Upon entering, we were instantly greeted. Everyone was super nice and you could feel their warmth radiating. This continued through the entire visit. Before we even knew what the food would be like, we already felt "this is it", validating our decision to eat here. Nelly (if I recall correctly), was our server and she was so kind and attentive! I ordered the LK Signature Pancake plate with macadamia nut and vegetarian breakfast sausage. My wife ordered the same plate, but with lilikoi drizzle on the pancakes and Portuguese sausage. For our side, we ordered garlic tots. WOW. The food was incredible. Tots were perfectly crispy. Pancakes were massive, moist, and fluffy with a generous slathering of cream sauce and macadamia nuts. Seriously, there was no part of the pancakes that wasn't covered. It was an incredible sight to behold and even more incredible to eat! The eggs and sausage were also cooked to perfection. Hat's off to chef Hoku! The icing on the [pan]cake was the ambiance. It had a great vibe and the decor was simple, modern, and welcoming. Overall, this was a great experience and we're so grateful to have stopped by. My wife and I had a great time and highly recommend Lilikoi Kitchen. This is the second one where wines by…read moreNeyers and Camino winery were selected, but also I had an opportunity to meet and talk with their winemaker, Tadeo Borchardt. Discussing his thoughts and insights on how he goes about making the wines and the selections for this dinner were enjoyable. Three courses, starting with Kona kampachi crudo, paired with a surprising light and fruity chardonnay. The wine was a very pleasant departure from the "heavy" chardonnays that I had expected, and it was a perfect accompaniment to this lighter dish. It's a wine that could (and should) be drank at anytime. The fish was, of course, fresh, and it wasn't overly dressed, so I could enjoy the natural flavor. The second course was a Kurobuta (known in Japan as the Wagyu of pork), pork loin that was roasted and served with an ume vinaigrette and a black garlic and mushroom jus. It was paired with a Carignan wine called, appropriately enough, Higgledy Piggledy. It had the rich flavors of a Zinfandel, but lighter and cleaner. Great all around drinking wine. The final course was the Australian Wagyu Picanha. The Picanha steak is a prized portion of meat, because there are only 2 cuts that you can get from the whole cow, to yield about 6-8 steaks total. It's a very flavorful and fairly tender cut, that's really good eating. This was of course, paired with a cabernet sauvignon, named 'En Foule'. It was very full bodied, with rich, deep flavors of cherry and earth; a perfect pairing for this steak and its preparation. There was no dessert included, so I ordered the pot du creme, with another glass of the Higgledy Piggledy, and a cup of coffee. A thoroughly enjoyable dinner, and I'm already looking forward to the next one.

(I then emailed Nico's back to cancel.) Goen had our table set and ready in an open-air spot that worked great for our party, which had a couple of young kids. Altho this was lunch, while everyone was still deciding, I ordered my same go-to dinner apps: burrata caprese salad (×2) and crispy brussel sprouts, plus the miso eggplant . For entree, I had the ahi tataki; first time and it was excellent. Other orders ranged from the Goen burger to chirashi don to misoyaki butterfish to green salad to hamachi to keiki bolognese pasta. Same deals with thr kapolei location you order and find your own table and put number so they can find you when your order is up. The parking can be challenging having maybe 10 -12 spots in their lot and some street parking . Their Menu is a bit more limited than their other location. The only thing that wasmt as good as their kapolei location was they didnt have the thin crispy salty cravable fries they only had small bags of chips available The food is always good and the service was real good. I usually order the chicken pesto sandwich, which is always a great choice, but today I decided to branch out and try the Beach Burger and the Margherita Pizza. Both were absolutely delicious and definitely worth ordering again. The atmosphere is one of my favorite parts. It has a relaxed, coastal vibe that makes you feel like you're dining at a beachfront café, even if you're not right on the sand. The super gyro has so much yummy meat in it that the pita can hardly hold them, and the zucchini fries were crispy and not oily. It also comes with a couple really good tzatziki sauces. My wife really enjoyed the avgolemono (lemon and chicken) soup and greek salad. She was so pleased with the combo that she had to order an extra takeout combo for her friend to try.
