    Portobello Omelette
    Farhana M.

Dined in on a Thursday morning, not busy. I ordered a cafe de olla, added cream and this didnt need sugar at all since it has a strong cinnamon taste. Then i ordered a portobello omelette with hash browns and no toast to keep it gluten free. This dish was alright, The eggs didnt have seasoning so I doused my meal with salt and hotsauce

Got the Mole Chilaquiles with eggs Crab cake Benedict, French Toast and Tres Leches pancakes. The Mole Chilaquiles came with the usual fried tortilla chips, refried beans, cheese crumbles but generously covered with sweet mole sauce (chocolate and spices). Sooo gooood! It also had chicken but chicken was dry. I added over medium eggs (for extra charge) and this was a better protein pairing for this dish. The Crab Benedict was a crab patty and a had a slightly spicy sauce instead of usual Benedict hollandaise sauce. Good but not as special as the Mole Chilaquiles. Also came with potatoes which were pretty good and nicely seasoned. French Toast was good. They serve it with cinnamon butter and syrup. The Tres Leches pancake were good, too. Stack of 3 pancakes sitting in a generous pool of milk sauce with strawberry slices and whipped cream on top. Not much to note about the actual pancakes but they were soft. Lemonade is refillable for $5. Reasonable pricing. Food took about 15 min to come out. Very limited parking spaces. Be sure not to park in spaces with numbers as they are not for the restaurant.

Scrambled eggs, hash browns and pork planks, er, bacon.

The food was lackluster, the service mediocre and the establishment was freezing cold inside, even though I was wearing long pants, long sleeve shirt and a hoodie. I had bacon & eggs and subbed a pancake for the bread. The pancake was rubbery, but the cinnamon butter was tasty. The bacon was VERY crispy and had an odd taste/texture. I mean, I like crispy bacon (who doesn't?) but this was off-putting. My husband said he thought they deep fried it. I think Dennys would have been a better option.

Well, I have not tried this place before. But I don't know if I will try it again. The service was slow, even though there was only two other people who ordered 5-8 mins before us. They got their food but Ours came out late. The omelette was overcooked/dry. It wasn't fluffy. It was hard. For the price I think it's a little over the top, but that's just my opinion. Try it out for yourself.

This was a great place to hang out with my friends and our kiddos, super chill vibe. Service was great: food arrived quickly and our server was very nice. My younger kiddo had the kids breakfast plate and especially loved the maple butter on her pancake. The older kiddo had the Nutella French toast. I had planned to eat whatever they didn't eat since I had already eaten before coming here, but both of them destroyed their dishes they loved them so much there wasn't any left for me! The kids have asked to come back, so I'd say this was a success!

This restaurant was my little friend's pick, and overall it was a nice, easy stop. It's clean, the menu has something for everyone, and the service was genuinely great. The vibe itself is pretty simple -- nothing bad, just not very memorable. The food was good, and the mimosas were honestly the star. If I were nearby again, I might choose a spot with a little more atmosphere, but this one was perfectly fine for a casual outing.

    Green Salsa Chilaquiles
    Yuria G.

We ordered two different salsa chilaquiles online. Eggs and cheese is $6 so next time I think I'll just order plain eggs. The beans, though, were creamy and delicious! Both salsas on the chilaquiles were mild. There were so many interesting drinks on the menu--I want to visit in person next time!

    Huevos rancheros
    Montse S.

Very good! Excellent chilaquiles, salsa verde with chorizo were amazing. The beans tasted just like home and the fresh juice and chocolate Abuelita hit the spot. It did take a little bit to get the food but you have to understand we went on a Saturday morning at 11am. Be patient, the amazing team of people show how much they care and the good matches the ambiance, superb!

Ideally, I'd give this place a 2.5/5. Papas and Eggs in Mountain View offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant has a relaxed and chill vibe with plenty of sunlight blessing the indoor dining space. The place wasn't busy when I went there in the morning. Their portions are generous, but the dish I got felt imbalanced and lacked appeal. Please note that I got a to-go order. I tried their eggs benedict with salmon. The poached eggs were cooked well, with runny yolks, which is a must for any benedict. The salmon, on the other hand, smelled a bit fishy and wasn't particularly flavorful. The hollandaise sauce was a bit on the thin side and could have used a touch more tang. The potatoes that came on the side were seasoned well but not cooked completely. I wish they had given a side of fruits or something else instead of such a big portion of potatoes. They could have perhaps packaged the food differently such that the hollandaise sauce was kept separate from the English muffin. By the time I got back home, the muffin was already soggy.

The foods are good, a little pricey but we enjoyed it. My friend finished her food. I also finished my Benedict. Loved how my eggs were perfectly cook. I also like that there was parking.

    Bacon Breakfast Burritto
    Tawnia T.

Very cute place, enjoyed our Lavender Latte. My husband had the bacon burrito and they were able to fry it the way he likes it and my sister had the mushroom omelet. Portion sizes were very generous. They both said they enjoyed their order. My order was the Steak and Potatoes. The flavor was good but I will probably order something different next time. Server was awesome.

Ask the Community - Papas and Eggs

Do they still serve gluten-free pancakes or gluten-free waffles for both?

Do you still have bottomless mimosas?

Yes as of Sept 2024. $35, I think they were only good for 1 hour. Not sure who can drink 4 mimosas in one hour.

    Is there parking available?

There is a small parking lot on the side of the building.

    Are they dog friendly?

    Outdoor seating yes

Are there vegan options on the menu?

What I can remember is chilaquiles without eggs, and burritos without cheese. And mimosas, of course ;)

However, we parked in the lot and were able to get a seat right away. Despite having a stroller, nobody asked if we needed a booster seat/high chair, so I went to go get one myself... We ended up ordering two of the Joanie's Breakfast Medleys, mine with french toast and chicken apple sausage, and my wife's with pancakes and bacon. Although it was a decently sized plate, I guess I expected a bit more for over $25...the french toast was like two halves of one slice, but the chicken apple sausage and potatoes were good. Coffee was nice as well, and they kept coming by to refill, which was nice and needed. However disaster struck when one of the waiters knocked off a tray from a ledge right by our table. The tray crashed onto our table and spilled water, hot coffee, and creamer all over me, and our under two year old who started crying. I rushed over to check for burns from the coffee, but luckily it was okay. After the clean-up I was waiting to see if anyone might come by to ask if anything was needed, let me know if I could get more food since I wasn't entirely finished, or at least apologize and comp our meal. Unfortunately I didn't get any replacement food, and they brought the bill and mentioned that we didn't have to pay for coffee...$68 pre-tip was a little upsetting after our experience, even though I know accidents can happen... Of course, later on I smelled spoilt because of the creamer/milk that was still on my clothes after walking around the Farmer's Market...lovely...

Everything is above average in taste and execution. Brunch Tacos mole: chicken mole poblano, scrambled eggs, huitlacoche, tortillas, epazote crema, fried shallots & avocado. Perfect portioning and the salad that came with it had a fantastic dressing. I pulled some chicken out and gave it to my wife and then it was perfect, a bit too overstuff before. My wife loved this so much it made her question every time she didn't order it before. Fried egg sandwich: two over easy eggs on house baked brioche bun, chipotle aioli, avocado, bacon, cheddar cheese, fried shallot. Kids loved this and happily ate the leftover after. Iced Mexican Cafe: delicious iced coffee with a distinct Mexican taste. Distrito Verde: mezcal, basil, lemon, and falernum. Simple but refreshing brunch cocktail, really paired well with the mole tacos. Chips and salsa: These are not free but worth the price. Both the chips and the 2 salsa are of extremely good quality and preparation. Abnormally tasty and the kids went crazy eating it.
