Charming place. I've had my eye on this establishment for quite some time now. And I've finally had the opportunity to check it out in person for all the hype on social media. The first thing I will share is that it's a little pricey. Hard to match the value for what you're receiving. Now one can say you're paying for the ambience though I wasn't too excited that they sat us right by the hallway near the restrooms all the way in the back. I did mention that it was my first time there and that didn't seem to hit home with the hostess. We got the grilled chicken thighs which was fresh and delicious as well as the Llomo. Their over the top and talented staff create the best Peruvian cuisine you've ever had. Their attention to detail creates dishes that look too good to eat, but demand you clean the entire plate. So I have to say after seeing these reviews and stalking their IG for months, I am confused on if I ate at the same restaurant because we did not share the same experience by far. First and foremost, I love Peruvian food so I had high hopes for what Papa Llama seemed to offer by the pictures online but upon arrival I was surprised at the size of the restaurant and the menu size/options were especially shocking. The very limited menu (3 appetizers, 3 entrees) was disappointing. We also felt that the wait staff did not convey to us how SMALL these portions were. If they had said they resemble a more tapas style size then I believe we all would have been far more prepared to stay hungry after receiving all of our food. The amount that we paid for these itty bitty portions was absolutely shocking. The entrees were barely larger than the appetizers and our vegetables were not even fully cooked. I will say the flavor of the steak was decent but that is about it. The mandatory 20% gratuity was also a big WOW, seeing as how we waited so long for our food and our waitress took forever to check on us. If the wait staff had been more informative on portion size and let us know about the gratuity before us ordering I'm sure our experience would have been less upsetting. But with the raving reviews and their IG that is quite misleading - we just really left unsatisfied. It was like a flashback to leaving my ex's house. read more

This amazing Peruvian restaurant offers a variety of dishes especially crafted by its own chef, Kevin Ruiz who can been seen preparing the wonders they serve right in front of you. The food is fresh and tasty; you can add different types of sauces they make ranging from mild to hot. The different dishes were presented in a gourmet fashion at a perfect temperature. My favorite dish is Lomo Saltado, this meat is so tender and juicy and it is served with white rice and their own homemade fries. The Huanc Noodles and the Chaufa rice are amazing also! There are only a few tables in order to make your dining experience special and unique! The restaurant is so clean and very concerned about Covid 19 risks; for this you are supposed to wear your mask until the food is brought to your table. But you can also order to go! Could write a small book about how delicious this place is. I've been following Maria and Kevin for a while now, loved their papa rellenas at Tasty Tuesdays and so happy that they finally opened a restaurant. Everything they make is absolutely delicious and unique. My favorite thing in the world right now is their mushroom saltado and the huancaina noodz. Peruvian food is my favorite and we are so lucky to have Papa Llama in our city. Kudos for using compostable to-go containers as well, wish more businesses were as eco conscious as they are. read more

Has become one of my new favorites in Orlando. Not necessarily a huge fan of the natural wines ... yet. but the food is fantastic.

Papa Llama is a great new edition to the Curry Ford Restaurant and a welcomed enhancement to the area's dining options. I have tried their meals a few times during their curbside service soft-opening in the midst of the pandemic. Ordering is very easy using the Tock app and pick up has been smooth and quick each time. The staff is also very friendly. Dishes have held up well while I get them home to eat. Since we've ordered a few times already we have made it through almost their entire menu which is currently limited. I appreciate that they're focusing on perfecting a few dishes instead of having a bunch of mediocre dishes. I really enjoy the Lomo Saltado. The steak is perfectly tender and deliciously seasoned. Every bite of steak, veggies and fries is incredible. ⁣The Shroom Saltado is the only dish we have not tried but since it's substituting the steak for mushrooms I can assume it's a tasty option for vegetarians. ⁣ Ceviche is a lovely starter. I was a bit curious as to how take home ceviche would work but they got it figured out. Full of flavor and a nice tangy bite. ⁣ The Papa Rellena is one of my absolute favorites. I love the seasoning on the meat and the egg inside. The sauces that accompany it are awesome, I try to save a bit to use on my own! ⁣ The arroz con mariscos is a very close second to the Lomo Saltado on my favorites list. If you're a seafood fan or like Spanish Paella I would definitely recommend it, absolutely wonderful dish with a generous portion of seafood and perfectly cooked and seasoned rice. I can highly recommend Papa Llama. I anxiously await the day we can safely eat out to enjoy the meal fresh from the kitchen and look forward to watching their offerings expand! read more

We loved this place. While visiting Orlando we stumbled across Hunger St Tacos. It was really good food made my real people.... not a chain where the food comes in vats that they reheat. We asked Hunger St for a dinner rec and they said "Papa Llama". We are so glad they did! You might wonder if you found the right place when you pull up to a rather nondescript strip mall. But when you walk in the door and smell great food cooking, see the sleek but comfortable interior and hear the great music they are playing you'll know you found it. The server, one of the owners, knows her menu. She was able to discuss every wine and beer on the menu and make just the right recommendations. Same with the food. We had the avocado toast (you haven't had great avocado toast til you've had this one with a delicious chili paste), pork belly fried rice and the lomo. LOVED everything.
