The pizza itself was a bit underwhelming as it was heavy on bread and had a good amount of cheese, but was quite light on the sauce and toppings. The breading on the traditional crust was almost a bit too thick for my liking, especially considering the uneven ratio of bread to cheese/sauce/toppings. The thin crust was a bit better on this with even a slightly crispy crust. Both were a bit light on any herbs and spices to give it a bit more flavor. We ordered delivery to eat while watching a college bowl football game after a recommendation from a friend. The delivery came warm and within the promised timeframe. Their claim to fame is being home to the "monster slice". The pan pizza slice is larger than your average slice. The pizza came but it was fairly normal pizza and not very memorable. The sauce was not very distinctive. The dough was very bready and took away from the toppings, which should be the star of the pizza. The restaurant misunderstood our order and only put toppings on half of the pizza. Having the "monster slice" is not enough to order there again, especially when other and better options are available closer to us. read more

I was charged twice on one order and the owner will not refund us. We've sent screen shots of bank statements, confirmations of the single order and have been back and forth with the owner who said he'd look into it. Many messages and over a month later, we've never received a refund. Completely unethical!! My family and our business have been loyal customers since we moved to the area 8 years ago. Hands down best customer service for a catering event! We ordered the Mac and cheese, wings, veggie pizza and cheese pizza. The food arrived hot and delicious!! My family and I have been loyal customers of Papa Ray's for the past 4 years. Tonight we ordered our standard...pepperoni on all and 1/2 sausage and mushroom. They delivered a sausage, mushroom, green pepper, and onion. That might be okay for most people but NOT for a family with young children who won't touch that. I called right away and they refused to fix it. Said they could deliver a pizza tomorrow or credit us. A pizza delivered tomorrow isn't going to feed my hungry kids tonight. I'm livid. My kids are upset. This was a special treat during a stressful time. Well Papa Ray's....you lost our family business. We won't be back. Ordering from here is a hit or miss. My last experience here was not the best. I placed an order over the phone and when I got there they had gotten my order wrong. I ordered through their website around 1:50am, shortly after the employee( a woman) called saying they couldn't put my order through because they were closing. The employee went on to say that i would have to call back tomorrow once the manager was in to issue a refund. I called the following morning was told to call back that evening I did. The person i assumed to be the manager went back and forth me because he didn't understand what i meant when i said my order was placed that i didn't receive any food because it was never cooked finally after abt 7-8min of explaining he looked up my transaction and said that they issued a refund and that it would take 7-10 business days. The pizza was a pan pizza, but the only difference between their Pan and deep dish is that one has sauce on top the other has a solid pound of cheese per slice on top. There was little to no sauce, the pepperoni cost 2.50 and there were maybe 3 pieces per slice. The jalapenos cost 2.50 and were left off of the pizza. The food was over priced for the quality and was nothing special compared to other pizza locations. If you want other food check them out, but for pizza make sure you go somewhere else. I literally wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to eat here. This is my first and absolute last time ordering from here. I placed an order on GrubHub and the food came relatively quickly. I ordered fries, a calzone, and cake. The ONLY positive about this place is they give you a ton of food for the price. The downside to that is the food is complete garbage. Soggy fries (and some were cold... how on earth does that even happen), no seasoning on the calzone, and the cake tasted like it was from a vending machine. Keep in mind I'm a college student so I'm not usually picky about places to eat but holy crap the food was awful. The BIGGEST TURN OFF about this place is the customer service. When my food was delivered the driver stacked all my food on my arm and then held his hand out. I was so confused so we spent a good 10 seconds just awkwardly staring at each other. I proceeded to tell him I ordered on grub hub. He told me he wasn't waiting for cash he was waiting for his tip.... UM WHAT!?? I told him I left a tip on grub hub and even attempted to show him the receipt on my phone but he showed me the paper receipt first which I will admit didn't show a tip. At that point I was thinking this creep doesn't deserve a tip (he was an older guy in his 40s probably so I assumed he needed the cash) but I tried to hand him the food back and told him I had some cash and I'd give him the tip but this arrogant SOB told me he doesn't need my tip, literally yelled at me about absolutely nothing (I promise you this is not an exaggeration), and rolled his eyes at like 5 times it was unreal. I ended up just muttering something admittedly rude under my breath and closed the door because I was getting so incredibly mad I couldn't deal. This is the first time in my entire life I actually had to call a restaurant to complain (this did NOTHING!). How dare you hold your hand out at me, yell at me, and try to come for my character. I leave tips NO MATTER WHAT. I have so many friends who work in restaurants I know it's in poor taste to not leave tips. The pizza here is remarkable and the wings are as good as I've had anywhere. Honestly, the crust on the pizza is delicious. I had a Monster slice the first time I visited and was blown away (did not expect that to be so damn good....and it's HUGE). After ordering a pizza and wings, once again super impressed. I will point out that previous experiences were good but we ordered in pizza from Papa Rays and had some issues with burnt pizza and wrong toppings. To add insult to injury the lady who I assumed was a manager tried to fix the problem and brought a new order but the pizza was still wrong. So good! The $5 lunch special (HUGE slice of pizza, FRESH fries and a drink), is not only a good deal, but delish! Plus, their fries are the perfect combo of crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, just perfect. Someone from the office picks up for us about once a week. It's a nice treat. Aside from the lunch special, they have a pretty good menu. I haven't tried everything, but I can say, there's nothing that I haven't really enjoyed. You won't be disappointed. If for some reason, you are, the staff is super friendly and will do everything in their power to fix it for you.
