Great pizza, great price. Tremendously better that your normal Pizza Hut/Domino's at a much better value. No "delivery charge" and no tax. Staff is all young kids, and are for the most part quick and professional. They are sometimes "kids" but then again that is why they are kids. Pizza is always very repeatably the same for me. Worst experience! We called in an order, basic 14" changed two things on the pizza. Went to go pick it up, paid, then found out that apparently the pizza had never been made. I guess their "systems went down." I would believe them if the person on the phone wasn't so moody. They had no way of making the customer happy after their mistake. From experience working in retail where customers place orders, if my company messed up or didn't make an order I would make it up to them by giving a great discount, so they will return. But this shop had no discount, no manager to talk to, nothing. BAD customer service. So I ordered it with garlic sauce, and no mushrooms. They made it wrong, they put red sauce and mushrooms. I am highly highly allergic to mushrooms, and I made it clear. As I was watching the woman make my second pizza I see her spread the red sauce on, so I told her again that I ordered garlic sauce and no mushrooms. Its like she wasn't understanding the order. It didn't help that she had major attitude. The 19 year old who rung me up was nicer than this woman. I would not recommend this location! read more

I can only speak for the gluten free pizza. When comparing gluten free pizza to places such as mountain Mikes or dominos this place definitely wins. For $14 I can get a slightly larger pizza than the other locations with almost as many toppings as I want. At the other locations you pay per topping and for $14 I get about 2. Not only are they the better deal that pizza taste great as well. The employees are very nice and won't even help me take my pizza to the car since I had my 3 month old with me. Great customer service and I will definitely be back. read more

I've been to many papa murphys. I went in to get a salad and they seem very light on the toppings compared to other stores. I didn't care and bought one anyway. Service was good and everything, 4 stars at this point. When i got it hope the lettuce was old and it was kinda wilted. I wont go back, there are better options nearby. read more

When they had $10 Tuesdays we basically made Papa Murphy's a weekly stop. Love the family size portion and the fact you can bake it when you get home makes it fresher than any delivery or pick up option. Crust isn't greasy which we love, and the De-Lite option gives it an extra lighter flavor. Overall great service and best deal I can find for when we have that pizza craving. read more

Used to be a big fan of Papa Murphy in Castro Valley. I went there all the time. But new owners put only half as much toppings as there used to be. I thought maybe it was just a fluke so I ordered again two weeks later and exactly the same. More like a cheap store bought. I will not eat another Papa Murphy's pizza because of this location. I purchased a pepperoni and olive pizza along with their gourmet veggie with white sauce. They both tasted really good, until two days later when myself and three other family members got food poisoning!!. (One of them being my 94 year old grandma!!)..We narrowed it down to it being the gourmet veggie pizza as the culprit since my little 4yr. old cousin did not get sick since he was the only one who didn't eat the veggie pizza. The store Manager claims they only use fresh ingredients and he hasn't had any other complaints, but i beg to differ. Either the veggies are not fresh like he claims, a particular ingredient was bad in the white sauce or the employee who made the pizza had dirty hands/gloves! Yes, they do use gloves, but when i walked into the store there wasn't anybody visible because they were all in the back!. And now i can kick myself in the ass for not paying closer attention to whether the employee (who made my pizza) already had his gloves on or put new ones on. So, a heads up for everyone, make sure you witness employees' putting on new/clean gloves before making your pizza!! Because i had to give at least one star, i will give it to the girl who i dealt with at the register for being nice and polite. read more

We had one mediocre one out of about 20 at the old location before they moved but we went online and complained and they made it right for us. Clean. Nice people. Been here hundreds of times, Jesus is always cheerful and helpful, never been hung up on, and I always call it in. If your order is wrong they make it right very fast. Prices are cheap and if you own an oven, or prefer a hobo fire, you can cook a pizza with minimal effort, great for those days when you are too tire to cook, and don't want take-out.The owner's son named J is always disinterested in his job, and rude to customers and coworkers. Don't eat here!!!!!!!!!! I had a pizza here 2 weeks ago and got diarrhea for a week. My roomate had the leftovers the next day and sure enough, the runs! Luckily his only lasted for 3 days! We found out the manager is Jesus and left him 2 messages regarding our incident but he never called back! I like the pizza from here, even though I have to bake it. It actually takes less time to go and pick it up and then to bake the pizza then to have a delivered pizza that is really not warm. Very helpful when I visit the staff and easy on the pocketbook. I like planning that I can pick up the pizza early in the day and it is ready to eat when I want it. read more

I really like the Papa Murphy's concept. I can order a pizza the way I want it, cook it the way I want it, and customize it at home. I've been to 4 or 5 different stores and I like this one best -- good thing since it is the closest one! :) Jesus and the crew always treat me right. In all the time I have been getting pizza here, they have only gotten it wrong once, and they immediately offered to fix it. I walked into the store and noticed a tension of the employees. As if they were not happy. The girl at the register had very good customer service and made sure without me leaving the register that i was satisfied and had everything I needed. The other girl who was hispanic was making pizza without any gloves. I asked her to put gloves on before she started my pizza, she replied with a snobby attitude, "yes sir". After me asking that I feel that she did not put the right amount of ingredients on my pizza, in my term I would call it skimped. The name tag read YaYa, i was very displeased with her actions and i will not be returning there. If you go to this place I do recommend that you not have her make your pizza. 3 stars for customer service, minus 2 stars for YaYa's pizza making skills. read more

This is my second subpar experience with this establishment. I paid for extra sauce, cheese and pepperoni because the pizza is usually dry. Though I was charged for the additional items I requested, I didn't notice any additional items on my pizza. The manager and employee were both too focused on the scale (they were weighing the pizza each time an item was added). I understand that they have to make a profit, but if I'm paying additional for the items they should at least make a marginal attempt to fulfill my order to satisfaction. I'm a business owner, I completely understand how it functions and the costs involved in operating an establishment. However, if the customer is willing to pay additional to have his or her order fulfilled to their specification, the customer is boss. When I commented that I had paid extra for the additional items and that I was willing to pay even more to have the order to my satisfaction the young lady rudely said, "This order has extra items." Fine...They lost my business! I'll pay more for a quality product at the pizza establishment on the hill. In my opinion, go to this place if all others are closed or there's no frozen pizza at the supermarket. In addition, the place doesn't like giving receipts. read more
