Papadeaux's is always the bomb and tonight was no different! The food was excellent and so was the service. Samy was our server and did a great job meeting all of our needs. One thing he did that gained so many points with me was to bring everyone at the table their own butter dish for the bread. As someone who often has bread with her butter, (yes that's right...I am a butter lover) that was so convenient. We had a Cesar Salad that was unbelievably fresh, the shrimp and grits...which I didn't care for with the brown sauce on top. I wish I had gotten it plain but it was still good, just a little spicy. We also had a fried catfish and shrimp combo, salmon with scallops, and a Greek salad. Every was wonderful! The wait was minimal for a Saturday night. This location used to be the best in the area. Not any more. While waiting for a table, decided to order drinks at the bar. I had to bus & clean the 1/2 occupied bar top to be able to have a place to sit and when the bartender came over, I was greeted with attitude. Then, proceeded to watch her argue with another customer about his order and then loudly and theatrically throw his drink in the trash. When our table was finally ready, was lucky enough to be seated to enjoy the waitstaff loudly fraternizing with what I presume an off-duty member of staff since she was running back and forth to the host stand, laughing and calling out for servers and generally acting like it was her living room. Incredibly innappropriate. I remember when Pappadeaux staff conducted themselves professionally. Another stop here last weekend 11/23/19. Parking lot was packed around 6:30 PM. More than likely with Christmas shoppers. We had a reservation for 8 however there was still about a 20 minute wait. We were finally seated and ordered a round of appetizers which came out fairly quick. Mix of fried and blackened gator, blue point oysters, calmari. All were good except the blackened gator which was waaaay too salty. There was a bit of a wait for our entrees. They threw some good soft fresh bread on table as we waited. Finally eh entrees made it and I had the stuffed rainbow trout on this visit. Two large fillets with wilted greens. Tasty dish I would order again. Stopped my this location for an after work drink. Turned into a debate with the bartender over "a single" or " a double" mixed drink. I asked if the "double" was 2 shots in the drink. She was confused. When pressed the bartender admitted the "double" was a little more than 2 ounces which is very misleading to the novice customer ordering a double thinking they would get 3 ounces of their favorite liquor in a drink. I expect busy nights on the weekends but the way they manage the place on the weekends it seems like a surprise to them every time. First things first the staff here are very friendly and attentive. I sat at the bar during happy hour and was well taken care of. My food and drinks arrived promptly and the bartenders were easy to get to. Thank you for good service! Now the drinks. I tried the new watermelon tangeaux aka watermelon margarita bomb dot com drank! Top it off with a watermelon slice and I'm all over it. Frozen and not too sweet but with plenty of alcohol so this will be my new go to drink. I used to get the pappadocious but this drink is fresh for the summer and tantalizes the taste buds. Admittedly the three stars are solely based on service and beverages. Now the reasons why they lost two stars. The food! I ordered a mini fondue and boiled shrimp. The mini fondue came with burned toast points covered in olive oil. The fondue was sloppily made, there was minimal cheese, way too many mushrooms and they were huge bits. I couldn't even eat the toast. The boiled shrimp were bland and this starts with the base used to boil them in. This pappadeaux missed the memo on seasoning the boil. They instead put seasoning salt on the actual shrimp. Major fail. Moral of the story is to come for the drinks. read more

First off this has always been a special occasion type place that I've brought friend or family to for special occasions. It never disappointed. This visit was the first time back post Covid and I see a big difference in the portions and cost of the food that we ordered. There was also the non existence of the French bread we USED to get pre meal and the hush puppies we used to get with the seafood meals. The service still ranks up there so not bashing that but the food was definitely a let down after all the previous meals we have eaten there. I hope they rethink this move! read more

In town for business and had mid-week dinner with co-workers. We were a group of about 12 people. Decor-wasn't too impressed with interior, but is was clean and that's important. Appetizers-oysters were very good. Calamari was also very good. Jambalaya was just OK, I have had better in the past. And tomato salad was very refreshing and delightful. Service-was only ok, had to remind waitress for water and lemons. Entree-salmon wasn't cooked all the way through, but was very tasty. Jumbo shrimp was very good. Very large portions! read more

If you love seafood, this is the place to be! I stopped in for dinner and an happy I did. I tried the Crispy Atlantic Salmon & Scallop for me entree. The salmon had a great sear on it and was perfectly tender on the inside. The spicy glaze added additional flavor. It only came with one scallop but it was delicious. It also had some lump crab in the dish, with made for a great seafood trifecta! But then they go over the top and toss in a few large shrimp. I could barely handle all the delicious seafood on my plate! I did order the Blue Point Oysters, but was disappointed. They didn't have much flavor at all. Aside from that, the meal was great. Came to this location to get the lobster bites because they were so good the first time I came And is $33 for this appetizer, When I received my food it was less meat from the first time I had came my waitress was very sweet to me and she got a manager for me to express my concern and he absolutely did nothing and basically brushed me off and did nothing and I mean absolutely nothing I'm really upset after ranting and raving how good this was just to be disappointed I hate this happened to me I will not be returning or telling anybody to come to this location. When I'm craving an awesome crab cake, Pappadeaux is the place to be. I've tried almost every restaurant around town and they do not come close to the yummiest Pappadeaux delivers. You must try it. Love the lemon caper sauce and the cake has more crab than breading. We enjoy sitting at the bar and enjoying their specials. The specials are smaller plates at a reasonable price. The Alligator our favorite. Love the spicy sauce to dip it in. The bartenders are awesome, friendly and helpful. Read some yelp reviews on the bread pudding so we decided to give it a try. I love Papadeaux but my dining experience last night was the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. First, it was apparent that they overbooked. If you do not have the tables to accommodate reservations and walk-ins tell people so that they can go on to another restaurant. So since they were overbooked, our reservation for 8 o'clock ended up with a seating at 8:40. The first of our meals arrived to our table at 10:30. Two hours later. We were told that the kitchen lost our orders, that they're trying really hard, and then finally it was just a mishmash of made up stories. We were told our meal was comped, yet they bring a check to the table for drinks, which were also provided 40 minutes after the order.I have never been so upset and disappointed in a restaurant experience in my life. Pappadeaux, you can do better than this. You were used to large crowd. Get this right. read more

We came here last night for a birthday dinner. It was my first time here and I was very impressed with the food and service. Beaux took care of us and was every bit the professional in courtesy, attentiveness, and friendliness. We started with an order of a dozen Blue Point oysters on the half shell. The oysters were cold and fresh. There were some good sized oysters in the batch, but also some super tiny ones. For the price they could have been mostly bigger rather than hardly bigger. But they were delicious and hit the spot. I had the seafood gumbo without the sausage added. More seafood is good. The price was a bit high for the size of the bowl, but the flavor was really good. There was some shell debris in the gumbo, which shouldn't have been there, but there it was. Just be careful before putting a big spoonful in your mouth! My better half had the Salmon Yvette and was over the moon with it. I had a taste and also liked it. Her portions were huge - the 7 oz order of this really is more than enough. I've been a fan of this place for years but I'm finally getting around to writing a recommendation. It's my favorite of all the Pappas places - it is consistently great! I've eaten here in several different locations, including airports, and it never ever disappoints. It's a little pricey but you definitely get what you pay for - there are plenty of options, the food is fantastic and portions are generous. Staff is almost always, not always, spot on. If I had to complain it would have to be about the lack of general friendliness of the hosting staff - that marker and easerboard must be a heavy burden to bare because they always seem either power hungry or absolutely miserable. Smile - you are young and you get to sniff markers on the job - why the sour faces? Anyway, great place to celebrate any occasion but even better on a regular basis - if you can afford it. Outstanding service and great food. Having driven by the restaurant a few times we decided to finally stop and have lunch. It was our first visit and we will definitely be back again. The food and the customer service were both amazing. Portions are much larger than we expected so while the price seems a bit high, you are definitely getting a good value for the money (compared to the competition). Our meals were well prepared, great balance of flavor and our server was outstanding. The manager even stopped by, thanking us for coming in and as it was our first visit, she offered us a desert on the house. It is so pleasing to see a restaurant focus on the customer experience, while maintaining high standards on the the quality of the food they deliver. Service was amazing, and my dish was delicious, but my husband ordered a $40 meal and he ordered the "jumbo" scallops and shrimp with Risotto. It came with 3 medium-ish sized scallops wrapped with shrimp on a bed of under seasoned risotto. Definitely not worth the money, we will not be back. My meal was the Snapper with lump crabmeat and it was delicious. We so ordered the crawfish pie appetizer and it was also amazing. $140-$150 for a meal, it's just not worth the money read more

Sometimes you just have to go for the standard chain variety restaurant that's a staple of the eating scene and Pappa's restaurants do the trick . A little pricey for a midweek jaunt but the food was on point and satisfied the craving. A HUGE bonus was our waiter, Andrew. He was a hoot and a great help with navigating the large menu . This is a place that I love to munch on a perfectly grilled or fried fish, their calamari, crab & spinach dip is worth craving for. The service is always great. They are following covid best practices. The complimentary bread and butter is always a good add-on. I love their seasonal halibut, salmon and catfish. The food was ok, but seemed overly expensive for the quality. The main issue is with the drinks which were poorly made and used cheap ingredients. For $14.50, I expect a damn good old fashioned. This one came with one of the cheap red cherries that you would get on bourbon street with a buy one get one drink. Additionally, the proportion of spirit to bitters to sugar to citrus was way off with bitters being the primary flavor. The last critique is a bit bit picky, but a cocktail of this cost should come with a solid block of ice and not the standard ice provided. This is my all time favorite seafood restaurant. The quality is the same no matter which one you go to. The crab cakes and lobster bisque are my favorites. The crab cakes are all crab with a nice crust with a buttery sauce with crawfish. My only grip is that the portion size has shrunk by 1/3 over the past few year, but I just get 2 and make that my dinner. Your meal is always accompanied with warm fresh bread that is crispy on the outside and soft inside. If you are into oysters, eat until your hearts content. That is what mom does, she makes a meal out of oysters. Since I have been a patron of this restaurant for as long as they have been open here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area the quality has always been 5*. The only negative thing I could say is that the noise level is pretty high so if you what to have a conversation ask to be seated in the corner. Enjoy! read more

We started with the Seafood Fondue which was really a bowl of cheese with crawfish in it. At least the bread was good. Then I ordered the seafood skewer dish from their lunch menu. The dirty rice had really good sausage in it, but my skewers were terrible. Only 3 of the shrimp even seemed seasoned or cooked well. The others were hard as rocks. They all also had the aftertaste or freezer burn.. I paid $30 for an icky lunch item and a less desirable starter so that was pretty disappointing. However, at least the atmosphere was nice. Consistently good and high quality. I know for a fact that the food Is fresh since I had two kids who worked there. They gave me the skinny in food preparation compared to some other "High Class" places down the road. COVID has made the experience much better because I alway felt it was way to loud and noise which ruined an intimate diner. Now with less tables, less customers in environment is really nice. Even the servers are more relaxed and attentive. Gumbo is outstanding, bread is awesome, Salads are big and fresh, shrimp fresh and snappy. Always a good place for crawfish & oysters. Oysters were fresh. The piece of salmon on the salmon salad was huge. We split it between 2 and it was a good portion for each one of us.
