We were promptly greeted and seated when we arrived about 5pm. Indoor or outdoor dining is available under a very nice covered patio. The service was excellent and our orders came out timely. My husband shared the two-beef kabob plate with our 7-year old while I shared the chicken pesto linguine with our 4-year old (who loves pesto pastas). Both dishes were excellent and portions were large enough to share with our foodie kids. Can't wait to come back to try so many of the other items including their wraps, paninis, and breakfast items. I would suggest taking their recommendations on the menu into account- for every section there is a restaurant recommended dish and this selection, in my experience, does seem to taste better than the other dishes. Chicken pesto panini is amazing with whole chunks of artichoke heart and generous spread of the delicious pesto. I do not recommend anything related to steak. For some reason the chicken shines at this restaurant but the beef dishes are dry and tougher (that is the steak dishes). Portions are generous! Was excited to hear there was a PKG opening up in our neighboring city since one of my best friend loves PKG. I'm not much of a fan of Mediterranean food. I find it to be ok. What I ordered ~ Beef Koobideh 2 skewers Kabob w basmati rice & Romaine Avocado Salad which was pretty plain. The dressing was somewhat of a light Italian vinaigrette but had no flavor whatsoever. The Beef Koobideh didn't have any flavor at all also. I guess that's what the tzatziki is for which I'm also not a fan of. The beef was soft is the only compliment I'd give it. I so wanted to love it. Maybe if I have known it was ground beef (was too distracted and didn't really read the menu description. Lol) I would've ordered the flat iron steak kabobs. That would've been more of my style of protein choice. My friend daughter ordered that, looks really good & tender. That'll be my choice next time here.
