Saw this place on Instagram and when my friend sent me the video as well, I knew I had to come check it out. I am a huge fan of birria so I know what I like and what I don't like. We ordered an OG Plate to try everything on the menu and we assumed it would be enough for two people. It was not but that was okay because we were able to go back and order the items we did like. I really liked the mulita and the quesataco. The consome was okay, I've had better. The beans and rice were a bit bland, I probably would not get that again. The jamaica could've been sweeter but my friend thought it was just perfect. The churros were delicious, you get two pieces with the topping of your choice. I would give this place another try. They could do better with controlling the amount of trash that piles up outside. We were unable to throw away our trash at the end because of how full the bin was. read more

I tried their Santa Ana location earlier this year and when I saw that this Norwalk location was open for business on my way home from Bellflower, I had to give it another shot because my first experience was nothing short of spectacular. Got their O.G. Plate with beef birria which comes with a taco, quesataco, mulita, quesadilla, and their consome. The consome came out piping hot and full of flavor. Everything else was amazing. Their salsa verde is alright but you have to add their salsa rojo to your tacos because it adds a delicious, spicy kick. Dip the tacos in the consome and it is chef's kiss. I have not tried their burrito yet but I probably never will because the plate hits the spot every single time. I also got a large Jamaica and although it was very refreshing, it is on the sweeter side and less tart. Service here was absolutely amazing. From ordering to getting our food taken to our table to checking up on us, the lady working yesterday (07/07/24) afternoon was amazing! I 100% recommend Papi Tacos & Churros. Although it is not my favorite establishment for birria tacos, it's easily in my top 3! read more

Okay this place is popular in its L.A. and Santa Ana OC. Welcome to Norwalk. I had a taste of the OG burrito. So I decided to get my own. Let this be understood they took the place from IM burger which failed so they have some work to do still. A review mentioned the floor. Well it look pretty clean and I'm not eating off the floor so I'm not worried.and no the kitchen wouldn't be like the floor??! Thats what the review compared. It has tape resin for covid social distance. Otherwise looks clean and even the benches outside looked good. It's not loud except the convention between customers. The young lady at the counter was very friendly and knowledable. I Orders the OG burrito and 2 churros Wait time in line and then the getting my food. It's new! People expect instant Mickey Ds time frame well you will need patients otherwise wait about a month maybe it will be shorter but I hope not. The busier the better. So while waiting I caught convo with a older man I was just finishing his food so I asked him how was the food he said it was great very flavorful and he said they give you a lot of meat. So I was over at the laundry mat across the way and broke into my burrito I got the Birria without sour cream. The young lady was cordial to tell me that the burrito contains sour cream. This is bomb ! Good amount of meat beans taste like from a pot of beans at home rice cooked well. With the sauce gives it the extra boost. The churros are good a lot of sugar and cinnamon even cold they taste really good. I'm definitely returning I want to try the chicken ans the OG plate next. Omar hit me up to fix my no ramen in my birria ramen order. Lets be real, their birria is way legit. Like no fat, all flavor. Bomb. But this wait time. Folkssss. Wow. Best tacos in the area imo. The flavor of the meat alone beats anything I've tried in Norwalk. The asada is grilled and has a nice smokey flavor. Prices are solid and the portion is pretty big! I'm torn on how many stars to give... I wish they allowed 3.5 Walked in today about 4:40pm and there was about 6 ppl making line to order... ONE cashier only taking orders which led me to wait close to 20 min to finally place my order. Food was good but not what I was expecting... Due to the hype in the reviews... I thought I was going to have a climax moment soon as the tacos touched my taste buds, buuuuut I was left with some disappointment. The carne asada is mesquite style... lacked a bit of flavor. I had my meal with an agua Fresca, Jamaica, and it had a distinct taste to it that I still pinpoint what it was. Maybe it had cinnamon? Either way it was okay. I got the O.G plate, Nutella churro and a mix of the Jamaica, Melon and Watermelon juice. It was all really good and the prices are reasonable. I got birria and it was well seasoned and juicy. I love the fact they give a sampler plate because that's something I always look for at restaurants but they rarely offer them. The juice was not too sweet which is perfect for me. I was really nervous about the sweetness. The churro was good but it's a churro lol, can't really mess that up. The service was great and the atmosphere was nice.
