We went to Ocean city and we decided to try and find some good or atleast decent Mexican food and honestly I should've known better. The atmosphere was ok. I don't understand why they played American music in a Mexican restaurant but whatever floats their boat. When we first got in there, this lady gave us the chips and salsa in a forceful way and i genuinely wish I was joking. It was aggressive to the point where the chips almost went flying out. But the guy that actually took our order was a nice guy. He was very sweet and just genuinely a really nice and approachable guy. I have absolutely nothing to complain about him. The drinks were questionable. I ordered some horchata and I'm not kidding that it literally looks like they just put milk and some cinnamon powder on top The food wasn't the best either. It was just really bland in my opinion. Overall, I wouldn't come back to this place and there's so many other restaurants in ocean city that are just better. I thought that since it 4 stars it would be really good but I was wrong for sure. I would give this place 1 star but the ONLY reason I'm giving it 2 is because of the guy that took our order. read more

Not understanding how this place got 4 stars. Birria tacos were more like Birria stew. Completely falling apart so dipping was impossible. Carne Asada tacos were cold. Meat was flavorless and chewy. Queso with Chorizo was the only positive. Service was awful. Never refilled drinks or asked if we wanted anything else. He walked by our table many times. Waited 15 minutes just to get the check and I had to waive him down. I'd say do better but I won't be back anyway. read more

By FAR the worst enchiladas we've ever been served. Pretty sure their "enchilada sauce" was actually pizza sauce and the beef was unseasoned and dry. It was completely inedible, had to buy another dinner at a different restaurant later. read more

The food was fresh and the service was awesome. Our server's name was Sara and she was so kind and helpful. I had the enchilada and the medium rosa sauce was spectacle with lots of fresh flavor. My wife had the fish tacos and she said he was one of the best she had ever had. The salsa they gave us with the chips was made with fresh ingredients and you could tell. Where do I start? Chips were some of the best hubs and I have had at a Mexican restaurant. The nachos (with gringo meat hehe) were out of this world!! We barely had room for our entrees and ended up taking most of it to-go but the bites we did try of the enchiladas and burrito bowl were killer. 100% recommend. Amazing food and great service. Great inexpensive place to grab your Mexican food fix! Service was excellent and the food was delicious. Great vibe with good music! Staff are friendly and welcoming. You can pick your choice of tacos and make your own or choose from the menu . Restaurant had a lot of wall art , sold tee shirts as well. Restaurant wasn't walking distance to where we stayed but it's easy just taking the bus and it's close to the boardwalk. Definitely recommend! read more

We had never been at Papi's before 7/22/25. We were greeted and served by Jessica. Jessica was very friendly and provided us with excellent service and recommendations. We enjoyed it so much that we came back on 7/23/25 for dinner. The food was excellent and the drinks were outstanding. We highly recommend Papi's and will plan to visit the Towson location in the future. If you go to the OCMD location ask for Jessica. She is fantastic!! read more

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food here! I got the street tacos and they were delicious!! They have great options for street tacos so you can customize them to your liking. The refried beans were not good though so I can't suggest them. The customer service was great as well! There was a singer/band playing which made it a nicer experience. read more

The staff was friendly and attentive and they had some really interesting cocktails. The Mexican street corn and queso with short rib were really good. I had the fajitas which was a huge portion and the best that I've ever had. I wish they offered it it's just chicken steak or shrimp. It looks like they only offer that as a combo. My friend has the burrito bowl and said it was awesome. Portion size was more than adequate. read more

Let's start with the positive. Unlike the other reviewers, the service was prompt and courteous; the food was brought out quickly. This is the only reason they got an extra star. Unfortunately, the food was extremely lacking. It's not so much the quality was bad, there were just no seasoning. Everything we ordered food wise needed salt: the guacamole, beef tongue tacos, fried cod tacos, the skirt steak taco, even the salsa that costed extra. The only thing that had any flavor was the free salsa. Everything just did not have any flavor or seasoning at all. I'm not sure if the chef was off today and someone else was in charge of the kitchen. I just don't see how this place has 4 stars. The waiter offered to bring the manager and they never came. My wife, son, and I all left there hungry but did not want to order any more food. Overall, it was just a very disappointing experience. read more

If I could give it a 0, I would. Swung in about 9pm on a Wednesday. Keep the day in mind. I had my 11 year old daughter with me and since we own a restaurant/bar, she likes to sit in the bar area. The hostess told me it wasn't a problem and we preceded to be sat at an 8 top (there were 2 others empty to each side of it and this was a Wednesday where there wasn't about to be heavy traffic swinging in anytime soon. I also stated that if you need to move us for a larger party, we're easy peasy.) The floppy moppy brown haired bartender was obviously annoyed that 1, this cupcake had to take a table and 2, that we were taking an 8 top. Needless to say, we were ignored for over 20 minutes without even someone stopping by to take our drink order. He walked to the back, got a drink from the soda machine , looped around the bar as if there was something to do, talked to coworkers who also were up to doing nothing and kept circling the bar until he found a couple of app plates to remove. We just drove from Chapel Hill and had an INCREDIBLE service experience at Sup Dogs and were just looking for a bite to eat after a really long drive. We left and just went back to the hotel as we were a little too tired to try elsewhere. Two other workers were on their MUCH earned smoke breaks as we left. More standing around and doing nothing. Would never, ever, ever go back. And I strongly suggest that anybody with kids stay far, far away from this place as they're CLEARLY looking for people that will ring up high checks. Little did they know that I would tip out 30% or more as I still own a restaurant and my check would be higher than that of a 4 top. Really poorly managed when you have children that represent your place like this. Nothing against the hostess. She was polite, friendly and was just trying to do her job, but the rest of the staff was shameful. read more

TLDR; would come back for breakfast, wouldnt come back for dinner. Flavors were underwhelming. If you want tacos go to Tinos Mexican Grill on 81st (just keep in mind their seating is very limited) Ordered esquites, steak and shrimp tacos, enchiladas and birria tacos/stew. Esquites were delicious and had a slight kick. The enchiladas were too spicy to eat. The tacos were ok but not worth coming back for alone. The birria tacos lacked flavor. If you want ketchup size cups of rice and beans that's $4 extra (they should really be included given how little food it is). Service was good but that will be hit or miss in OC over the summer as every waiter is a foreign exchange student just here for the summer. read more

All the wait staff and service was excellent. We went there once during the evening and once during the day. I would say when the sun went down was better because it wasn't as hot sitting outside. If you prefer to eat inside there were many options in the air conditioning too! If you wanted to buy a t-shirt they had some options for sale when you walked in! We really enjoyed both our visits and next time we are in Ocean City, will definitely go there again! read more

We completely mis-judged this place from the outside. Figured it was just another OC Taco joint, but we were hungry and decided to give it a shot. We were so wrong. We will be coming back to this place again. The sooner the better. The breakfast tacos were amazing. A little messy because they were loaded, but that is not a complaint. Cooked just right with lots of flavor. I put these breakfast tacos right up there with what you find in Austen, TX. Kellen was our waiter and he was excellent. Efficient, knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Available, but not intrusive. Our food came out hot and timely. Kellen checked in on us several times to make sure we had everything we needed. I like to try to stick with eating at local businesses while on vacation, hubby and I decided to try Papis for takeout tonight. The food was VERY good-way better than chipotle the only thing that dropped them to a 4 star was the fact that you do not get free chips and salsa when ordering takeout (you get the first round for free when you dine in) and they charge a mandatory 15% gratuity for to-go orders. I'm typically a very generous tipper but this charge almost made me not order from them at all tonight. The tipping culture has gotten out of control-I don't believe you should be required to tip on a to-go order that you picked up yourself at a restaurant. read more

We dined in with our 3 kids and it was absolutely delicious. Truly, one of our favorite meals this trip to OC. The street tacos were so good, the kids quesadillas were probably the best I've had and we come from growing up with authentic Mexican food. 10/10 recommend this spot, we LOVED it! read more

We were promptly seated and given a drink menu with many options. We were seated in an open air spot at a pub table. The menu is diverse with many options for different tastes. We ordered the fries to share as an appetizer. It was an insane portion of hand cut potatoes loaded with all of the toppings indicated on the menu. Three of us decided to split two pizzas and an order of wings for dinner, and the other ordered sandwich. The food came out, piping hot, and it was delicious. The prices are reasonable, and the parking is easily accessible. Do not go to OC without checking out this cool spot.

The only reason why I know what happened is because you can stand by the counter and watch and listen to them work. Don't get me wrong, if I'm craving a crepe in OCMD I'm headed to Crepe Daddy, but be prepared for a chaotic ordering experience if you go during breakfast.

We had a fantastic lunch at Papi's Taco Joint! Even on a busy Saturday, we were seated right away. The staff asked up front if we needed a vegan or gluten-free menu, which I really appreciated. The meal started with complimentary chips and salsa -- the chips came out hot, and the salsa was packed with flavor. We decided to try additional salsas and their mole (less than $1 each to sample), and it was absolutely worth it. The mole especially was rich and delicious. For mains, my partner ordered the Al Pastor Skillet from the brunch menu. He said it was flavorful, filling without being heavy, and the portion was big enough to split. I went with the vegan quesadilla and added veggies and guacamole -- it was hearty and delicious. I couldn't even finish it. The food, service, and atmosphere were all spot-on. What a find! We stumbled on Papi's Tacos and let me tell you, this place delivered on every level. We grabbed a to-go order and took it straight to the beach -- and it was perfect. We got the Gringo Tacos (beef on flour tortillas), the beef nachos, and shrimp quesadillas. Every single bite was on point. Our waiter was welcoming and polite. We ordered the Mexican street corn, the warm chips with the kitchen sink, their best-seller chicken wings, and 2 burgers. I must say, EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. This restaurant is so good that our last dinner was here. That night we ordered the Bonzai chicken wings (DELICIOUS), and chicken and steak tacos. We recommend this restaurant to the fullest.
