I ordered to be delivered to a hotel. The front desk called me when the order had arrived but before I got downstairs, the driver gave my order to someone else. I attempted to call the store multiple times and no one answered. Not only did they give my order to the wrong person, but when that person returned the pizza to the front desk, they told me that the driver didn't deliver my soda. I had three things, it's not that hard. I even had left a good tip hoping it would motivate the driver to remember everything. read more

This was the worst service that I have ever received. The delivery driver didn't have any change and got extremely angry when we requested for him to get some. He snatched the pizza back from my Son and started yelling at him while I was on FaceTime. If my Son would have reacted to his anger the police would have came and my Son would've been the one to get arrested, or possibly beaten, or possibly killed just because of asking a delivery driver to get some change. I called the manager and the manager made him come back to get change and he redelivered the pizza and the pizza box was unsealed and messed with. I then called the manager again and they had to make me a whole new pizza and have it delivered by someone else. read more

Literally the worst place on the entire planet to get a pizza from. It took over 2 1/4 hrs to get a pizza that was ordered after 9, so it's not as if it was a typical dinner time. From the time the pizza was "out on delivery", it took over an hour to arrive. Since Arlington is the smallest county in the country and you can get from one side to the other in 20 min even if you hit every traffic light, one hour is absurd. We tried to call and cancel the order, but no one ever answers the phone, unless you count the 4 times someone picked up long enough to hang up again. Furthermore, there isn't a cancel option on the app, so I once it's paid for, you are stuck waiting, hoping, and hungry with zero recourse. To add insult to injury, when the driver arrived, he was a total jerk. He was unapologetic, and said "well, there are 300k people in Arlington, there nothing more we could have done". That's after a litany of excuses as to why papa Johns is a mess. My response "you could try an apology". I may have sympathy if any of the following happened. 1. The pizza arrived in less time than it would take me to get to New York and order one. 2. Anyone answered the phone at papa John's 3. They didn't hang up the phone to avoid dealing with customers 4. We were able to get a refund and order elsewhere 5. The driver was at least minimally friendly, sympathetic, or apologetic. Sometimes you are going to get a very bad pizza and question your life choices like why are you ordering Papa Johns. Full disclosure I have not ordered from here in quite awhile but contrary to most reviews they were pretty good on time management. I'd put in a call, wait ten minutes, then walk to the store and it would be ready. I think the biggest life hack you can use on this place is to select the 'extra cooked' option to ensure that the dough is cooked all the way through. As odd as it sounds, they're not really good about making a crispy or thoroughly cooked crust unless you ask for it. read more

I'm not a big pizza person but when I do order a pizza it's usually from Papa John's. The parks-about this location is they're pretty swift. They've always gotten my order right and never botched anything. However I usually do all my orders online and not over the phone. When I have ordered over the phone the sound background noise inside the place is chaotic so online seems to be easier. Plus when I've ordered online I usually get my pizza faster,within 20 minutes. I'm starting to think the delivery guys at Papa John's are masochists and enjoy waiting outside in bad weather. I've always given them very easy and clear instructions on using my call box however none of ever tried. To add insult to injury my call box is one of the more simpler ones in the area to. They simply wait outside for me to come down. This works out good great for my neighbors who get to check me out in a bathrobe and miss matched socks looking like a hot mess. But that's all good,I get a pizza out the deal and humility is good for the soul. At least now I know what the walk of shame feels like. I've been a Papa John's fan since 1991 and had it in more than four states, and the only time I've ever had problems is with this store, over the past year. Several times something was wrong - the completely wrong pizza once, usually something less critical such as no extra sauce or specific topping requested. The only thing that kept me coming back was 1) I like Papa Johns, 2) it was close and they delivered fast, and 3) the few times it was messed up badly enough that I called to complain they did the right thing and comped the next order. I'm done after the last time - someone clearly dropped it because the box was crushed and the toppings slid off the pizza into one corner of the box. The delivery driver seemed surprised when I pointed this out, told me to call the store, and rushed away, to deliver his next (probably) broken pizza. The store manager offered to replace the pizza or comp the next one, and I was hungry and didn't want to wait again, so I took the future comp and ate the deconstructed pizza with a fork. Today after being out of town for a week and needing a quick, easy meal I finally called in to collect the comped pizza...and they had no record of it. I won't buy from the Wilson store again, not even if I lived upstairs from it and they were giving them away half price. Worst service I've ever dealt with!!!!!! Yeah it's just papa johns: pizza tastes the same every location but the staff here is soo rude. Next time I will pay $30 extra for pizza at Pete's than deal with these people again. So we love the pepperchinos at my house, with an order of 4 large pies we order 2 sides of peppers thinking we would get a mini box full like the other locations gladly give....Nope! When paying for my order I politely remind the guy we ordered two sides of pepperchinos as shown in the receipt that he charged me for.. He looks at me and says ok.... (Ok wait for it.....) He walks back behind the counter and with a pair of tongs brings back ( I kid you not) two small peppers and opens one box and puts them in. Shocked. I politely mention again that I ordered two side orders not two single peppers.. He says "this is all we are allowed to give" ok what in the world??? Okay, I admit it; my roommate and I live not even 6 blocks from this location, yet order delivery from time to time due to sheer laziness (though I like to blame inclement weather). Someone needs to explain to me though why it takes an hour to deliver two soggy, cold pizzas to an apartment complex that amounts to barely a quarter mile away (not to mention the tacking on of an extra $2 delivery fee!) Don't fall for the coupons online either as a one-time thing, they're pretty much set deals that are always available. Yes, it's mass market, chain pizza, but if I order a specialty pizza, I shouldn't be able to count the # of toppings on a slice on one hand. If we're dropping $20+ on pizzas, they should at least be somewhat worth my while. Parking is also an abomination if you choose to come for pick-up, given the terrible location on the corner and the size of the lot. The pizza tastes like any other Papa John's, which is to say, delicious. However, these guys just can't seem to get the concept of a topping on half of the pizza. If I order "half pepperoni," that means I want pepperoni on half of the slices of pizza. Not "half the normal amount of pepperoni, scattered willy nilly around the pizza." And certainly not "pepperoni on half the pizza, but sliced in a way that bears no relation to the topping arrangement." As a vegetarian, I don't want pepperoni on my slices. But whenever my carnivorous husband and I order a pizza with half pepperoni, there ends up being pepperoni on the edges and/or "points" of a few of the non-pepperoni slices! I tried complaining the first time it happened, and they sent me a coupon for a free pizza or something, but it still happens EVERY time. I always end up having to cut off parts of the plain slices to give to him because they are covered with meat! So if I'm ordering from this Papa John's, I bascially have to resign myself to the fact that I'm going to get a maximum of 40% of the pizza that I can eat. What I loved: I loved that the bread did not overpower the flavor of the ample, gooey, melted cheese. I loved that the cheese made its way to the ends of the crust, so the crust was hardly more noticable than the center of the pizza. I loved that the pepperoni was spicy! Why I loved it: I loved that the two pizzas were enough to fully satisfy three hungry thirty-somethings on a quiet evening at home, full of laughter. I loved that the pizza was finger-licking good. The addition of garlic sauce to the box made one of our diners most happy. And the coupons that came with the box, for future orders, make for a great incentive to return to Papa John's. The pizza is much better than terrible places like Pizza Hut, without being fancy-pizza like Faccia Luna. This is your basic good delivery pizza. It's Papa John's. With chain pizza, you either like it or hate it, and this review won't change your mind about that. However, my order is always correct, always comes in under half an hour, and the drivers are always friendly. There isn't much more that you can expect out of a pizza chain. Despite the fact that my food was delivered hot and quickly, this store does NOT take care to read your delivery instructions and ensure a TOUCHLESS delivery. I just ordered from this location via their website, and I entered a comment noting not to ring or knock (as we have a dog and a sleeping baby). The driver rang the doorbell and the dog started barking. I advised the driver that I requested in the notes that he not knock or ring. He did not respond. Instead he proceeded to HAND me the pizzas and the two liter. Per standard COVID delivery best practices, the driver should have left the food on the doortstep to ensure a touchless delivery, however he did not. I called the store and spoke to the manager as I wanted him to know that his drivers are a) not heeding the directions requested by the customer on the order form and b) are not heeding touchless delivery practices. After explaining my experience to him I noted that it was cool and that we would continue to patron his store (so as not to end the rant on a bad note). His only response was "ok thanks". I did not call expecting any sort of discount or for the driver to get reemed out. I just wanted to know that Papa John's understood why I was going out of my way to provide this feedback and that the feedback was valued. Unfortunately that was too much to expect. I got a wrong order last month, and the delivery guy called on his cell phone to say he would come and give me the right order and take away the pizza he delivered to my house incorrectly. He then honked from the street and when he saw me through the window, motioned for me to come out to him. I live in a house and there was ample street parking for him to park and make the switch-out at my door. Today, when the driver rang the doorbell, I was washing dishes in the sink. I had to grab a towel to dry my hands, but did so immediately. As I was walking towards the door, he rang the doorbell and knocked simultaneously. It had only been about 30 seconds from the first ring. He then proceeded to grab the tip money out of my hand, I was so surprised that I ended up giving him 50% more money than I had intended because of his grab. My only good delivery experience was with a supervisor (I've seen him at the store before). So, although the food is what you expect from Papa John's, do not expect polite or even professional delivery service. read more
