I d love to know WTF is going on in the kitchen of this place. Dinner started with Horrible garlic rolls (see pic), followed by italian wedding soup that can only be described as a total disgrace (tasted like canned progresso). To be fair my Chicken parm & my friend's shrimp parm were halfway decent. Chicken picatta was very meh. Pasta in my penne ala vodka was overcooked but by that point I wasnt surprised. Note - 2 stars is slightly on the generous side given covid etc blah blah... plus their placemats shoulda warned me to run away right from the start, so I have to shoulder some blame here. read more

I've had food (mainly pizza) from Papa Giuseppe in the past and thought it was okay with better than average pizza. I want to like this casual restaurant as I often pass by it on my way home and prices are very reasonable, the staff is friendly and the informal dining room has a welcoming vibe. However on this visit for take-out, my food was just not edible. The low quality chicken was awful and seriously, food this bad should never be served. Never. I couldn't even cut the dry and tough chicken and I made the mistake of ordering two chicken dishes. The Chicken Alia Giuseppe was drowned in cheap oil yet still was dry and was so lousy that it had to be thrown out. I really want to like this place but the poor quality food is just too awful to consume. read more

I am never disappointed when I order or eat at Papa Giuseppe! The owners and staff are so friendly, the Service is very fast, and the food is yummy. The pizza is always just right, whether it's in house or delivery, always fresh. The sauce is delicious The crust is tasty and I sometimes order the meatballs or wings on the side. I typically have my wings well done and when I order they always get the order and the amount of crispiness on the wings just right. I have also ordered a couple chicken wraps in the past and they were notable as well. The ambience in the restaurant is comfortable and the bar is pretty cool. To go orders are super easy and I highly recommend communicating directly with the restaurant instead of going through Uber eats. Everybody needs a specific neighborhood pizza place that is their default. Papa Giuseppe is MY pizza place!! Also..... the cannolis are SOOO good!! read more

What an enjoyable and satisfying meal. This was true comfort food at its best. Service was friendly and efficient and the meal was great. I've seen complaints about the garlic rolls but can't understand that all. The bread was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and full of delicious garlic and olive oil. um.. the way they should be. Calamari was excellent. Lightly battered, not greasy and the calamari itself was very tender and not chewy in the slightest. I was impressed. I thought I'd not be able to eat anymore (a salad was included ..or soup) but as soon as my ziti arrived, my appetite started all over again. What a treat to have baked ziti plus eggplant that I love and plus meatballs (sliced up). It's a big dish so I'll be enjoying leftovers tomorrow. All the other people who were with me finished their dishes which says alot. Happy and full customers. We went early at 4pm and reserved an outside table that was ideal. We had dinner at Papa Giuseppe's last week and although the food was good, it left a bad taste in our mouths. We started with a nice salad for me and a bowl of pasta fagioli soup for my husband. We were served 5 rolls/knots (3 garlic and 2 plain) at that time as we requested "combo" on the choice. When our main dishes were served (shrimp parmigiana and spaghetti and chicken piccata and linguini) we asked for more rolls as we only had two left. Our waitress told us we could only have two more. WHAT?!?! When a restaurant gets cheap with dough, it's annoying. In a town where competition is great amongst so many great restaurants it's even more annoying. 1. The quality of the garlic rolls should be improved. Too much olive oil. We found that the oil was dripping off the rolls. 2. I was very disturbed by the plates being prematurely removed from the table. It made us feel pressured. Unless you see someone having difficulty managing their table with too many plates then the diners should not be disturbed. 3. The pizza was too runny. Although the crust was well done vegetables and the oils used were too runny in fluids. 4. Lastly, a waiter or waitress should not put their arms over the table when removing a plate. Popped in here on a very busy Saturday evening and enjoyed a deliciously satisfying meal. The host was able to make room for the two of us (he was great) even though he had reservations on all the tables. Our waitress was lovely and prompt. The garlic rolls were awesome! We enjoyed the pasta fagioli soup and small garden salad, followed by our entrees of eggplant and chicken piccata. Perfectly delightful experience!!! I read good reviews about Papa Giuseppe and I finally visited. Good decision I made . This will be the only pizzeria that I will be eating pizza for now on. We cannot find another local pizzeria that will make 1 white and 1 red sauce pizza personal pan pizza. Thin crust delicious pizza. The entire family (minus the fabulous Kelly) works here together and are all the most accommodating, customer focused people I have ever encountered in a small, local business. I first called and spoke with Bruno a few weeks prior to having my mother's 75th birthday luncheon here....he about offered me the world! We had a group of approximately 45 planned to come and they gave us more than 1/2 the restaurant. We set up a multi-course lunch for everyone which included a few pizzas to share among the crowd, a bunch of mozzarella sticks for each table, soup or salad, a choice of 8 different lunch entrees, dessert, garlic rolls and coffee/soda for a very reasonable rate. I met Tony the day of the party. Both just very nice Italian boys! They even allowed us to hire in entertainment, which everyone loved having! The mozzarella sticks were very good, the pizza was good, the meatballs were very, very good, the salad was crisp and fresh, the desserts were homemade and good. The pasta was a bit overdone. Seemed that most of the pasta dishes people had were overdone. But all in all, the meal was quite good. The place is small, makes it more intimate. The booths and walls need some updating. My favorite thing in the entire place from a decor standpoint was the wine barrel outside - Santa Alicia wine barrel. I must find one of those! The main dish was delicious and hearty, I loved the soup (it came out nice and hot) and the garlic rolls were delectable, the wine paired wonderfully with the meal. The staff is warm and welcoming, and the (I presume) owner/chef even greets the tables and comes around to help clean up. I ordered the manicotti lunch special which comes with a drink, 2 garlic knots, and a salad. I also added a side of meatballs. Salad is a small, perfect sized lunch portions. The Italian dressing was delicious. Not too sweet or salty. The garlic knots, I could eat for days. My manicotti was freshly made and baked with cheese. The sauce here is perfect. The service leaves enough to be desired, although it may just have been our server, Lucy. She came to the table and seemed quite distracted while she took our order. She scanned the room because to look at us seemed inconvenient. We asked for bread and she asked, "how many"? I've never been asked that before! I mean, are we rationing? The lovely couple at the table next to us asked THEIR waitress for bread and they were not asked to specify a quantity. In fact they were given an ample portion of two per person at the table. They say their Garlic rolls are famous. I thought they were just fair. My wife ordered her favorite Chicken Parm, a large portion so she took 1/2 home. Amazing only $ 13.95. Good deal.
