Pantera's Pizza in O'Fallon Missouri is one of my favorite Friday night, pizza/beer destinations! I have loved Pantera's since I was a kid and there was one in High Ridge, MO. (RIP) The pizza is always right, the cheese is tasty and delicious and the sauce is deep red, thick and perfect. I always get their regular crust but I would like to try the other crusts someday...it's just that I have to travel about 18 miles to get there and I tend to want to stick with what I love. Some of the things that make this Pantera's special: *good price on pitchers - and the beer is always cold!!! It's also served in a chilled glass pitcher with chilled glasses...and they're always clean! Yay! * Really great sauce * Delicious olives * A manager who has gotten to know us over the years (which doesn't happen too often anymore) and always makes sure he chats with us a bit. How nice! Let me start by saying wow was this pizza great. Love the taste and everything about it as a pizza. That being said you can never go home. In 1986 I delivered pizza for Pantera's pizza it was the best thick crust pizza ever made. This pizza only fails the original at the crust. I do miss that half inch plus thick crust piled with toppings. The people were great and the pizza awesome. But the crust ran away with my last star. I wish they would take better precautions during Covid. When I walked in to pick up my order I noticed none of the kitchen had mask on and the tables and condiments were not cleaned or disinfected when people got up after eating. The bus girl swiped the crumbs off the table, touched all of the food plates and glasses and then walked behind the counter and handed out an order without any hand washing or sanitizer. I just think that they would want to do all they can and it was clearly obvious they had made no changes to protocol at all. read more

The pizza here is fantastic. The dough is thick enough to have a little bit of fluff to it, and has just a subtle sweetness to it. I like to order extra sauce, because it's typically pretty light. There is a generous amount of cheese added. Pepperonis are coated in spices that really complete the savory flavor of the pizza. I also like to order my pizza with green pepper and tomato (which unfortunately is sliced, rather than diced). Food is served fairly quickly. read more

I have not been to a Pantera's in over fifteen years. I stopped in with some friends to see how things were going in the world of local pizza. I walked in, met some friendly staff, and ordered two large pizzas. I had "The Hog" and "The Combo". Both were delicious, but "The Hog" was just wonderful. It was a three meat, two cheese, thick crust victory of pizza. It came quick and hot, and I ate until I was uncomfortable. They have a pizza lunch buffet from 11:00am until 1:30pm. Went to call in a delivery order 9/6/17 6:30pm and they only accept checks or cash for delivery? Seems kind of odd for this day in age. I would think taking a payment over the phone would be easier for businesses. Drivers won't lose checks and don't have cash on them, which I think is safer for them. Just me speaking out loud. I have loved Pantera's pizza since the 80's. It is still my favorite pizza in town. The original crust is thick but it is soft and crunchy at the same time. Their pizza sauce has a tiny little bite to it but it just makes you want to go back for more. My personal favorite is the pork sausage with extra cheese. But every pizza I have had there is great. The thin crust is also very good. One of the greatest things they have is a half baked pizza. As a kid, my mom would go and get a few of them, keep them in the freezer and we always had a favorite on hand. They have dine in, carry out and delivery available and if that isn't awesome enough, they have a lunch buffet available too. Perfect time to try a little bit of everything!! read more

I love the pizza here. It's always good. I've been eating here for as long as I can remember. It's one of the staples in O'Fallon. It's also one of the last in the area. The place has had an update as far as colors goes but it's still a favorite of everyone. On snow days, you will find school administrators from all the schools in the area there. The staff is also very friendly too and easy to talk to. They can be helpful as well. My only down side is that even though they did the new paint job, it's not great and the place could stand to use a few more updates or repairs. read more

This time Stacey was in a really nostalgic mood, so we went crazy and ordered from Imo's AND Pantera's (where she used to work in high school. One day I was sitting in the bathtub just getting my bath on and drinking my morning Diet Shasta and I said to my self "I said you deserve Pantera's!!" I quickly and urgently grabbed my phone off the sink and ordered 2 pepperoni and Canadian Bacon pizzas. Disappointing .....My wife and I came in on a Friday night about 8pm, The dinning area was about half full of dirty dishes which remained on the table our entire visit. As fro food we had what my wife described as the worst taco pizza she has ever had, and the "salad bar". (Lettuce and soggy fixings and dressing). Took the crew here after reading the Yelp reviews. I didn't grow up in the St. Louis area, and I am no fan of Imo's. That being said, I was intrigued by the nostalgic reviews. After going there, I get it. The place reminds me of a pizza place near where I grew up, many states away. The place is very kid friendly, but had a big screen with ESPN sports center on. Plus ( unlike Pizza Street), they serve beer. Me and DD#1 ordered "the Hunk" it was not exactly a Chicago style deep dish (it doesn't claim to be), but it was tasty and filling. I really do like their sauce, and toppings. The crust is just OK in my book, but I can see why others wax nostalgic for it if that is what they grew up with (certainly better than Imo's IMHO). The rest of the group ordered a thin crust. I had a slice, and it was much better than the "ketchup on a cracker" that Imo's passes as pizza. The counter staff was very friendly, and we had great service. Pitchers of beer were cheap (under $8). Total bill for 5 was $54.00 including two pizzas, salad bars, soft drinks and beers. Not too bad, and we all had a good time. If I lived closer, I would visit more often, or hit up the lunch buffet. Long live Pantera's! read more
