Not one, but two Mirage Margaritas! The best bartender, Caesar, said it wouldn't be spicy if I didn't add the salty spicy rim. However, as I continued to enjoy my drink, it tasted spicer by the minute. I asked if there was any spice in the drink and he said the candied chile threads could be the culprit. He didn't think they were, but as they soaked up the margarita, it was possible. I got another one without salt or spice. One of the best margaritas that I've had in my lifetime.I doubt I could replicate the taste so it will live on as a memory. Our food was delicious! Tried this place for the first time at the airport, and let's just say the guacamole was enough to set the tone: bland, possibly made with near-spoiled cheese (cotija or queso fresco?), and zero seasoning. The chips were greasy, tasted like old fryer oil, and lacked any salt. The tortilla soup? Sent it back--it was nothing more than warm, flavored water with zucchini tossed in. A first... and hopefully a last. Then came the "tacos de hombre"--highly recommended, but totally underwhelming. Just a few slices of beef wrapped in limp flour tortillas. The rice and beans on the side tasted like they were reheated in a microwave. Even the beer on tap was flat. This place is a glorified Taco Bell charging premium prices for low-effort food. Went to the Dallas Airport location and was amazing! I ordered the Plato Del Mar, queso and non-alcoholic Tropical Refresher. Everything was devine and plentiful! The atmosphere was great, my server was Von; but everyone was so nice! The Plato Del Mar is the choice when you can't decide if you steak, chicken or shrimp. The shrimp was wrapped in bacon and charred beautifully. Steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare and the chicken was juicy. So much flavor!! The guacamole was creamy while still having avocado chucks in it. I liked that the beans weren't the run of the mill refried beans. The queso was good but that fire roasted salsa was delicious! I really enjoyed the Tropical Refresher. The cute flower and dried fruit garnish really made a non-alcoholic beverage feel like a cocktail. I also think it's nice that for an airport restaurant everything was served on real plates and with real flatware. When I asked for a box I was pleasantly surprised with box, container for salsa, a bag of chips, plastic flatware, napkins & a bag to carry it all in. The ladies were talking about the Plato del Mar, so that's what a had. A bit pricey I initially thought -- even for airport food -- but the food was great, and the portions were generous. It could have fed two! As good as the food was, the service was exceptional, and the staff were very polite. And, the price? Again, I initially thought it was high, but -- given the portion size, flavor, and airport location (for which they pay ridiculously high rent) -- it was reasonable. Well done! The servers stand by that table to chat and wait for food. Anyway. I got a different table and you'd have thought I poked her in the eye with a stick. I've never been asked how my nachos were, how my drink was by my server, Manual G, very bothered by having to wait on me clearly and got more put off by the moment. Jeez. Theres an older server smiling, asking folks how everything is, etc. I can't see his name tag. Grey hair, glasses, beard, a little difficulty walking, really kind. In fact most all employees here are lovely. I know it's the day after Christmas, I know how hard they are all working. I just had a death in my family. Maybe he did too? Maybe he's new? So I asked my waiter why I didn't get those chips, he said because " I didn't ask for it" . How the hell was I supposed to know ? He offered to give me one but I was already full from the salad ! My husband and I have been Pappasito fans for over 30 years. This location at the airport is just as delightful as the rest of their locations. In fact, it may be better because they are so nice and quick. It's so good that not only did we eat here on our way out of town, we ate here when we landed. Lol. We had the mixed fajita plate which includes their beef fajitas, chicken fajitas, and shrimp brochette. All of it is covered in the garlic butter.... which is life! Their chips are always perfectly crispy and brought with their smoky salsa that is divine. Sidenote, they always have salt on the table. After Covid, it's like everybody decided to not salt anything or put salt on the table. So weird! The reserve Margarita is the one that includes Grand Marnier. Working at an airport restaurant has to be pretty stressful, it's often so crowded, even at 9 AM. But the staff here is on top of it! We recently stopped by for just about 20 minutes before a flight for a chips, salsa, and a drink. I like how you order at the register, pay, find your own seating, and then someone brings you your order. I think it's much more efficient than sitting and waiting around for your order to be taken. The drinks were good and the chips and salsa too, tastes just the same as any other Pappasitio's. The salsa is kept warm in a little crock-pot thing near the bar, hahah. It's decently sized - a full one-person serving, but was reasonably bland. It was $18 on our visit, and fajitas could run you into the mid $30 range. Guac was $2.79 extra. My wife got a 20-ounce beer for $11, and my Grande Skinny Margarita was $19. It WAS GOOD! No chips on the table, but I suppose that's to be expected at the airport. Came here after having my plane delayed for another 3 hours for a total of an 5 hour layover. Decided to stop here for some dinner as per recommendations online but found that the food is not all that hyped up to be. Watch out for their margaritas. I ordered a platinum margarita for $20, and received six drinks through a straw out of it. I asked the manager and she said that the $16 platinum margarita gets you 7 ounces of mix, including tequila, and the $20 margarita gets you 8 ounces of mix including margarita. So you're paying double per ounce when you increase the size. Evidently they think we don't know how to do math. You would be better off, going to any other bar in the airport and ordering a margarita there, where you don't pay mostly for a glass of ice. In the old days, they were not like this. read more

We chose Pappasito's because it was close to our gate. Excellent choice. They serve breakfast and lunch/dinner choices (we just missed breakfast). The margarita we ordered was perfectly balanced and delicious. My wife's quesadilla was thick and full of fresh ingredients. My burrito had large chunks of grilled chicken and a tasty sauce. The waiter was prompt and efficient. We were in and out in under 35 mins and enjoyed a great cocktail and exceptional food. This is a must visit in Terminal B at DFW. read more
