I absolutely love the ambience here the decor and the food. We were a party of eight, so a bigger group, but they were able to make us a reservation same day on a Thursday evening at peak times. We started with drinks, my boyfriend got the paper mule i got the flower blossom. Both were delicious (although i felt like mine was mostly ice). We all ate Family style which is great we started with the salmon crispy rice starter. They were perfect, they serve the fish raw atop the crispy rice and not in a sort of mixed salad like some other places which don't allow the flavors and fish quality to shine. For sushi we were obsessed with the acevichado, so much so we ordered a second one. The sauce on top was also unique and yummy, not your typical spicy Mayo. We also had the misuna. Yummy but not our favorite. The fish is high quality here though and all the sushi is good. For starters we also had the PF bao (so good) and the edamame which was exactly how you want it to be. For entrees we loved the crispy truffle fried rice - we did one with beef one with shrimp. Both were so good and the perfect thing to offset everything we already had. Between the two, the beef was better. The short ribs were also amazing with the truffle edamame ravioli, it's one single ravioli beneath the short rib so not too much food and quite delicious, so tender and juicy. For dessert we we're sad because we wanted to try the Thai tea creme brûlée but they were out. We did the molten chocolate lava cake instead which was decent nothing special. Came here yesterday for dinner and drinks. The hostess staff were rude and snobby and unfortunately this carried on to our waitress - she was just not happy to be there and taking us all down with her. When asked if we ordered enough, her response was "we'll see". Cool thanks. The food was good and all came out in under 5 minutes. Slightly concerning but it was delicious. The drinks were also great. I had two wasabi martinis- could have been four but they apparently take a long time to make. As we were ordering desert, there was a cockroach crawling around the table directly beside us. No one came to clean the table right away and the little critter was having a field day. This was disgusting and made us want to leave right away. Note that tip is included regardless of party size. Probably the reason our waitress could care less about the experience. Paperfish is my favorite happy hour spot in Brickell! The service is amazing the waiters always have great cocktail recommendations and come around frequently to put in orders. The happy hour includes half priced cocktails and small plates. This places has my favorite crispy rice -- salmon crispy rice with truffle I just can't get enough of it. The inside of the restaurant is decorated beautifully with Japanese trees lining the middle of the restaurant. Unfortunately, it is best to make a reservation and since I did not, my partner and I sat at the patio. The patio was still very nice. If you like to take pictures, both inside and out are very pretty. The food was overall a solid 7/10. We had a few rolls of sushi, while some of the rolls were very unique, it was just fine. I tried Wagyu for the first time here, and it did not disappoint. It was probably the best menu item we tried. The fried rice was also just fine. Overall, it was an okay restaurant. The specialty rolls here are SO good and are must try!!!! The paper fish special was my favorite by far, and really was great. Their classic rolls were simple but great quality, and presentation was amazing as well. But, I think best and most unique flavors originated from the specialty items! The interior is beautiful! This place is has one of the best Happy Hours in Brickell!! We normally arrive during the week and have yet to have to wait for a table. The server was very friendly and attentive especially for being happy hour. First off, the Tiradito Apassionado had the perfect balance of acidity and sweetness to complement the salmon and the filo strips just set it off. Seriously, I could put that sauce on a sneaker. The Spicy Tuna roll was a classic, flavorful roll as the tuna was the star and had the rice was perfect texture. Lastly, the Pork and Shrimp Gyoza was was tender and the crust added the perfect crunch that was needed to balance out the plate. So happy we found this spot in Brickell for Happy Hour. P.S. Paper Fish has great sushi and they are open late for those late night fish dreams I have for sushi. All their maki rolls and nigiri/sashimi were delicious. Most importantly the fish was super fresh, great quality, and I liked the atmosphere. This is a nice place to bring your date or to just chill out and have some delicious food. I chose this place for my friends birthday dinner. The parking situation here is not the best, I would not recommend wearing heels or hard to walk in shoes. If you arrive early you could possibly park directly in front of the restaurant. Otherwise, you will have to park across the street in a garage. Also, when I was leaving I had to wait for a car to be moved that was blocking me in and I had to be guided out as it was very tight (I parked in front as I arrived at 5:45). We went on Saturday, the place was not super packed thankfully. I had reserved a private room about two months in advance by calling the restaurant and them sending over a form to hold my credit card. Unfortunately when I arrived I was told there was no private rooms at the restaurant. Why was I not told this when I called to inquire or when I gave them my credit info over email? I don't know. If I had known I would have chose a different restaurant as I had a cake and 9 guests. So unfortunately we had to make due with this surprise and we sat outside as it was far less loud than the inside. The positive is the manager was definitely trying to be as accommodating as possible as well as the waitress for our party. Other than that, the restaurant was great. The menu is pretty short as is normal for most Japanese style restaurants. The waitress was phenomenal, as were most of the employees. The sushi was good and came out quickly. The highlight of the restaurant was definitely the drinks. The drinks here are AMAZING. I would come just for the drinks. Overall still a positive experience at paperfish. read more

Go here for the experience and "ombiance", but not for the food. Great decoration, lively and full of hip people, and the food is very pretty and Instagram worthy. Great for a date as well. But the taste rating is like 3 out of 5. It's not terrible, but nothing really made me go "mmmmm", and for the price level I expect some "mmmmm". Nigiri pieces are very small, about half the size of what I would expect. But at least they have a full nigiri menu now. I highly recommend the toro roll, its something unique they have that I haven't seen anywhere else. And I'd go back just for this. First time at this place and it was a very good experience. They have a great happy hour every day until 7 Pm. I got a couple of things from their HH menu and the rest from their regular menu including a Otoro roll that was a feature dish. In general, food is very fresh, tasty and comes our surprisingly fast. Beware when ordering from here on ubereats! I ordered a roll, 2 different nigiri and a combo (which is $63, the order total was $100) making up most of the order. I did a pick up order and live pretty far so when i get home to eat after a long day when I check whats inside the combo is missing! I contacted ubereats but they were no help stating they couldn't do anything since it was a pick up order so I go ahead and contact paperfish hoping they would offer me a refund or at least be able to remake the combo for me but they completely disregard me and offered no help at all. They're appetizer portions so this isn't a ton of food we also ordered specialty items from their menu (please order the waygu sashimi with the raw egg I think it's like $10-$15 for ONE a piece but I don't regret a single penny) Everything was spectacular here, totally a place at the top of my list for quality sashimi & tartar that you don't need to dress up for! A month ago, I visited Paperfish for the very first time. We decided to have a date night with my boyfriend and booked a table at this place I've been hearing so much about since the moment they opened. I wasn't very convinced about this restaurant since I was afraid it might fall into the common Miami restaurant trap, becoming popular online but, in the end, not being that good. We decided to finally give it a try and went for an early dinner. We made a reservation at 6.15 pm, inside, and headed over there. The open table description said they only had a 5-minute grace which surprised me, so I was running late and called the restaurant to let them know. To my satisfaction, they informed me they had a 15-minute grace time which that's more common than the 5-minute I thought at the beginning. We parked on South Miami Avenue and 14th, and it was a little confusing to understand where the restaurant was. We asked the valet parking from a bar right at that corner, and they guided us to practice the back of the bar to find the famous steps with the orange bars. The hostess greeted us and told us to wait a minute while she checked for our table. A few minutes later, she walked us to our table, and our server came right away. Her name was Jocelyn, and she was super nice! She let us know that Happy Hour was still going until 7 pm, which was a nice surprise since we thought it was only at the bar. It was amazing that besides drinks, small bites were also included! We started with the Margarita and the mojito. The margarita was super good, but the mojito tasted like lemonade with no alcohol at all. We also got the edamame and the wagyu gyozas. The edamame was really good and fresh, and the gyozas were ok, although I found some small bones when normally gyozas have grounded meat. For the main entrees, we got the Veggie Roll, Acevichado Roll, and the crispy truffle fried rice. Both rolls were delicious and on point! And the fried rice was also so good and with a lot of flavor. For my last cocktail, I got the Flower Blossom, and it was refreshing with a little touch of sweetness. About the ambiance in the restaurant, it is pretty loud, so you will have to talk louder than usual, and a reservation is a must. read more
