This was my sending time here for lunch. The ambiance is casual. There's a large parking lot but there's some construction at this time. I was still able to find parking. I got the flatbread wrap as a pita sandwich this time with chicken tika since it's what the guy behind the counter recommended. The pita was fluffy, slightly toasted, and flavorful. There's 4 sauces you can have with your meal but you don't really need it since there so much flavor to the pita (or plate if you order one). There's last time I was here, I ordered the flatbread tortilla wrap and that was delicious as well. It's much larger than the pita sandwich for $1 more. There is no bathroom here but I am told that you can go to Handel's to use theirs. I would removed 1/2 a star for that but the food is tasty enough to overlook it. There is a television on one side of the wall and 80s rock music playing in the background (great track if you ask me). They offer catering as well. read more

Kabob Shack (Eastlake Pkwy) location in Chula Vista, CA did not disappoint. We ordered the SHAH DELUXE BURGER with gyro meat and the CHICKEN Kabob plate with rice, salad and side order of lamb meat. Both orders were excellent 5/5 stars!! The meat in both plates had the right amount of salt & seasoned to perfection. The customer service was also excellent very friendly employees and the restaurant was very clean. I recommend trying both plates but that Shah cheeseburger burger with gyro meat was outstanding!! I was pleasantly surprised after trying Kabob Shack! The customer service was great, and I really appreciated how easy their online ordering system was to use. It was detailed, simple to navigate, and made pickup super convenient. I'll admit, I get nervous trying new places because food is so expensive these days -- I hate spending money and being disappointed. I usually stick to my same go-to takeout spots, but my husband convinced me to give this place a try. I'm so glad we did! I ordered the gyro wrap with cucumbers, and it was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned for the price. I also loved that you can easily customize your order. The tzatziki was delicious -- not overly garlicky -- and they thoughtfully packed it on the side so the wrap didn't get soggy. We've done take out a couple of times, so I do like their food, but today was the first time I ate at site having a dinner date with my mom =). It is a small place with seating for about 15-20. You have an option of ordering at a kiosk or with the cashier. There was no line so the young man greeted us and after a few minutes of perusing the menu on my mom's behalf, we ordered. He was very friendly, clarifying a couple of questions we did have. It is fast-casual dining. Place your order and find a seat. If you're dining in, they do bring the food to you. My mom ordered the chicken kabob plate rice. Comes with rice, pita, and a side (she chose a salad). A grilled tomato was added. The portions are very generous. The side salad itself could be a meal if you add a protein to it. She liked the seasoning of the chicken and the fluffiness of the rice. I was drawn to a burger today and opted for the Shah Burger, a cheeseburger topped with gyro meat and the fixin's. The juiciness of the burger paired well with the thin slices of gyro. The only downfall was the bun could not hold up and things fell apart about halfway through. So there I was eating a burger with a fork and knife. The fries were crisp and super hot, seasoned with salt and paprika. They do "gyro fries" so I'm thinking next visit. A standout addition is their sauces which are self-serve. There is Garlic, Tzatziki, Mango Chili, and my super favorite is the the Sumac Chipotle. Great dipping with the fries or any protein. This place makes some terrific food. I had the Gryro Pita Sandwich with fries for lunch for only $10.50. The gyro sandwich came generously filled with tender and tasty gyro meat. The pita bread was well toasted on the hot griddle and the sandwich came with a delicious tzatziki sauce. The sauce is made in house. It also came with fresh lettuce and red onions. The French fries came well fried to a crisp texture and were very well seasoned with house zesty seasoning. Very good fries. The service was very good. The gents working the counter was not only very friendly but very efficient and helpful. They offer a good amount of inside seating and a few tables outside. I am so glad I took a chance on ordering from here! Food was made fresh and quick! And the service was either self ordering or someone was at the front cashier. The employee inside was friendly and willing to help me order if I didn't want to use the kiosk. I ordered the mini plate with chicken schwarma & rice with a side of tzatziki sauce. My Overall Grade: B+ This is a good place for scratching that itch for a Mediterranean dish; I wouldn't mind returning to try more of the items on their menu. For another mediterranean spot that I think you should also try see the end of this review. I ordered 3 items To-Go: a rice plate, gyro wrap, and Shah burger. Each plate looked tasty, was flavorful and hit the spot. I did not get to try the burger but I was told it was pretty good. The chicken plate with rice and side salad was for another relative and they thought the seasoning on the chicken was a little salty but that's based on her taste. The gyro wrap that I ate was yummy and very filling, but this one was a tad salty, so I wouldn't order it for someone with hypertension. There is a self-serve sauce station by the front door with 4 different sauces (the most important being tzaziki sauce) which you can take home in tiny, plastic containers. -END- As an alternative you can also try a place called Shawarma Guys, which I would give an overall grade: "A". First time here. Had the gyro plate with grilled veggies. Everything about it was flavorful. Well seasoned meat. I enjoyed the rice and salad. The garlic sauce was my favorite. The portions were substantial. Wish I had enough space in my tummy to eat it all in one sitting. That's how good it was. Came here after a workout after hearing great things from friends. We ordered the Beef Shah Fries and the Gyro Rice plate with a side of rice. It came out quickly and was delicious. The rice was buttery and soft, the meat was tender and the sauces were flavorful. We asked for more white sauce since the dispenser was out and the cashier handed up a full cup! My only note would be to have the gyro cut into bite size pieces since they were quite large. The resultant itself is a bit small but there's enough seats if you wanted to dine in! I was so excited to hear that SD Kabob Shack opened a second location! I was craving chicken kabob so I decided to check out the new location. I went on the second day that it was open and the service was fantastic. The owner was very friendly and energetic. You could tell he loves what he does and takes pride in the food that he serves. The place itself is clean and has unique artwork on the wall. I also like the surrounding area that the restaurant is located in. I ordered the chicken kabob plate (my usual) and it was so good! The chicken was very flavorful, tender and juicy. I love whatever marinade they use. The rice was fluffy and tasted good with the sauces they have. I enjoyed the salad, spicy grilled jalapeño and grilled tomato as well! The jalapeño definitely had a kick to it! I ordered Zataar fries on the side and I basically inhaled them. It tasted really good with the chipotle and spicy mango sauce that they have. While I was enjoying my food, since I was sitting at the table closest to the register counter, I overheard a few other customers ordering and I couldn't help but notice how nice the owner was! He gave a small plate of rice and chicken to a customer to try, he offered extra sauces to another customer, and he also gave my husband and I a couple pieces of filet kabob to try- it was SO good and I'll probably order that next time.
