Ordered about 35 pizzas for our school, for kindergarten and preschoolers. I gave them over 2 weeks notice, and paid/tipped the driver days in advance. After they were 45 minutes late to deliver our preschool order, I called this location. They kept me on hold for over 45 minutes! Only to tell me, they were busy and had not made my order yet. They eventually made the order and delivered the wrong amount of pizzas to us, and were short pizzas for the students. Keep this in mind friends when ordering large orders. I tried this place a couple of times, and always disappointed, the quality is very bad, and will get the order wrong most of the time. The veggie pizza I got had the green pepper tops in it ( yes the pointy thing that hangs from the plant) . Always forget the sesame seeds on the crust ( or they are stingy with it). The cheese pizza had a shifted cheese off ( half had double cheese and the other half had none it shifted) I saw it before I leave and they offered me another pizza. Papa Johns can be kind of "meh", it is what it is most days. However, yesterday, a divine intervention took place at the 4123 Shelbyville Road, Louisville, KY 40207 location. My coworker and I honestly planned on ordering Texas Roadhouse kid's meals, until we realized they didn't open until 3pm. On a Monday, God/Satan's toughest day for his/her soldiers... Rude. I mentioned I might grab the carry out special down the street to save some coins. As our morning progressed, I decided to just eat at home as I had perfectly fine food there. My previously mentioned coworker decided to pursue the pizza mission, upon arrival she was like, "this location is ghetto". In my humble opinion, this specific location has always been the best locally, and I told her to hold out hope. She arrived back at the office with the Za a little later, I went home to let my senior dogs potty and eat my humble soup. She texted me, and I quote, "dude its incredible. I'm convinced God himself had his hand in baking this pizza." Later in the day, I decided I needed a little treat, and I had a slice. Dear sweet Mary and Joesph she was not wrong, even cold this pizza slapped. Today, Tuesday, we confessed how we thought about our beloved slices after hours, and we looked forward to warming up some for lunch today. Not only did it slap equally as hard, but it also put me in a better mood to finally answer some of the more absurd emails in my inbox. Good pizza joint with friendly service and good staff. I would recommend this place to all. I usually get large two topping pizza with pepperoni and sausage. My family are always satisfied with this place and we will return. I do like the pizza at Papa John's I like the garlic butter that they give you with it to dip in it. I do wish that the guy that owns Papa John's and make better decisions and watch what he says but I can't hold the pizza joint because of what the owner says so I do like the food itself and I believe it is a good deal for the pizza you get I drank it number one out of the top 5 pizza chains that is predominantly all over the world. read more

This Papa Johns is fantastic. Honestly, I think team-cow (Chic-fil-a) has been surpassed. Papa Johns is #1 in customer service. I've been ordering from this store for years very regularly. This weekend they slipped up for the first time and delivered the wrong Pizza. But get this: Not only did they give us a credit for another Pizza, not only did the driver call me to personally apologize (I wasn't home when he came; my family was), but the general manager responded to my survey within hours with a personal email apologizing and offering his phone number if I wanted to discuss it further. Don't get me wrong, the family was going crazy while we waited a long time for a remake and redelivery, but good grief. Mistakes happen. They went above and beyond to make things right. This is a first class business. I'll continue to support this store with regular business. I would have done so without the amazing response from the driver and manager. This weekend turned a loyal customer into a fan and cheerleader. read more

Have been ordering Pizza here for a few months now and I haven't had a bad experience yet. They have an older gentleman that hates coming up the 3 flights of stairs which I understand but other than that their delivery drivers are great. I love their pizza but most of all I love their wings. Their wings are succulent and juicy and very very tasty. Dipped in ranch they are to die for. Their pizza is also great and for me I order them in two different varieties. Either a plain cheese pizza and maybe some sausages on top of it or a loaded pan pizza with chicken, bacon, sausages and ranch as the sauce (yes you heard that right, it's an option and being as I love ranch I have most definitely used that option). That combination has made for some tasty experiences that leave you wanting to go to the gym after to burn off all the calories. Their deserts are also great but I don't indulge much in sweets so I don't really have a favorite desert. I do love the new Papa Johns app experience, you can actually see where your driver is at all times so you know exactly when your pizza will arrive, the future is definitely here. I really like Papa John's. No, it's not craft artisan pizza, which obviously is better, but remember, it's not supposed to be and it's not trying to be. For the price, you get a good deal. I just paid $8 for a large 2 topping of my choice. That's a lot of food for $8, and I think Papa's is better than most pizza chains. The sauce has a unique flavor, and who can beat that garlic sauce?! Come on! read more

I ordered online and was delivered the wrong wings, the store manager personally called me and had me the correct wings delivered within a few minutes. They also provided me with a free 2 liter drink for the inconvenience. They're friendly, very fast and the food is always always hot and fresh. If I could put this team of papa johns at EVERY food establishment, I would! Lots of restaurants can learn from this amazing group of employees that care about their customers. This is absolutely my favorite pizza maker in Louisville. Papa John's makes it exactly the way you want and shows it to.you before handing it over to make sure they got it right. Also, for those of us in the older crowd they have an AARP member discount.
