They have finally given up. Orders are never ready on time. I'll wait an hour if they say it's an hour but it's never ready when they say. Quality has gone off the deep end. Cheese on grinders and potatoe skins isn't even melted. It seems they don't start your order until you arrive than they rush it through. Very poor service and I asked for a lettuce wrap for my burger with a side of Cesar salad. I was served an over cooked patty with a bunch of lettuce on the plate. That is not a lettuce wrap and the salad was supposed to be to be on the side. Also there was no dressing on it. When asked to make it right I was told we can take 50% off. Went here for breakfast one Saturday morning. We order the bacon egg and cheese sandwich. The Italian stallion combo and a pancake. The pancake tasted off like the milk may have been on the verge of turning we wold the waitress and it was felt with according. The rest of breakfast was fine. I came in half an hour until closing time, my first time in. Wasn't sure what to expect. Counter guy seemed a bit impatient with me, but my order was made up quickly (I came in person instead of ordering online cuz I was thinking to do by-the-slice, but they don't do by the slice that late at night). I brought it home. It was some of the most delicious Hawaiian pizza I have ever eaten. Things I couldn't have previously described as being important to pizza were well-executed. Let me preface this by saying I work in a weird part of Cheshire. We're far closer to Southington than Cheshire, and a lot of places hear Cheshire and get nervous about delivering here. (And everything that's *not* Burger King or Subway is JUST far enough away to kill too much of a lunch break to get there and back.) The other day I was trolling Grub Hub to see if anything had been added for delivery by work (tons of delivery service places with a $15 minimum and 4.99 plus 15% of orders fee) and saw Paradise had popped up ($10 minimum, and 50 cent delivery fee. HIGH FIVE). They apparently recently opened, and look to be affiliated with Paradise Pizza in New Britain. They delivered within the promised time frame (actually 20 minutes earlier - originally quoted about an hour for the food to show up) and the driver was nice (Some places around here have drivers that are jerks.) Ordered a roast beef sandwich on a hard roll (deluxe style so it came with a pickle, fries, and coleslaw) which was delicious - my only complaint is they left the lettuce off (oh well?) To bump my total past the $10 threshold for delivery I also got a cannoli which was meh. The filling was delicious, however the shell was kind of soggy. Honestly though, if that's the only thing I can complain about, that's pretty good. Looking forward to trying more stuff from here - I'll revise this review accordingly - but what little I've experienced so far is good. read more

I recently moved to Southington. Was STARVING and had no clue as to what restaurants were good in the area. Took a chance on Paradise as it is down the street. OH. MY. GOODNESS. All I can say is my diet is now royally screwed as the food is amazing. We've tried the wings, the pizza, the grinders....never disappointed! I have been ordering food from them for years now and the food used to be good size portions but now I'm noticing that the grinders are very skimpy and there's not much meat on them and for the price they charge they should make them more beefy at least besides I like the presentation I've never had an issue with the way the food looks but the amount of food for the price a customer always wants a good amount of food not $15 for a grinder with two pieces of meat and two pieces of cheese and all vegetables to me that's not acceptable but again I do enjoy the food and it's very good read more

I have driven by several times without stopping in, but yesterday I decided to give them a try. The ratio of staff to diners was 1 to 1 though a few people were waiting for takeout. I usually choose cheese pizza when ordering by the slice, but it looked unappealing so I ordered a slice of pepperoni to go. This was my 2nd time ordering from them and the 1st time they were over an hour late. They never credited me for the salad despite the two phone calls I made and I am done. After receiving delivery, and getting a physical receipt, I received an "adjustment" email of +$8.95 a few hours later.  It's tough to recommend a place that upcharges after everything was concluded.  Slice.com (how I ordered) confirmed that Paradise Pizza changed their menus prices AFTER my order.  Thankfully, PayPal reimbursed me for this restaurants dishonect behavior. We ordered delivery as it is pretty crappy out tonight and didn't want to go out. We ordered onion rings, wings, 2 philly calzones. One no mushrooms as there's an allergy. I asked specifically to label them to avoid confusion. We got our food pretty quickly, the calzones were huge. My roommate cut them both to see which one had mushrooms since they did not label. They both appeared to have mushrooms so I called to say something and the girl on the other end basically told me I'm a liar, she said that's impossible they were cooked separately. After arguing they were going to send another, we opted to eat the apps and not deal with the calzone because I'd rather not play with epi-pen tonight, I honestly won't go back due to the rudeness of the girl answering the phone. I actually started recommending the salads at Paradise Pizza before I even tried them myself. Once I started though, I became hooked on their salads: the size, the price, the fresh ingredients! Really can't beat it. The other day we ordered through Grubhub, after a long trip home from vacation and timed it perfectly to order and then pick up dinner when we would arrive back in Southington. Unfortunately, we waited about 30-35 extra minutes inside (an hour total from ordering time). My boyfriend, who ordered and was inside picking up, said something about the wait and whoever was at the counter told him they would refund him on his next order. Today we called back to accept this offer and was given our order promptly, with apologies, for free. Paradise had become our weekly go to for pizza and grinders. We'd almost always had a good experience. But lately, things have been different. We recently ordered a steak and cheese grinder, which we have gotten here before and it was terrible. First, it was a ground beef sandwich not steak. As soon as I unwrapped it, I could see the bread was soaked in grease. The lettuce was dripping in grease. We couldn't eat it. This place is close to home and I wanted to try something new. The cheese pizza had good reviews and was cheap so I tried it and it was very good if you're looking for some plain cheese pizza. I opted to get this via Grubhub last night. I definitely see pros and cons, but the pros far outweigh. Paradise Pizza is a little inelegant in how they prepare the food- I had a Greek salad, mozzarella sticks, and a housemate had a calzone with pepperoni. My salad did look as if the ingredients were thrown in and not mixed too well. That said- there was a lot of the good stuff. Feta, dolma, cucumbers, tomatoes, had a bunch of it. A salad is normally mostly lettuce and yes, this one had that the most, but it gave generous portions of the other things- and generous portions all around. My box was FILLED. I got two meals out of that salad (coupled with the mozzarella sticks). Minor thing- one of my calamata olives had a pit. I know sometimes they do, but it's something to watch for, since the rest did not. It was delicious once mixed. Mozzarella sticks were delicious, not too heavy, and I was happy with the quality. Housemate loved his calzone and let me tell you. He ordered a small. If that's a small the large must be gigantic! So let it be said: you're going to get generous food portions. Now let me get to the part that you do want to be aware of: because they use a lot of the good stuff it may overwhelm you. Me: I love cheese. I'm happy they're so generous with the cheese. I like garlic too and their garlic knots have a pretty good portion. So- if you're worried something like cheese or garlic may overpower, you may have to ask them to go easier on it. I don't consider that a flaw honestly- just a 'to each their own' thing. But I am definitely happy. Can't believe I waited so long to try this place. Oh, and I'll add this in since I saw how sometimes they may take too long to deliver: I was quoted 50 minutes, I had it in 30. read more
