One of my favorite breakfast places. We had a bit of a struggle this morning. Maybe she was new, but our waitress just was not on top of things. We had a screwup on my omelette and another guy had to come clarify what I wanted. I get the same omelette every time I go I'm not sure what the problem was this morning. We were never served water and we did not get our drinks until our food came. my sister ordered French toast and waited for the syrup, when she asked the waitress for the syrup, she said sure I'll be right back. The rest of us started eating and my sister sat there waiting for syrup for French toast. I finally got up and walked back into the restaurant and asked someone. Then the waitress brings us our bill and there's two of them. She tries to explain that they charged us wrong but here's the bill?? One was for $109 and one was for $52? I told her to please start over and bring me a receipt that had only my items on it. This took another 15 minutes. I love your food and will absolutely return. I think you need to polish up on your service. The most important thing about a restaurant is good food and consistency. I was super excited to try this really cute hole in the wall restaurant, however the food is definitely not worth the wait. We were there an hour and a half, waiting a half hour for drinks ( warm coke can & watered down lemonade ) , then an additional 45 or so for food. Words Matter - Gilroy is not known for being a food Mecca. I have eaten at several places and the food or service in these places ranges from bad to mediocre---nothing spectacular to yuck. It is almost as though every bad cook decided to open a restaurant in Gilroy. I did not expect anything different when I ate at Papas & Eggs. Never assume anything, never! To make the taste test as pure as possible I ordered what I believe to be one of the simplest dishes on the menu, a veggie omelette with an English muffin; no extra creams or meats to hinder the taste experience. The food was accompanied by a double shot latte. First, the meal was big, more than enough food to give any person the caloric go power they would need to carry them through the day. Second the veggies were fresh, no soggy frozen mush was served. The taste and crunchiness of the veggies coupled to the melted cheese was very good. The side of potatoes that accompanied the omelette were nicely roasted and simply delicious. Papas is not a fancy place and it doesn't aspire to be. It is clean with indoor and outdoor seating. Had a great experience - they have a patio and indoor seating. I can see this place becoming very popular and there could be a long wait. But we got seated within 5 min at 11:30am on a Sunday. Their mimosa flight was $35 and comes with 4 single-servings of mimosa glasses. Eggs Benedict with mushroom was delicious and they split the plate between my mom and me. Chiliquilles Torta was so good - good texture and their house spicy sauce is very spicy but good flavor if you like spicy. Great service and great brunch place. Recommend! read more

Service WAS HORRIBLE. I would give it zero if I could. The Waitress were trying to hurry me up and it was my first time. The waitress had a NASTY FACE and a table next to us sat down and got treated immediately. We waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order. Wow! New hidden gem in Gilroy for a cute breakfast spot. We came here on a Friday morning, it was a little busy inside so we opted to sit outside on the patio. Super cute decor. The staff were so attentive and super friendly! Really appreciated that. We both got the bottomless mimosas, they bring out a huge carafe with whichever juice you chose. I got the berry mix and my boyfriend got the mango. Both very yummy and fresh. My boyfriend got the chilaquiles with steak and eggs. It came with a side of beans as well. Really good flavor! They're not skimpy at all and the steak was cooked perfectly. I got the steak omelette, it came with some veggies inside it too. I put tabasco sauce on it and ooof it was delicious! I opted for a side of the roasted potatoes and it also came with toasted bread. Everything was wonderful! I would love to come back. It did end up being a little pricey for brunch, but we definitely got our money's worth! read more

First of all, I specifically ordered my dish with "VERY LIGHT, just a brush" of salsa, but no, my food was drowning in that gross spicy red thing. I tried to push it off of my food, but it had already soaked into the eggs and tortillas. I still wanted to be able to eat it. The first bite alone was already too spicy for my taste buds. The waitress offered to make me another one, with salsa on the side. I said, very clearly "no, thank you" and she still brought another one. I still wanted to like it, even though I told her NOT to bother trying to fix the order. I took a bite. Then I realized the reason why the cook drowns the dish in that GROSS thing: without the sauce, everything is so BLEND that I couldn't eat it. I had told her NOT to remake the dish, and she IGNORED ME only because she wanted to make the money on that detestable stuff. Instead of taking it OFF the bill - which wasn't cheap at $155.52 plus tip for only 6 people - she charged me the whole price. I didn't realize she had charged me for it until later, when it was too late to return for a refund. Pay good attention to your bill, and don't be fooled by a money-sucking waitress who purposely ignored my request just for a few extra bucks. Very DISAPPOINTING, to say the least. read more

I was really looking forward to dining here for months and finally got the chance to have lunch at Papas & Eggs. The restaurant decor is very chic and the place is clean. I especially like the outdoor seating & decorative pillows.Our waitress is very courteous. She had to take care of 5 tables by herself so it took her some time to take our order, which is understandable. The one star is for the salad. Yes.... You're probably laughing at me for ordering salad at a breakfast spot lol. Yes yes I know... it's my own damn fault! I ordered the Cajun Chicken salad that costs $16 + tax. The chicken is well seasoned. I got 7 thin pieces of grilled chicken. The tomatoes and artichokes were fresh. But the main ingredient, the greens in the salad, was old and wilted. The ends of the salad was pink. I got some leafy pieces that were moldy and wet. Yuck! I would never serve moldy lettuce/leafy greens to my worst enemy. But you're operating a restaurant, and charging $16 for a bowl of salad. Please have some pride when serving your food to customers. I really needed a new go-to lunch spot in Gilroy and get very excited when I see a new restaurant in town. I'm taking the time to write this review so you can improve on the quality of your salad. Yum yum... what a great find. Thanks, Yelpers! Ok... so we were in Gilroy to hit up the Outlet Mall for some sweet Nike sneaks for my lil boy last weekend. While there, we decided we were hungry and, being my carb day, I decided I wanted to carb out on some delicious breakfast brunch grub. After a quick Yelp search, I found Papas & Eggs wasn't far from the Premium Outlets so we headed over there. When we first arrived, we realized the parking is kinda tight. No worries, though, there are a few more spots in the back you can use. We walked inside and immediately noticed the super cute decor. Love it! It's bright and cheery and rustic at the same time. They had some sports on in the background and there's also patio seating, if you prefer. We were seated immediately and given menus to look through. Everything looked amazing and we joked about ordering one of everything. I'm not a big drinker but they had all the delicious brunch offerings like Mimosas, Sangrias, beer, wine, and even a Mimosa flight for those who want to taste it all. We opted for fresh lemonade and mocha but loved fresh juice options, too. After a moment, we decided to order steak and eggs and a pecan waffle with a side of eggs. Everything was amazing and cooked to perfection... especially the waffle which was light and fluffy, topped with cinnamon butter and pecans. I didn't even need syrup. The steak was surprisingly good and well seasoned, too. I'd definitely order both again. But maybe I'll order the fried burrito (aka breakfast chimichanga), French Toast, Nutella pancakes, eggs benedict with smoked salmon, omelet, huevos rancheros, or other yums next time. I'll roll the dice of deliciousness! Our server (and everyone) was chill and everything was great. We decided to make Papas & Eggs a new Outlet Shopping brunch tradition. If yall looking for a good breakfast restaurant, for sure try this place. Our waitress, I think it was Annie or Anny, was very kind which right away makes you feel at home. Seemed like everyone was eating the chilaquiles, so why not, that's what I ordered. Delicious! Ok people, you can taste the salsa is fresh! Not like other places who use canned salsa, they genuinely use fresh ingredients. I will be coming back to try the Birria Chilaquiles. April 2, 2024 I decided to give Papas &Eggs another try after a wisby washy experience. 1st time the food was awesome. even tho a little on the high price side for a burrito, I was so impressed I knew I would be back. 2nd time-- it was okay, not like the first time and the fruit was rotten. i waited awhile before I tried it again.. 3rd time it was just blah, no awesome flavor like the first time. this LAST TIME, the 4th time, I tried a different burrito with ham and eggs. can't mess that up, right? it was dripping in grease. I didn't order a fried burrito but it was literally dripping in grease. I couldn't even understand how that could happen.
