Stuffed chicken wings and pork egg rolls.
    Michelle W.

The food is absolutely delicious! The stuffed chicken wings are my favorite and will definitely be back for more!!! Highly recommend!!!

If you're looking for some legit Cambodian or Filipino food, this is the spot! The service was super quick--you just order at the counter, and they bring the food right to your table. The vibe is kinda cool too, since it's shared with another place that (I think) makes Italian pastries. I got this dish called salaw machu krueng--it's a traditional Cambodian soup I've been craving forever. The meat was insanely tender and just fell right off the bone!

Chicken adobo beef stick and angel wings

The service was amazing and the Food was even better!!! I ordered 3 different dishes and they all exceeded expectations! I will be coming back

One of the dishes he had suggested was the A-Mok Trei the curry fish dish I had on my last visit nice to know I selected well. What we had that was from the list on this visit was the Prohok Ktis: a sauce served with fresh vegetables usually made from prahok sach, minced pork, yellow kroeung, coconut cream, tamarind juice, palm sugar, pea eggplants and lime leaves. Ma-Chu Kreung: Lemongrass Beef Stew (combination of vegetables, beef, beef tripe & beef intestine) **think this may have been a favorite at the table though all the dishes were delicious! and the Angkor Chicken Wings crispy piping hot tossed in a flavorful sauce. Not on the list we ordered the Nom Banh Chok: Cambodia's beloved noodle dish. Rice noodle in coconut based fish curry, garnished with seasonal vegetables. We also tried beverages infer the Refreshers part of the menu. Passionfruit, Dragonfruit and Coconut Juice this one was also on the list. Was more than us to share we also had a small bowl of rice as the owner said it would go well with the Ktis and Ma-Chu Kreung. I am going to be thinking of the Ma-Chu Kreung for awhile. Excited to bring more friends....

I feel like there are so many similar types of food in the area, so having something like Angkor Wok is a breath of fresh air. I've had a number of things on their menu. My favorites are probably their hot pot options, the fish curry, and the chicken wings (or popcorn chicken). IMO as w most Asian restaurants, it's best to come here w a group so yall can do family style and get a taste of everything.

I am showing my age by saying the restaurant is VERY LOUD, and our table was in a very dark spot in the restaurant. Oddly, they didn't have enough table lamps for all the dark tables. Our server said they "ran out". How does that happen? I stalked a departing table to take their rechargeable lamp. Anyway, my expectations were likely too high going in, and I was annoyed before even ordering, turning on our cellphone light to read the menu. The food is pretty good, though not mind-blowing good like the reviews suggest, and we had one bad dish. They offer varied Khmer dishes beyond noodle varieties, which is a plus. Go if you are looking for variety, skip the fish, bring ear plugs, and hope you have a brighter table than ours. Parking is street only. 3 Stars for the food, minus 1 star for the restaurant environment (unrelated to staff) The Food: k'tiss dip with crudités, $18 - 4 Stars We chose the marrow stone blue oyster mushroom option - p'set. The mushrooms are sautéed in Khmer seasonings, fermented bean curd, and coconut milk. The veggies are mildly pickled. They paired surprisingly well and a unique dish to try. kroeung kumeraage, $15 - 4 Stars This dish has an option of fried chicken or fried mushrooms. We chose the chicken since we already had mushrooms. Kroeung is the Khmer seasoning. Our server said this dish and papaya salad are amongst the most popular. Since we have a veggie dish, we chose this over the papaya salad (which looks great, too). The chicken is lightly fried, not crispy outside, super tender, and paired well with the kroeung aioli. trei chmouy tuk tei omperi, $40 - 1 Star The menu says serves 2 but not really. The is a pan seared fish, make your own fish wrap. We did not know we ordered a DIY dish, which is ok in principle, just not good to be surprised. The menu doesn't say so; the server didn't mention it. Luckily, by this time of the meal, we have acquired the little table lamp, which enabled me to see the long fish bones that had not been removed. FIVE of them. The noodles are a pathetic overcooked limp pile. The best part is the turmeric sauce. Do not order this dish. Epilogue: I happened to walk by Sophon this past weekend. I was surprised to see a sign saying they are temporarily closed to resolve internal issues. (See photo) That is never a good reflection of management. There is now a GoFundMe for the unpaid staff who had to quit their jobs.

It's the kind of local restaurant that's easy to miss but definitely worth finding. The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food was fantastic! I absolutely love this place and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Southeast Asian cuisine. It was delicious and perfectly cooked with balanced and harmonious flavors waking up my tastebuds. That goes the same for the amazing flavors and generous portion-size of their Thom Khem dish which is Caramelized Pork Belly and Tamari-Cured Hard-boiled Egg Stewed with ginger, garlic, and warming spices. As if that's not enough, it is served along with a brussel hash brown, pickled fresno chili, atop jasmine rice. For the drinks my party ordered, I recommend the refreshing Tamarind Soda which instantly transported me to the famously humid tropical weather of Southeast Asia. The two shareable appetizers we ordered were perfect for 4 people and was a nice introduction to the main dishes we ordered. The Lao Beef Jerky and Nam Khao were tasty and delightful bites. Street parking available. The restaurant is clean with lovely decor, indoor and patio seating. It has a warm and welcoming ambiance. Their pricing is not exactly budget-friendly, but with the generous portions, quality ingredients, and friendly service I think their pricing is just right.

Kinda funny though because it doesn't immediately feel like southeast Asian? Maybe a mix of western and Asian Service is a littttle slow, but the food and everything came out fast. I ordered the lemongrass limeade soda, the Lao burger, and mango sticky rice. The soda was super refreshing, and wasn't too sweet. The Lao burger was super yummy and juicy. I liked the sauce and veggies, but I wish they had added more. The patties were also a tad too salty in some spots. I also tried the Lao sausage entree which comes with rice and sides of veggies. The sausage and sauce were really flavorful, but the veggies didn't really pair well with it. The menu also says you get a choice of rice and sauce, but the server never asked what we wanted. Mango sticky rice was pretty good. I liked that it came warm, but the coconut sauce was a bit too sweet for me. Overall, a pretty good spot! I'd definitely come back to try the other dishes. I'd also come early in the evening, because a line formed pretty quickly.

We stopped here for lunch, and I was a bit hesitant at first. We were seated and I was told they no longer serve their cocktails, which was disappointing. They still have beers, but that's about it. We started with ordering some appetizers: we ordered their pork bun baos and their pork spring rolls. Both were decent, but okay. It made me not have any expectations for what was about to come next. Their Meekong burger is a fusion burger, yet, it was completely authentic. Their meat patty has the texture and taste of nem nuong and they use the actual pickled vegetables from a banh mi sandwich. We have their pickled lettuce and daikon, amidst the banh mi mayonnaise sauce. It was absolutely a banh mi sandwich contained into a little American burger. Again, seldomly so I praise Vietnamese restaurants since I can get authentic food at my mom's house. Yet, this burger absolutely knocked my socks off. Delicious and amazing! A must try for visitors.

Fortunately I was in the SLU/South Queen Anne area, but I can totally seeing it being really difficult to find parking when it gets really busy during peak hours. The only parking options nearby are streetside parking with some paid lots - would recommend public transportation to get here to try the place out. Service was fast - this could also be attributed to going on a weekday, we were able to receive our food in about 8 - 10 minutes after ordering. Ambiance is cozy, feels like a casual dine in with lots of natural lighting and the decoration is charming. We got two items, which I'll review down below: Granny's Pork Belly Baos ($8): A tasty bun! The pork was tender and was nicely complemented by the slightly tart apples and floral plum sauce. The buns were light and fluffy and the green onion and cilantro provided a fresh herb taste. I think that $4 per bun is pretty standard price wise for two buns of this quality, and they service a pleasant appetizer. Village Bowl ($16): The Village Bowl is a vermicelli bowl that has all of the fixings - serves as a nice sampler into the types of meats that the restaurant has to offer. It was delicious! The meats were not too heavily salted, flavored well, and were cooked nicely. Portion-wise is decent and would maybe fill most people up. I think that maybe a little larger was would be perfect as I still left a little bit hungry after this bowl and an appetizer. I would say that Meekong Bar is pretty solid if you are looking for Vietnamese food in the SLU/upper belltown area. I think the thing that Meekong Bar has going for it is mostly the price, as other Vietnamese restaurants in the area charge much more ($4 - $6 more) for the same dishes. I would definitely come back to try the other options that this restaurant has to offer.
