Tried this place today for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The decor and ambiance of the restaurant is really nice and looks very clean. My husband got a combo Kebob plate and I got the spicy shrimp linguini, both with a side salad. Food tasted good, but could have done with a tad more flavor. Next time I will also get the salad dressing on the side as it was a bit much. Portions were a good size for the price. Staff were friendly. I would definitely go back again. read more

A must try! We had the salmon and chicken with spinach tortilla. One with chicken soup and the other with a Mediterranean salad as a side. Everything was tasty and the tortillas were nicely grilled. LOVED IT! Tried this place for the first time tonight and it was great! I came in after the gym, wanted to see how it was... saw mixed reviews, which seems normal for a place that just opened, but the food was great. Everyone was very nice and friendly. Two gentleman helped me, recommended some of their favorites, and the food I got to go came out super fast! Definitely 5 stars! Definitely will be back again.! Chicken Pesto Linguini was outstanding. All the food was delicious, though it took over 30 minutes (kabobs, panini sandwich and hummus trio). Front area was understaffed and not trained properly. There needs to be a greeter at the front door. Male trainer attending Josclyn's tables while on break was friendly and followed-up on quality of our entrees. Bus people and servers should make trips worthwhile by removing plates when finished. There was no flow or organization. Good to see an expeditor working the kitchen window. He was on it because our food was hot and presentation outstanding. We will return and hope the staff learns efficiency (they were patient and kind). read more

We've been waiting for a year for this place to open because we've always enjoyed several of their other locations. We were very happy with the flavor of our food ( chicken kebab plate and appetizer platter) and amount but the management better work on their service. Yes we know it's only been 1 week so we took that into consideration. There was no hostess and we waited about 10 minutes to be seated. Then 1 of 2 servers ( they definitely needed more servers) took our order. It took about 15 minutes before she came to our table. She was not very friendly and we never saw her again till we asked for to go containers. Many tables either needed to be bussed or wiped down. The bathroom was also out of toilet paper. Hopefully in time the employees will be better trained and they'll get more help. It wasn't that busy which was lucky for them. We will go back but will give them time to improve. read more

We have eaten here twice now and we really like it. I love that there's two different patio areas to chose from so you don't feel crowded, the place is extremely clean, the food came out fast, and my favorite part is that they have some diversity on the menu. The pastas are just as good as the Mediterranean plates. The chicken kabob has been perfect both times I've had it and I love that the food is not just good but healthy. Food was very good and comparable to other Panini Kabob Grills in San Diego but the service was ABYSMAL! Our waitress got our order wrong and when we sent it back she came back and told us this is exactly what we ordered, when it clearly wasn't. Whenever we needed service we would need to raise our hands and to get somebody's attention. They never came to refill our drinks. We asked for the bill 4 times before it came. We sat down around 6 PM for dinner on a Sunday and didn't leave until ~8:30PM and it wasn't even that busy. Skip the Escondido location and visit the one in UTC or Del Mar instead. Came here with my fiancee and her parents for her mother's birthday. Panini Kabob Grill in Del Mar is a favorite of the birthday girls, so this was an obvious choice. Unfortunately, this location offered a pitiful experience. After putting in our order, we did not receive our food for nearly an hour. Noone came by to check on us or refill our waters and we constantly had to flag down staff members for any attention whatsoever. Our main waitress, to her credit, appeared to be working alone for most of this time and did check into the kitchen on our behalf several times. This review is not in any way aimed at her. After 45 minutes of waiting, our birthday girl had had enough and asked the manager if the order had been forgotten about. The manager seemed unsympathetic and simply said theyre doing what they can. 15 minutes later, the food finally came out and the birthday girls Chicken Kabob plate was completely cold as if it had been sitting. This was sent back to kitchen and a fresh plate was prepared almost instantly. My fiancee Falafel Wrap was also missing its sides which took an additional 15 minutes for us to receive after asking no less than 5 times. Food quality was otherwise fine, overall, with the Chicken Brie Panini, Lentil Soup, and Pasta Bolognese coming out at proper temperature. No apologies or attempt was made to compensate for the excessive waits or cold food at the end and the manager seemed to be specifically avoiding us every time he walked by. I realize this place has just opened, but if you want to be successful, please either make sure you have adequate kitchen/wait staff for your volume or be prepared to make things right with your customers. I very rarely give bad reviews, especially to newly opened businesses, but the lack of quality service and professionalism warrants a one star after souring what should have been a fun birthday celebration. My husband and I were excited to try the new Panini Kebab Grill for dinner last night that just opened up down the street from our house at the North county mall a few weeks ago. The location offers extensive outdoor and indoor seating which we really liked. Sam, our server, was delightful. We ordered the variety of hummus Tsatsiki falafel appetizer plate. I don't normally like hummus, but their roasted red pepper hummus was delicious. I also ate their strawberry and date salad, which was really good. I would definitely order that again. My husband had the pesto pasta which he said was delicious. Their menu is surprisingly extensive. We are so happy to have another great restaurant option in our hometown. read more

Really wanted to like this place, but we left saying that was a one and done place for us. We came on a rainy Sunday afternoon, and there was only a handful of customers inside. We ordered our food, and waited. I assume the wait was due to making my vegetarian meal, and that might have been the case because when our food came out my husband's chicken skewers were cold, sitting next to a plate of hot rice. Mind you, this was about 25-30 min after ordering and finally receiving our food. He informed the waitress, who then took his entire plate away vs just getting new skewers. So I sat at the table with my food, and my husband with nothing, for another 10-15 min. Why would you take the entire plate away when he could at least eat this rice and salad? When his food finally came back, I was done and he took a few bites and was ready to leave. The total was almost $80 for 2 people, with nothing fancy or special ordered. Not worth the price for the portion size of cold food and the lack of service. We will not be returning. read more

Between the hostess, the waitress and the busboy, I swear they have never worked in a restaurant before. The table next us also wasn't impressed, since they had to get up to get the waitress' attention. This place is needed in the area. It's a beautiful space and the food is good. There was one waitress for the entire restaurant on a Friday night. She did the best she could even at the prime dinner time. She let us know it would take awhile and she wasn't wrong but food was fresh and tasty.
