The girls behind the counter are very friendly and helpful and will take their time to explain to you the different things they have to offer. I love the food and sandwiches here, they're always efficient whether you choose to have it delivered or pick up. However, I ended up paying $62 with a $10 seamless coupon code (would've been $72) for two Alyssa salads with grilled chicken, a Mezz wrap, and sweet potato fries. 18.99 a salad, and 12.99 for a wrap can't remember the cost of the fries. Regardless, it is a bit overpriced. I don't pay that much in Midtown Manhattan. Either the prices are jacked up online, because my dad got a panini the other day with chicken cutlet and eggplant and said it was 9.99. How that's that cheaper than a wrap, I have no clue. I am a huge fan of Pantano's in Hewlett, so I thought I would give the Plainview location a chance. I ordered the lunch special pasta, and added shrimp on top. Typically when I would do that in Hewlett, it was between $2-3 extra on top of the $9 lunch special price. Luca takes down my name, address and my phone number. I think nothing of it because a lot of places will leave that information on file for future ordering even if you are not getting your food delivered. I ordered the pasta with shrimp, and said I was going to pick it up. I get to the Pantano's to find out they had it delivered and he was already en route. I was 100% sure I said pick-up because I never have anything delivered to my job. He then goes on to tell me "Why else would I ask you for your address as he looked at me like I was stupid?" I then paid for my food which came up to $17.36. How on Earth did a lunch special that started of as $9 reach almost $20 in costs? I ask more about why is this shrimp costing me $8 more, in which he told me I ordered cajun shrimp which is expensive and it comes with 5. Shrimp and/or chicken was never that expensive at the other locations! I get back to my job to find my food there, and I look at the receipt which charged me a $2 delivery fee, and actually added $5 additional for the shrimp.This whole time in store, they convinced me the extra charges was all from the shrimp. So they KNEW they charged me a delivery charge, and had me believe it was because of the shrimp and still let me pay the entire costs, despite me using MY TIME and MY CAR to pick up the food that wasn't there? Not to mention my pasta was BLAND and the shrimp was not worth it all. The Hewlett location was much better. I don't understand how their pricing works, especially since a $2 delivery charge added is not displayed on the menu either, AND that ridiculously significant up charge to add meats to a dish. And at the very least, hold yourself accountable as a business if you misheard my order on the phone, and not try to charge me for delivery knowing I came to the store myself. NEVER EVER AGAIN. I will stick to Hewlett. read more

Cashier didn't know what she was doing, didn't seem like she knew the menu bc when I mentioned I wanted something off the secret menu she said we have no such thing.... so that didn't put a great start to the experience.. so after showing the places instagram of the secret menu she still was clueless... anyways my husband ordered the gabby wrap without bacon bites and I ordered the megan wrap (not worth the price) We waited 15 minutes, and our food came out and what did my husbands wrap have in it.. bacon after mentioning to the cashier my husband was highly allergic so that was aggravating. But most importantly the guy that brought out the food got mad at us, it's your coworkers fault (so unprofessional)!!!! I started eating, portion was ok but the pasta didn't have enough sauce making it dry and not appetizing to eat, my husbands food came out and he ate half the wrap and said it was ok, wouldnt come back again. I order delivery from this place about 4 times a week. Usually off of grubhub for the convenience of paying with PayPal but you can also order on their website or by phone. Grubhub charges a ton of fees you won't incur by just ordering on the phone - but that's your call. The prices overall are generally the same as anywhere, maybe a dollar higher in some cases, but it's because the food is all TOP quality and always fresh. I don't know how they do it, but their Heavenly French Toast is just that.. heavenly. I eat it 4 times a week and STILL haven't figured out how they make it. It's crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The syrup is not normal!!!! WHAT IS IN IT???? I don't know, but it's fantastic. I've never been inside so I can't remark on the decor but the people on the phone are very sweet - if secretive about their recipes - and delivery is always fairly quick. If you want good food prepared as if by magic - this is the place! UPDATE: well, it's months later and I'm still ordering from Pantanos every day I'm at work. The quality somehow continually improves. Just when you think it can't get better, it does! What I love about this place is their commitment to having the best quality ingredients. Just recently I called bc I thought they had mistakenly sent me a new type of bread for my toast and I wanted to find out what it was so I could order it properly next time, it was so delicious. Turns out, it's the same type of bread, only from a new distributer. They saw that the quality of bread they were getting was declining and instead of ignoring it, they went out and searched for a different company with a superior quality. And obviously they made a good choice if I'm calling to inquire about TOAST!!! The final bit that to me is actually the MOST important as a delivery customer is that they pay attention to the notes on the order. So often, ordering online through third party websites such as grubhub, the website allows for special instructions to be written in, but sadly, restaurants just don't pay any attention to it. "No ketchup-salt and pepper- light on the sauce- please don't cut the toast bc I love to fold it in half with my egg inside" just little things that make your meal perfect for you, and time and time again these places get it wrong. Pantanos reads and executes special instructions to a "T" and for delivery orders, its very important. This is my FAVORITE restaurant. I've only ordered like a basic b here, so I can't go too deep with this review, however I can definitely say that Pantano's is a step above the average LI deli. Namely because it's modern and clean inside, has seating with a TV (that's not stuck on News12) and online ordering. While I know I can get a BEC or turkey 'wich anywhere around the block, I come here more often than not for the all day breakfast. Why waste time and head over to a diner when you can get a pretty nice platter here on the double for under $10. Check my pics, but I typically get egg whites, some greens and sub potatoes for some lettuce and tomato (yes, I know, don't even say it). It's a sizable portion and perfect for anyone that eats breakfast at 2-3pm like yours truly. Beyond that, I've had a few simple wraps and pre-made salads and all have been perfectly adequate.
